I think the stores who accept bitcoin course they use a great system as bitpay or so on. so they should not hesitate to wait 1 confirmation. yeah maybe halving four years will change the time of confirmation to be faster. yeah I know it is a problem

well if you send the bitcoins over the phone I doubt that you would have to wait for that long as I don't think it's possible to make a double spend attack over your phone

well if you send the bitcoins over the phone I doubt that you would have to wait for that long as I don't think it's possible to make a double spend attack over your phone

If you were really trying to do a double spend attack over your phone, you could hypothetically get one to go through, but it would require coordination between someone back at the control panel (or with access to the miners) and the person spending. Unless you had access through the phone to everything else, which is possible.

After reading all the replies, I feel confident summarizing that the #1 problem of Bitcoin is probably lack of adoption.
And the main reasons of lack of adoption are probably ease of use and insufficient security.
We are a team of entrepreneurs and software developers that are going to spend the next following months-year on developing a new product.
One of the most appealing markets for us is the Bitcoin market.
We will try to learn us much as possible from your replies and try to tackle the problems head on.

My problem is that it is hard to exchange it into my local currency and that there aren't many places where you can use them

from your cases is hard to exchange your bitcoins in local currency but like in my region. I'm searching a person want to buy my bitcoin in local currency with face-to-face for the transaction. maybe it's become your way to get an easily exchange your bitcoin in local currency.

You can simply use my technic, you buy when you want buy and you sell when you want sell. simple
but for me biggest problem is about confirmed transaction, when i buy some digital goods if seller new to accept bitcoin it hard to tell them "no worry, it will confirmed i put decent transaction fee" but the seller always worried cause it take long time to confirm and think he dont get his money.

is it do you think that each store will require you to wait for 10 minutes so they could get a 1-3 confirmation? I think bitcoin payment can not be canceled then why wait until some confirmation? I think it would be difficult for the user. if it happens of course people will choose a payment method other than bitcoin

This is not really a personal problem... but I've been wondering: what takes a bitcoin out of circulation? To me (and you Bitcoin fanatics will totally get mad at me for saying this), Bitcoin is a like a virtual gaming currency, and in games, if there is no coin sink (something provided in the game to 'take' coins from the server, such as an NPC that sells things players need), then there is excess currency, and it becomes junk.

So... help me understand... what keeps the Bitcoins from becoming an item of surplus; is there anything that makes them actually disappear? Do people just hoard it away? Or are there just that many people that are just starting out on the whole bitcoin thing and not enough Bitcoins in circulation...?

It's very simple man lmao . Hahaha you can buy bitcoin anytime you want but make it sure that you would buy at the lower price and if you are going to sell it wait for the price to go up , make sure that it is frequently rising than falling .

Yeah i guess that is the main problem aside from the slow transactions and confirmation . Because there is just a little online shops that are accepting bitcoin as a payment and here in my country the only thing i can do to use bitcoin is to buy a prepaid load or pay my bills online . I can't buy some stuffs or goods with bitcoin .

Yeah right maybe later you will surely experience a delayed delivery. In fact, there are several items that were delayed for many days. I think it's very disturbing. Maybe I did not experience problems in bitcoin than that.

The most frustrating stuff that bitcoin has is that when you are scammed by the other person or company. It is impossible for you to bring back your money because of the lack of incentives that we have. One great example is the Hash ocean. They scammed about 700+ thousand individuals and sadly, they cannot be traced or put into jail. Its because we dont have a legal protection against these people who dont give back the right services and payments that we should have. If a certain law will be established with regards to this problem. I think the bitcoin community will grow rapidly.

Very true and highly agreed. I think due to the fact that you can not trace bitcoins and the person who took it sometimes becomes a problem too, though for me it is a benefit as I can gamble as much as I want without anyone trace and know how much worth of money I am gambling with.

I think bitcoin transfer is irreversible, so when a person click the send button of their bitcoin wallet to send some bitcoin to someone, then he then is unable to cancel that transaction or he then cannot reverse that transaction, so only sending that will be enough for merchants, just like bitpay

I know, I know about that. that's is become the common problem in all of the region.but for the confirmation of the transaction is getting a delayed I think it's normal if the delay is 10-15 minutes for every transaction. but if above than 15 minutes example 20,25,or an hour is sure the confirmation is getting the problem. but i sure if your confirmation time until 3 or 4 hours it's very bad.

I'm still waiting for confirmation of some payments because the site I use isn't able to put correct fees and that's really not cool ><
