Hmm. I think i would, but i would need more variance in my job than participate and post in forum discussion all day everyday. I mine at home and try to pickup good deals for my farm, but i will need to find more options.

I'm not really interested in trading, but i'll still be keeping an eye out for opportunities. The Publicity Campaign is a nice start, but i have only so much to say in a given day.

I would like to think that I will make bitcoin my fulltime job, so that I would have no need to quit my daytime job in order to pursue a bitcoin-related job. As of now, I don't work, but when I do, it will be meanwhile I get into bitcoin for reals.

What do you mean by "focus on bitcoin"? There are plenty of people whose full-time job is focused on Bitcoin. What is wrong with that? Money is money regardless of how you earn it.

This is for those who have a dayjob that is not related to bitcoin. There's nothing wrong with that. All I'm saying is that if they're willing to go full time on earning bitcoin and give up their day time jobs.

I have a family to feed and monthly expenses. I cannot quit a day job and pursue a bitcon dream.  Cheesy
I would love working for a bitcoin related company and be paid regularly in bitcoin.

Sure on a bi weekly basis, it doesn't matter if its a bitcoin job or not. As long as you're getting your conversion to fiat somehow.

It would be unwise for most people to leave their day job solely because of the job security and benefits that it provide.

Its hard to say where bitcoin will be in 1-2 years and even though unlikely, it could collapse rapidly and then you'd have to find a new job Wink

Think it is too risky. Do you really earn enough by mining or trading? Can you mine enough? Can you trade enough remembering margins are thin? Holding is not the answer as value can decrease as well as increase.

it depend if someone has already a good amount, let's say 1000 btc he can quit his job even now and wait for the price to rise, at 1k per btc he is rich enough to live without any job

I don't know where you live, but in The Netherlands you need to do some smart investing to retire with 1 million USD.. I think you need closer to 10 million to be able to comfortably retire (with a nice standard of living).

Are you inspired by those bitcoin millionaires? Are you thinking of filing a resignation letter on your day job (if you have any) and focus on bitcoin instead?

Me? I do have a day job and I consider bitcoin as my side job. I don't want to lose that another source of income just because bitcoin is awesome.

No, I won't leave my day job.  But, I'm glad to be in the mix and in the know of bitcoin.  I'm forever greatful to bitcoin and the multitudes of alt coins for making an alternate and modern finance tool.  It's really an exciting time to be alive and I'm excited to see how the bitcoin story will play out.  I don't doubt that bitcoin will be influential in my life as I get older and perhaps when I don't have a day job and am in my retirement years.

i think 10M is way too much, you should define better a "nice standard of living", because as i see it it's not only a matter of where you live, but more of what you want from your life, personally i do not want a lot, so 1M is sufficient for me

No.
I don't have enough bitcoin reserve right now (that provides me early retirement).
So I'll keep my day job to buy & earn more bitcoin.

my answer is that i wouldnt quit my job now as bitcoins are still a risky investment and  no one knows what might happen in the future, though if countries start accepting it as a national currency then yes

already done that my day job is signature campaign lol, job kill your life, with signature i can earn comfortably at home without paying any taxes on it, because i'm not selling bitcoin or anything, this is the best part of it

being payed directly in bitcoin with those kind of activity is fantastic

But when you want to buy something with it what are you going to do?
Say for example, that BTC goes to 10K in the next years and you can afford a nice car or real state.
How can one buy that with BTC without getting it taxed?
When they ask where the money comes from what will you say? it came from "sig campaign?" i ask because a friend made a lot of money mining and a little with sig campaing too and is on the same boat. Has never sold or bought with fiat so goverment has no idea that he owns a couple thousands in BTC.

There's tons of stuff i buy and use every month and can pay with BTC. Like games or or appliances. I can also have a 3rd party pay my bills using bitcoin.

It really depend on the law, the same rules doesnt apply to everyone.

Your questions have different answers depending on who you ask.

Me i need to count it as an "other income" if i end with move value than i put in. Which isint the case.

I think we're on the same shoes. I'm looking forward for an early retirement but unfortunately, I have so little reserve right now. I would really like to just sit in front of my computer and work on my bitcoin reserve.

I'm not having a job cuz I'm just a student.
In my opinion I'll not quit my job ever as it will be my major source of income and I'll not cut the branch on which I'll be standing.

bitcoin can't go to 10k without rising its usage all around the word, i mean there isn't a thing like bitcoin will have a high price but it's still not mainstream, those two thing go together

so at 10k, it's very likely that many shop will already accept it, and aside from this there is open bazar coming, or if you prefer to use them now without dumping there is all4btc/purse.io

If you have a day time job, you can make Bitcoin your night time job. Most people I know, have to do 2 or more jobs to pay for the debt they accumulated over time. They are the small little rat, running in the wheel, going nowhere.
Use your extra Bitcoin income to pay for your debt, and once you are debt-free, you might consider such drastic options.

If your day time job is flexible and can transition to Bitcoin very quickly, like for example Blog writers or Casino operators etc. then only can you consider such options.

I would like to work in the Crypto currency scene on a full time basis, because I am bored with my current job, BUT it does not pay near enough for me to do that.  Sad

Yeah but he's talking about buying something serious like a vehicle or a house, not some videogames. How are you going to buy something like that without setting the IRS alarms on?
You may be able to directly buy a car and a house with BTC directly in the future (in fact you can now) but how are you supposed to avoid taxes anyway? you have to declare your properties.
