after 15 year bitcoin can replace dollar as safe investment but can’t replace paper money like dollar or other. in future we will buy bitcoin more than cars No Bitcoin cannot replace dollar even in the future.The dollar is under the control of the Government and the government will try its best to maintain integrity of the dollar.It is the most widely used currency in the world and all the international transactions are done with respect to the dollar.Moreover Bitcoin is not even legalised in many nations and not everyone knows about the cryptocurrency or Bitcoin.It requires internet connection which is not possible in every corner of the world so it will be a tough competition for Bitcoin to replace the dollar. |

Well, it is an open possibility because there is still no assurance for how long will Bitcoin take up in the society since we all know that it was just a newly establish currency and added by the fact that Bitcoin was a bit far from our traditional money which is in terms of fiat because Bitcoin itself was already been made and established using online preference since it was a virtual money. Maybe, in the future it will be possible for Bitcoin to make its way making itself replace Dollar in terms of being a currency. |

I don't think bitcoin will every replace the dollar.
What I do think is that governments will issue their own cryptocurrency one day. Everything will be tracked, and taxed, directly on the blockchain and we will be able to see - forever - what transactions occurred. The IRS can then audit you back to the start of the blockchain and the FBI/CIA will use the blockchain to track criminals. Interesting future we have.

I don't think so bitcoin would not replace dollar in the near future. Dollar is the strongest currency and it would remain so. But more and more business institutions using bitcoin and the number is growing everyday.

Hell no, both have created to be used differently. Crypto cannot replace virtual money and virtual cannot replace crypto unless being converted going back to question is dollar can be replace by crypto, that is a big illusion even though crypto performed well in past years it cannot be categorized parallel to virtual money as it move in different manner. We all hope for a cashless society but its way too far than we dreamed of unless the government will agree.

Certainly not in it's current form. Just the inability to do high-volume transactions would disqualify it.
However, it may take over certain parts of the Dollar's function, such as being a store of wealth.

I dont think bitcoin will replace dollar. Government always want some thing that they can control, and hold. Bitcoin cannot be controlled by anyone right one.
True. A currency which cannot be manipulated in terms of supply and value, cannot be adopted by governments. On the contrary, a centralized currency proves beneficial as central banks and governments could manipulate them to their own needs. Bitcoin has everything that governments hate which is decentralization, where no external entity or third-party could gain control over how the cryptocurrency is distributed and its total supply. With this in mind, Bitcoin is far from replacing the dollar at any point in the future. Another thing that limits its ability to replace any fiat currency, is the ever-rising transaction fees and slow confirmation times. With the dollar, we don't need to pay huge fees to transact with other people, and every transaction is made instant. But despite the inherent flaws available within cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, I believe that they would co-exist alongside with government issued digital currencies. The way I see it, is that the Dollar, Euro, and all the world's currencies will become digital empowered by private blockchains and distributed ledgers. Most recently, Russia has announced a CryptoRubble and Venezuela the Petrocoin. It should only be a matter of time before governments start rolling in their own currencies for them to co-exist with public blockchains such as Bitcoin and the rest of altcoins in existence. I do not think in the future Bitcoin can replace USD as this is an impossible thing. Bitcoin has too much risk around it and it becomes bubbles too many times a year. |

It won't kill the dollar , But that doesn't mean they won't change the world. Many bitcoin enthusiasts believe that the digital currency will create what amounts to a new gold standard. The basic logic is that the number of bitcoins in existence is limited, while the number of dollars is not

I think Bitcoin will replace our fiat money today, but it won't happen soon. Bitcoin will have a long long way journey before it become the only currency. But I believe that Bitcoin will become mainstream and all people will recognize it as a crypto asset that a must-have. Soon enough companies/businesses will now eventually accepts Bitcoin as payment.

Possible yes it will replace dollar but not soon, this is because some countries want to regulate bitcoin which is not possible enough to happen, and since Bitcoin transaction fee is big some investors feels it is not practical, we have to fix more before that happen soon

As What I gained the knowledge about bitcoin from this forum in this short period is very less. But for sure it is not that much easy to replace Dollar through bitcoin is impossible only as bitcoin is cryptocurrency any it is fully depend upon technology and need internet to access which is for next 25 years not possible to get each and everyone at every place. But Dollar is a traditional currency and not depend on technology.

I think bitcoin will never replace dollar because bitcoin is not a fiat money thus it is a asset. Assets are the ones who gives or earns money for you. The fluctuation of the price of bitcoin is also a reason that it will not replace dollar.

It is not possible to replace dollars. dollar is a currency that is valid all over the world. but the bitcoin has not been as good as the dollar yet. it is also less likely to be in the future. It makes more sense to ask if bitcoin will replace gold. |

Has the potential to overthrow the whole established economic system. But the governments and authorities all over the world aren't in favor of cryptocurrencies. Worse, they fear it because they do not understand and that it may well be a threat to all the traditional system. So as long as they're keen on opposing it, it's gonna be tough for BTC to overthrow dollar or any paper currency for that matter.
