The lack of consistency from some teams is frightening. Take Freiburg and Leipzig for example. Both failed to win their last games, although both had opponents they should have been beaten. They are lucky that the pursuers are not playing very well either and are not really a threat to them. That has been the case for a few weeks now. If they will not win the next games it will be hard to keep place 6 at least.

But this actually makes the top 4 odds between the 3 teams now real. Union, Freiburg and Leipzig can still occupy that position. Actually, in other respects, Frankfurt before was still able to, but the defeat against Union previously knocked them out, even though they were still able to compete, but they were a little difficult for sure.
Even so, Leipzig's loss to Bochum was really very unfortunate.

Leipzig started the season poorly just like Leverkusen and seeing both of them in the 5th and 8th position respectively isn't that bad. For Freiburg, they started quite well then dropped.

For Leipzig, the situation is slightly better and might get a Champions League spot at the end of the season.

I wonder why everyone believe in Bayern Munich so much because of the past glory they have enjoyed in the League. On the chances of Dortmund staying as league leaders, I think it's so high than Bayern Munich winning the League this season,  Dortmund has not been consistent with winning against both small clubs and big teams but looking at the performance of Bayern Munich this season, I think they can only be rated high in the Champions League but in their local League, they have been on and off in teams of good performance and form.


There is a possibility of Dortmund dropping points but the performance of Bayern Munich in their last game doesn't show any good sign for a team that is pushing for the League, they had good opportunities to score goals but they were only able to convert just one goal and at the end they got a dramatic defeat from a penalty that was given by the VAR.  This season is really interesting in the League because it has brought about competition in the League on like when Bayern Munich will be winning the League with 20 to 30 points difference.

Well looking at the statistics, it was a pretty even game between those two teams. Bayern is was leading in terms of ball control and completed passes, but that is the case in almost any game where Bayern is involved and those stats alone do not mean much. In terms of shots and shots on target both teams were almost completely equal. Of course it was pretty weird how the goals of Bayer Leverkusen happened, because i think it has never happened before, that a player got a yellow card for a dive two times and that this decision gets revoked two times and instead a penalty is given to the player. I find it quite strange when Leipzil was defeated by Bochum with a very narrow score of 1-0 and Freiburg was held by Mainz with a 1-1 draw.
You are quite lucky for these two teams because the chasers also lost in their matches. I think there is still a gap of 2 matches with Eintrath Frankfurt so their position is still quite safe.
But what makes me focus is that Leipzig and Freiburg are chasing points and pulling and pushing each other between positions 4 and 5, the difference or difference of only 1 point makes these two teams very tense in their competition. It's true they have to win to get a more secure position or they will be in trouble at the end of this season.

Frankfurt could come from behind and threaten Leipzig and Freiburg right now.  There is still a difference of 5 points between them, but that shouldn't give any comfort.  If Frankfurt wants to take part in the Champions league, it must at least finish in the top 4 places.  That's why I'm sure the champions league race will be more exciting.

Frankfurt were failed to managed their consistency recently and they were losing so many points previously and their positions even threaten by Wolfsburg which is only 2 difference points below to them and if their target want to finish at champion league zone i think Oliver Glasner should be evaluate Frankfurt previous matches and i know 5 points isn't huge difference because it still possible to be achieved but it became so hard if we see other contender such as Freiburg or Leipzig can playing more consistent them

There is no doubt about Champions League race is going to be toughest in this season with six teams are competing here but for them Frankfurt already lost their chance with lost of 10 points in last four games mean things are completely out of their hands now if they win their next three matches then still there is no chance for them to have top four spot because in next 26th round all top teams are going to have easy games which are going to be had no change in spots with just top and second seeded teams have match which will bring changes, but other four will be stayed at their current level which is big challenge now for them.

Resurgent Leverkusen is looking impressive in last few matches and this consistency is giving them good reward for their improved performance and quality with having eight place in Bundesliga table and place in quarter-final of the UEFA Europa Cup things looking good under coach Alonso which is having team in relegation zone but now at the eight spot looking amazing with good challenge for the next season with if they keep this momentum until few more weeks than surely they can fight for the top six where all teams are struggling badly and having problems in their performance.

The improvements come too late for Leverkusen I think. They have been saying for a very long time that they still think they are going to make it into the Champions League, but that isn't going to happen.

As for Dortmund, the next three weeks are crazy. The away game against Bayern Munich and that is the first chance to set themselves apart, but an incredibly hard game. Then the quarter finals in the DFB cup, again an away game against RB Leipzig, and then the home game against Union Berlin.  Domestically, it couldn't get any harder than that I suppose, but if they perform well in those three games they still have the chance to play an amazing season. They could also lose it all. Obviously we are entering the final phase of the season!
