I agree with that, holding them for certain period of time is good but only holding and never selling them doesn't make any sense, you should sell your coins when the price of bitcoins exceeds your entry price in order to make profits and buy them back when price falls in future.

Well people usually dont wanna to take huge risks, soo they sell in the general as they see 30-60% income from investment, are few those which does hold their investments forward those, at bitcoin i do believe some people are waiting the halving of 2020 to dump their coins.

If there were a hyper inflation fiat crash scenario and bitcoins were 10k 100k or 1 mil.  I would still cash out a few provided fiat could still buy products.  If everyone accepts bitcoin it doesn't matter.

I dont think people will swap to FIAT money, they would just swap bitcoin straight to goods.   This is what happens with gold bars when buying property in Vietnam because they dont want to risk losing value during the exchange, its easier just to keep hold of the gold which will adjust in price and literally its done as a trade or exchange of shiny bar for the land with no paper money.

Theres the famous tale of the family in the 1920's selling all their goods and house in Germany post world war one and their purchase for all these things in a distressed market was ferry tickets and travel out of the country to a more stable environment to work.   So they sold the goods and received their cash which was a currency with hyper inflation and by later that day they got to the Ferry to buy the tickets, the price had already moved too far and their money was now not enough for all the family to travel.  
It becomes too dangerous to hold money eventually, right now for western countries the danger period is maybe ten years.  You cant save for retirement with cash because its going to fail to buy your food when you cant work from old age.
  As the currency standard falls apart the one decade becomes five years, then a couple, a year then its just months before you lose too much value to ever hold on.  It accelerates, Im sure you wont be swapping to FIAT when it gets that bad you will hold onto assets and swap over and its then bitcoin is useful for being immediate and accurate

Nice explanation there, I get the point, money is not an investment but bitcoin is. I have been reiterating that because fiat or money as we call it is subject to inflation while bitcoin the longer we use it the more it increase it's value. I guess we just need to learn how to take risks.

I think that's true for other commodities but not for bitcoin, we must to know that the stock of the bitcoin is fixed and bitcoin users always increase. So if we hold our bitcoin then it is definitely the price will go up. And I'am very disappointed for sell some of my bitcoin before halving day about 5 months ago, if I hold 3 months again or until now I would profit more.

No one knows when the price goes up or down, that's right, but you can secure yourself a decent amount of coins at certain levels, such as was the case when the price was sitting below $400 for a very long time.

At that time, I didn't care about whether or not the price would go up or down. My only target was to buy as many coins as possible every month.

And that's something that made me a more than decent profit as we are now hovering above the $700 mark. Some times you just have to buy without thinking too much.

Of course that's not something you can do at current prices. Or maybe... You can, but it won't be a smart thing to do since we're working at much higher prices now.

Never selling is not the right decision for that, you should rather say you wont sell them until the price reaches to an higher place, because if you never sell them then there is no mean of holding them for so long, we basically hold our coins in order to get more profits out of them.

Remember, there were also people who bought bitcoin @1200$. Where are they now? How many of them are still waiting to sell their coins from 1200$+ to make profits? They also thought they were buying the coins from the bottom.

Patience is the key word.

If you'll ever gonna need your money somewhere in the future, don't trade bitcoins with that money. You can trade gold, euro's, us dollars or similar strong currencies but not bitcoin. You won't be able to get out when your money's worth is 1/2 of what it was before in a day.

While everybody estimates Bitcoin's worth in USD, it is just dumb to keep all your wealth as bitcoins.

Yes, many people do not have the patience. I also get nervous when Bitcoin cheaper. Nobody wants to lose their money. But they all want to earn. Therefore, you need to have experience in trading

Yeah a great and bright future is waiting for bitcoins ahead and I am sure that bitcoin will go beyond our expectations in future and it will change the financial system for sure and thinking of all those factors I am try my best to accumulate as much coins as possible and save it for the future so that I can sell them when the right time comes.
