Worst mistake the I made. Is by joining Golden Cow That's also happen to me. I've been scammed about BTC 0.06 and that's the worst mistake I've ever done when I know bitcoin. Since that incident, I'm never invest to any other investment site although they said legit. Better gamble it away ( chance of winning ) rather than invest it away ( chance of got scam (

My worst mistakes are lot of them , first i invested in HashProfit.com site but given instruction for reinvesting instead of withdraw after six months the site got deleted. second time i used to play gambling in lot of sites, with strategy and guessin, but same thing at the last lost my full bankroll above 1btc., which i earned hard through faucets.

For now, the worst has been investing 0.02 in a HYP then the site dissapeared.
Also have lost some (but less) investing on cloud mining sites.
May i know which HYIP was that? Most of them pay in their beginning but after a time they start scamming.

My worst mistake(s)
1. Buying mining equipment instead of bitcoins. So I bought a computer first with 2 x 6990 ATI Radeon, which was cool as nobody knew wtf was gonna happen to bitcoin anyway. SO if it all came crashing down I would still have at least a cool gaming machine
2. I then mined on MtRed and left 20 bitcoins in there. THey shot up in value, and MtRed folded suspiciously. I only got 10 Btc out. 10 BTC gone
3. Then when ASIC race was on I bought 7 ASIC machines from Tom....luckily, as planned, on credit card. No way was I gonna send Bitcoin. As it happened they folded, I reversed the transaction (about 8000USD) and I got most of my money back minus interest. If I had bought 8000USD worth of Bitcoin then I would not be an employee anymore lol. THink I would have about 1000 btc right now. Not the world of a fortune but enough to "retire" and do my own thing safely.
4. I've done something else but cannot recall right now. Probably scarred for life lol.
5 Oh yeah and I left a couple of bitcoins on Blockchain. I go and check and exactly one Bitcoin is one. Freaking weird. Got them in a safe place now. Still don't know what happened.

I guess in the early times of bitcoin? I guess so. It is very very hard to get one full BTC by faucets only. Doing 150.000 satoshis a day (which takes much fauceting) it would take about 1 year and 10-11 months to get just 1 BTC.

i agree that its better to buy than to mine.. i also experience this Especially in those countries that have high rates on the electricity consumption like here in PH. Mining here is not profitable even if you use some alternative electricity source so much better to buy bitcoins with those money that will you invest in your mining plan.

The first mistake is very common, better to use that rig for other things, and hopefully 3) you got your money back.

Sending first.... I think that explains everything This thread actually makes for a good read to see how others made mistakes so that one can learn from their and not make the same ones.

Sending first... is still been used and most of the time not using an escrow is the worst idea. Good point RustyNomad.

The worst mistake I did with bitcoins is selling it when the price went down. Panic selling for short.

I would say that my biggest mistake was to sell bitcoins that i have been stashing for a long time @~200 $, when the price later on jumped to ~250 and later on to ~1200. I couldn't believe my eyes, but the only good trade decision i did was not to rebuy, that would end badly. I believe most of people made the same mistake here.

Your story is interesting and very useful, not ending buying high and then crying for selling low. Seems you hear for bitcoin for a long time.

I wouldn't gamble with any money especially not bitcoin. Would prefer to hold. I;m not sure what my biggest mistake is. I guess everyone says they should have bought more but the profit wouldn't have been that good for me as the price currently stands.

I would say the worst mistake I made was not believing in it when I first heard of it a few years ago. I would have been rich by now.
