By the way, I remembered my idea that Dortmund will play either in a great mood after reaching the 1/4 of the Champions League, or in a terrible mood after relegation. In both options, they should play well. I think it comes definitely down to whether or not Dortmund scores a fast first goal. I tend towards Dortmund as well as any other result would be a disappointment for them. But there are now a couple of teams who thought it's going to be some easy three points against Schalke and then they couldn't score.

You are asking the right questions, but how do we know if the results are the result of improvements or a deviation from the average? One can only observe, but I would say that even if these are the results of improvements in the game, then random fluctuations will occur towards the average value. As the season began, Union Berlin impressed many people by their performance during this season. Union Berlin has done excellently well this season even beyond anyone's imagination including the fans and owners of the German traditional club. It's actually very good to dream big but I also think that some people are expecting the impossible from the team at the end of the season which is the expectation to see them lift the German Bundesliga. Their manager Urs Fischer deserves to be applauded for the fantastic job he has done at the club this season and going by how he has progressed with the team since 2018 he joined them, I think he'll be lifting the Bundesliga title with the club in few seasons to come. Since May 2021 the activities of the sports director have been distributed on different shoulders. That seems to have worked quite well. But everyone wants to do the job they were hired for. Now everyone else can concentrate 100% on their job again. So I think it was the right decision to hire a sports director again.
But whether Rouven Schröder is the right person for this job or not? Time will tell.

There could be a big surprise from Schalke, but seeing their current form I'm not too sure about that. Borussia Dortmund are now in good shape, even though in the Champions League they had to be eliminated because in the second leg Chelsea won the match with a score of 2-0 and that made Borussia Dortmund really have to leave the Champions League. Eliminating them in the competition will make them focus more on the Bundesliga, because living here they have big hopes now.

Union Berlin has done excellently well this season even beyond anyone's imagination including the fans and owners of the German traditional club. It's actually very good to dream big but I also think that some people are expecting the impossible from the team at the end of the season which is the expectation to see them lift the German Bundesliga. Their manager Urs Fischer deserves to be applauded for the fantastic job he has done at the club this season and going by how he has progressed with the team since 2018 he joined them, I think he'll be lifting the Bundesliga title with the club in few seasons to come. I am very happy to see their performance in the Bundesliga this season, but they are not enough to be able to compete with the 2 clubs that are indeed on the path of competition to become champions. Now Union Berlin is 5 points away from Bayern Munich and also Borussia Dortmund. Their last 3 matches have failed to win a game which means they have to go back to chasing the 2 clubs that are above them now. But apart from all that, this season they are performing well.

After being eliminated from the UCL round of 16, now Dortmund will return to focus on the next bundesliga match. There were positive and negative sides to this result, but now Dortmund is more able to use all its strength to be able to compete for the Bundeliga title with Bayern Munich. Coach Edin Terzic doesn't seem to want to bother with last night's defeat against Chelsea in the UCL and can return to fixing his players with the aim of winning the Bundesliga this season.
