I agree, the dev team showing utmost dedication to SHIFT it should worth a lot more.

Welcome back, kahir! About a week ago, we had a meeting with Joey, the dev, and came up with the following: Meeting results:
Instead of the previously announced 5M premine, we managed to reach consensus on a different solution that is much fairer for all parties involved and will create long-term incentives for both the dev(s) as well as the community and investors.
There will be a new version of Shift for the Ethereum Homestead release.
Additionally to the current available supply (approximately 2.7 million SHF which will be converted 1 to 1 into the new SHF), there will be a premine of 2 million SHF, which will be divided by half and organized as two individual funds:
1. A community fund to incentivize the community and reward meaningful engagement. 2. A developer fund to incentivize the developer and to get new talent on board.
The funds are going to be managed via two separate DAOs for the individual stakeholders to ensure security and well being of Shift.
Short Term goals: 1. Building the DAOs for the individual funds. 2. Implementing a smart contract for an easy conversion process for the enduser from old to new SHF. 3. Release of the new Shift 2.0.
This is seeked to be completed within March, though there is no specific release date yet.
I personally am quite excited to get started as I believe there is much talent involved in the project.
Want to learn more?
Make sure to drop by the official Slack channel. Just PM me your email for that.
Since then, a lot has been done ( https://github.com/shiftcurrency) and Joey already implemented Homestead into Shift V.2. We are having great discussions in Slack. Feel free to join in.

Once I added the below node then the wallet started to sync. admin.addPeer("enode://dfac27f4e14600a06480ee72d2d9a28c26805ac8cbc31e1d07225a49d5669f54f97ff9d88c20cd9ec2f148c8cb64861820eee8d235b79a3edceec0648fa9376b@178.33.228.14:53900")

Thanks for the feedback. I had the same problem with the latest Mist, so as you can see this is not specific to Shift. We'll try to find a better way to handle this though.

Things are not settled yet, but we have a growing team of very talented people working on various complementary aspects. We'll be making an announcement soon called Milestone 1 to make things clearer.

The price is raising. I think this coin needs more miners to generate more coins and increase difficulty slightly to balance out the market in order to get stable price raise.

I sold half my haunch, not because I've got anything against Shift but because I'm trying to get a little bit of trader's discipline under my belt. (I'm still smarting over my earlier losses...)

The price is raising. I think this coin needs more miners to generate more coins and increase difficulty slightly to balance out the market in order to get stable price raise. The mining reward will most likely be lesser in shift 2.0.0. We will also adjust the starting difficulty. We will soon give an announcement when we have have established a team. We are now 5 people and 2 pending that are in the process of being a team member. Right now everyone is working with the responsibility in their area(design, developing, servers etc) and we will see once everything sets how we will proceed. This is pretty different since shift version one, the team will contain more people with a more diversified skill set. Not sure how the market cap will respond if the reward gets less and the difficulty gets high at the same time. This will be kinda gambling either the price goes to Moon or flatten. But we will have to see.

To the extent that I'm gambling, I'm betting that the price will flatten temporarily.

The most common reasons are as follows: - Your local time might be incorrect. An accurate clock is required to participate in the Ethereum network. Check your OS for how to resync your clock (example sudo ntpdate -s time.nist.gov) because even 12 seconds too fast can lead to 0 peers.
- Some firewall configurations can prevent UDP traffic from flowing. You can use the static nodes feature or admin.addPeer() on the console to configure connections by hand.
To start geth without the discovery protocol, you can use the --nodiscover parameter. You only want this is you are running a test node or an experimental test network with fixed nodes.
