Why others considered worst mistake when they buy at high then suddenly the price down. It is not meant and intentional. We can't predict price so it's ok. But of course to help you somehow with your problem about when to buy and when to sell, read some speculations. Yes they are all 100% not accurate but somehow have basis.

Not buying enough bitcoins when the price was really low

and for not believing how good bitcoin would turn out to be and not believing how good of an investment it would've been

well not ur fault. it is very hard to hold on to it and sell it at the perfect peak. we all end up selling it too early or it just never drop and keep increaing.

Yup! technically you will never know when bitcoin will reach it's peak, even there are so much speculation about it your only choice is predicting when it will go up or down, but if you make a right decision you can earn from it and make a much income!

In 2010, I somehow landed at a site selling quantities of Bitcoin for 5 cents each ($0.05/btc), payment through Paypal.
I had never heard of Bitcoins before, and a crude little chart showed the prices had recently gone up 10x (1000%), so they appeared to be really expensive compared to earlier in the year. I was a bit tempted, but did not come close to buying any.

I don't think that's a mistake since you still make use of it and not wasting it, probably you'll regret more if you'll keep bitcoin for a long time Roll Eyes

well if you need it for emergencies in real life that's fine, if you're spending it for fear that's not, and if you're buying with it useless stuff that's also bad

and for not believing how good bitcoin would turn out to be and not believing how good of an investment it would've been

That is  the mistake that we all have done that we didn't buy bitcoins when the price was really low and the reason behind it is that we didn't had faith in bitcoins at the initial stage and we just got carried away by the news displayed by press and media as we are influenced by them and we had a feeling that bitcoins will survive for a longer time.

My two worst mistakes were:

1. Not getting into Bitcoin when I first heard about it (it was really, really cheap)

2. Gambling away .5 BTC right before it hit it's peak (~1 month), then selling the other .5 for ~$50

I'd like to believe that I'm smarter now, but I have no idea.

Yes. Laughing out loud. If you know that Bitcoin average rate would be more than 100 USD you will buy it. The sad thing is you dont know.

My two worst mistakes were:

1. Not getting into Bitcoin when I first heard about it (it was really, really cheap)

2. Gambling away .5 BTC right before it hit it's peak (~1 month), then selling the other .5 for ~$50

Learning from a two mistakes made you a smarter person. Right before it hit peak? What is the peak - 100?

I mined a whole bitcoin back when they were worth pennies and didn't save the wallet address Sad
