So with Bayern Munich's loss today they lost their first place to Dortmund, I was expecting Bayern Leverkusen to make things really tough for Bayern Munich, but when they led with one goal i thought they are heading for a win, but penalties in the 2nd half gave Bayern Leverkusen the win, things are getting really complicated for Bayern Munich especially with Dortmund getting in a very good form.

That was quite unexpected result from Bayern! A defeat against Leverkusen which isn't playing their best season made Bayern look unstable here.
When you see Bayern playing in Champions League and kicking PSG then losing a simple domestic game whether vs Leverkusen or another easier team, you wonder know what's going on with them.
Bayern lost the first place for Dortmund which had a great game against Koln and defeated them by 6 goals. So Bayern are 1 point behind of Dortmund and 4 points away from Union with only 9 matches left in this season.

Lewandowski is a goal machine and he can convert opportunities to goal at very high conversion rate. He grew up in Dortmund but at Bayern, he made his name as one of the best strikers in the world last 5 years. It is a mutual relationship between Lewandowski and Bayern but by letting he leaving to Barcelona, now Bayern can feel his impacts on their ability to find goals.

At least, Choupo-Moting is not a striker at same level as Lewandowski. Mane got injuries and has yet reclaimed his best performance and more important he is not a classic striker.

This issue together with some injuries make Bayern weaker and give chances to other clubs especially Dortmund. Maybe it is better for Bundesliga if they find a new champion after many years.

The result was unexpected for the Munich side to lose against Leverkusen. Leverkusen is by no means a weak team. But the Munich team is very strong. And Munich needed 3 points in this match to regain the top spot in the table. But they failed. The top spot in the table is now occupied by Dortmund.

When Bayern took the lead I thought, ok game over. It was nice to see Dortmund at the top for another 24 hours but that's about it.
Now the fight for the championship is more open than in the past 10 years, everything is possible, who would have thought after BVB's terrible first 17 games.

Dortmund No more have any distractions. Their players are all in good condition cuz they are out in all European competitions and can now focus on their local league. This will give them more hands in winning the German Bundesliga.
No doubt, it will be nice to have another name written on the list of Bundesliga champions as we all know that Bayern Munich has been champions for years,  but Dortmund doesn't seem good enough to stand the fight even though they now assume the position. Dortmund is ahead of Bayern Munich with one point, the point Dortmund has does not guarantee them to win the league.  For Bayern Munich to lose in the game it is an advantage for them to try in getting more points. Dortmund should try and improve to be consistent to win the league.

Because Bayern Munich are not as usual, they seem to have problems and Leverkusen can play more comfortably than them. Palacios became the man of the match in this match because he successfully executed the 2 penalty kicks that were given to him. but I have to admit that in that match Bayern had a bad attack and defense, So it's no wonder Bayern was defeated by Leverkusen. freiburg vs mainz ended in a draw and it was really bad luck for freiburg because mainz scored a goal in 90 + 6 minutes.

It makes no sense to talk about the correctness of these penalties, this will not change anything. I still don't think that Bayern Munich will lose at home against Leverkusen with a score of 1-2. But this result is not the worst for Bayern Munich, I think they are just unlucky.
