Bitcoin has a bigger future in term of value and ETH won't be able to compete with BTC . For ETH, it has attain his limits just with Cryptokittens. It shows that it is possible to disrupt all the ETH network. ETH seems to be on experimental mode now. I think there are better technology than ETH.

We have think twice of scalability of eth network when  we come top cryptokitten situations. And we cant compaire the two crypto currencies since both are working on two purposes. However still transactions are higher than the bitcoins when it comes to real world transactions.

Bitcoin will always become a popular and leading in terms of value. ethereum was often used in the ico as mode of payment after the end of the campaign. They have different roles.

Ethereum does have a detailed roadmap to solve on-chain scalability though. It's a matter of time before we find out how well it can scale on-chain. Even if a few elements work out well on the roadmap, it can achieve a lot.

I have the same opinion. Bitcoin shows such a daily growth and drop in the exchange rate, which is very frightening

I agree that Ethereum has a strong future, but the implications of ideas behind this thread are long on more than just Ethereum. Issues of regulations, national borders, scalability, resilience, etc. will altogether lead to a diversity of blockchains, not a market completely dominated by one blockchain. Maybe Ethereum will be the leader and have 30% of the market (for example), so I'm not saying that the nature of industry in an economy will fundamentally change. But, Ethereum is not a fundamental set of truths, there are other ways to do similar things, and there are incentives to both create and use new blockchains. I'm long on Ethereum, NEO, Bancor, Cosmos, Polkadot...

Great post.  It helped put my attention in the right place.

Now, I have to research Bancor, Cosmos, and Polkadot, because I haven't heard of them. lol.

I believe that unless Cryptocurrencies have become an absolute mainstream currency Bitcoin will not be replaced by anything else. Bitcoin is the mother of all coins, and for it to be surpassed by anything it will be quite a while.

In terms of market cap, I believe that Ethereum will surpass Bitcoin within the next three years.

I do not believe that Ethereum is the future, as is evident these days is not suitable as a currency of exchange. Dash and Litecoin may be the future.

It will take time for the ethereum to catch up with bitcoin in term of price but i believe the future will be good for ethereum and the rest of cryptocurrencies in the market. It's only a matter of time before the altcoins will show their way to the top.

I do agree with you nothing can beat bitcoin this time even ethereum but I can't deny eth is kinda popular right now because of the price and because its usually used for ICO's. Ethereum has a good future i think.

I think that ETH is still not mature enough, and there are likely to be more alternatives, beyond ETH.

Ethereum has big advertising  Let's see what happens with this new coin / platform. From what I've read it's not even near to a competition to Bitcoin.
I found an interesting project recently but Im in doubt. Mytimecoin, its like casback by coins for watching or using information from partners of it. Have anyone heard about it?

For as long as Bitcoin remains very strong and solid, there is no way Ethereum or any other altcoin could replace Bitcoin. As of now, let's admit that Bitcoin almost does not have any practical use because of its very strong growth and some concerns such as huge fees and long confirmation time. Bitcoin has really become a storage of value rather than something that would replace the fiat money that we have for now. However, it seems people are still buying more Bitcoins than Ethereums.
Even if bitcoin is not a very good currency it is a great investment, better than many other coins and since bitcoin is the oldest coin the chances it collapses overnight are lower than any other coin, so people are just taking a safe investment that can make them a lot of money in the near future, ETH is also a good coin but at this point there is no comparison, bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency.

The biggest advertisement of Ethereum in recent times is Cryptokitties. These cats just blew up the crypto-society, but brought a lot of popularity to Ethereum, although they put the network)

Ethereum seems to have scalability problems even bigger than the ones Bitcoin has. About its price, I think Ethereum will never able to overcome Bitcoin because its supply is too high. Also, Bitcoin is still the most popular cryptocoin around there so I think Ethereum won't be able to overcome it. Ethereum popularity is mainly due to the ICO fever. As soon as this trend will stop, I don't know if Ethereum will still be able to compete with BTC.
