I dont think Ethereum is the future of cryptocurrencies. Because bitcoin is currently increasing its price and growing daily. Even ethereum is also increasing its price but bitcoin has more users.

Yes, Ethereum is a future currency but it cannot beat the bitcoin because bitcoin has a strong stability where it has a strong growth where people have lot of confidence on it. Ethereum is another currency after bitcoin which will secure it's value in coming days.
Yes I agree with you, I think until 2020 the future no one can compete with bitcoin, Ethereum is now a good rate, but it is not possible if you want to go beyond bitcoin.

Too bad that BTC didn't react on time, now is a little bit too late
World and the media are still supporting bitcoin. most of the people do not know what it ethereum yet and they will choose bitcoin instead of ethereum. Only truth investors who have a good knowledge about the blockchain will choose ethereum

Oh man..i was really surprised today at work when my colleagues from stewarding have started to talk about Ethereum..

He could badly pronounce the name, but in my surprise he speak about it as a good alternative to Bitcoin...He never nows anything about crypto before.

Well done Ethereum team..Simple people start to talk about Ethereum as a good alternative to Bitcoin!

Still trying to educate myself on Ethereum.  I like that the calculations done can be used in a useful way.  But since there isn't a finite amount of total Ethereum to be mined...does anyone know what dictates the creation/mining of Ethereum?

I've been dabbling with cryptocurrency since ~2013, but this recent spike has my eyes wide open. I've heard recently that ethereum and ripple are two coins to watch because banks are getting behind them. Is this the widespread thinking or just people supporting altcoins they're vested in?

Anything the Bankers touch, they corrupt.

Those were my intial thoughts. I also don't see why, if they are actually interested in the technology behind the coin, why they wouldn't just amke their own in house versions of it. Use the coin as a beta and then perfect something in house. It's interesting to think about at least.

Totally agree.  An unproductive capacity that leeches value from productive capacity.

I have however heard that Ripple is supported by the banks...still need to get a better understanding of this cryptocurrency in general, but do you know of any opportunities for banks to corrupt it?  One thing I do like about Ripple that I don't about Ethereum is the finite total supply.

It seems that the continuous rise, at what price will it arrive? The two seem to have much future, it would be good a correction to then continue to rise

ETH will allow $2T of underground economy to become more structured (and possibly less underground) through DAOs.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/04/23/americas-2-trillion-shadow-economy-is-the-recessions-big-winner/

If it captures 1% of that $2T, it is equivalent to $20B, which would put ETH somewhere around $150. Those who sell for $2 will shit bricks, eat sand and may even commit suicide in the years to come. If it captures 10% of that ETH will be $1500. I know it sounds crazy, but so did the Internet in 1995.

Once it's launched their main focus will be on scalability, which I think is the real reason crypto is not ready for mainstream. Once they can handle 100K TPS (and I'm sure they will), it's game over.
Yes, Bitcoin í not the future of crypto, Bitcoin WAS the future of crypto. Nowaday, there are a lot of coins that can replace Bitcoin in the future so that Bitocin can not be the King in the future

Stop complaining about bitcoin. Even though you hate it, you still have to admit that it is very great and awesome and has been used by many many people around world. People only care about ethereum when bitcoin gets stuck. When the HF succeeds, money will return to bitcoin and more and more will buy bitcoin

es that's people who like to trade, if the coins they hold down the price, then they will hate it and continue to complain. I think it's just natural things.
