Freiburg seems to have lost its momentum. A draw is too little. They have not played at the level expected of them in recent weeks. The chasers are getting closer slowly  and if Freiburg does not win the next games it will be hard for them to keep place 5 or 6. They have to win their next two games. They should be able to do that against Hoffenheim. And  a win against Mainz would be important to keep them at distance.

Yes, Freiburg has experienced a decline in performance so it is difficult for them to be in the ranking that will put them in the Champions League. I don't rule out their chances of getting to that place, but they have to continue to be able to make themselves better and not lose a lot of points every week. They need to fix what is the problem in their squad, so they can improve their performance to be in a better place.

There is no doubt about Freiburg but here I have to add few more things about this it's not alone Freiburg if you are able to check all teams which are currently at the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th spots losing their momentum and have decline in performance as well which is surely going to hurt them with few teams which are trying their best for having better spot until end of this season can spoil them which is currently not easy but still possible Mainz and Leverkusen both are doing good job which is good sign in league table but still we have good matches which can change the table, and we can surely expect something which is unusual because soccer is game of surprises and shocks and any result is possible in any league and match.

Dortmund's performance has been very good these past few weeks, so it's no wonder why they have succeeded in being ranked 2nd in the current Bundesliga standings and have the same points as Bayern. Bayern must win all matches that will occur in the future, because even a small mistake can blind their position to be shifted by Dortmund. next week dortmund will face schalke, it seems schalke is not a difficult opponent for dortmund.

Dortmund started the second half of the season on an impressive note. where the last 8 matches ended with a win that was able to lift Dortmund's ranking to 2nd place in the standings and equal the points with Bayern Munich. in these 8 matches dortmund was able to score 22 goals overall in those 8 matches. now, with the improved performance of dortmund becoming a serious threat to bayern munich who is the leader of the standings because these two teams scored the same points, one game they failed to win would make the point difference to 3 points.

Bayern and Dortmund are strong candidates in the title race this season as they are more efficient in keeping their hopes up unlike other teams. but behind that is union berlin who could upset these two teams if they lose their best form in the rest of the season.

Union Berlin have started another bad form in the Bundesliga. I must admit that I'm not surprised at all because we have seen it before in this season also.

I don't see it awkward of course because they weren't a team from which people had big expectations before the beginning of the season. They are already performing much better than the expected level. But as of now I assume the expectation level would be at top 4. The supporters must be wishing to see their team in the Champions League next time. They are still a part of the Europa League on one hand and eliminated a challenging competitor like Ajax. I don't know how much they can do more there but one thing is certain that Union Berlin are having a wonderful season anyway.

Union Berlin have really try their best for this season,  this is a team in previous season their performance was not up to what they have this season.  If Union Berlin is not able to maintain the first position,  I still respect the numbers of point they have achieved this session and their performance.

Union Berlin was back in good touch but now suddenly again they are out of the touch with losing seven points from last three matches is surely big setback for them and now next week they are going to visit Wolfsburg if they lost once more than surely they are going to lose their spot with most chances they could be dropped from third to fifth, and then we can expect more drop because confidence level could be also disturbed, and they can face dilemma as after having amazing start of this season now drop in spot could be disaster for them right now few teams are surely improving their quality and performance as they are feeling now we are heading for the end and this is right time for improving performance and having better spot will help until end of this season on positive.

As much as I admire Dortmund for what they have achieved so far this season I'm still having doubt that they can actually win the Bundesliga title. At this point in the league they need a lot of consistency and concentration. They will also be in a lot of pressure to gather the most points they can from every league match they play. Bayern Munich on the other hand are used to this type of pressure. They can be inconsistent all season but when it gets to the point that really matters, they deliver, I cant say the same for Dortmund.
I'm not saying its impossible for Dortmund to win the league, I'm only saying they need to be better than Bayern if they want to win the league. They cant afford to slip up at all because a single mistake and we will see Bayern running away with league as they usually. It would really please me to see Dortmund win the league after such a long time.

I think before they see this game, first they have to focus on the game against Chelsea for the Champions League Leg 2. Even though they are still superior in terms of aggregate and are still benefiting from Chelsea's current performance, this is still a big game so Schalke can still wait and their focus must remain on Chelsea.

The match against Hoffenheim cannot be hard for them. If you take a look at Hoffenheim's recent matches they lost all the recent five games they had with bad results and showed bad performance also they are currently in 16th place in the league in the danger zone while Freiburg got a much better situation and beating Hoffenheim in this match cannot be hard for them. So I guess Freiburg is going to win this game unless something unexpected happens.

Hoffenheim are in bad shape and have lost their last five matches but their last three matches against Augsburg, Dortmund and Mainz has seen them raise their performances. In this matches we could all say that they were unlucky to get a point. They only team that has outplayed them in those matches was Dortmund, the others they did excellently. Their biggest problem at the moment is finding the back of the net. Kramaric as been their source of goals in recent seasons but he is having a difficult season this time around and it is affecting the team even Dolberg his strike pattern is having a hard time scoring. I think once they get their scoring spirit back then they could begin the fight for survival. Freiburg need to be very wary of them this weekend

As a Dortmund fan I can say that we can rest some players for the Schalke game because they are one of the weakest teams in the budesliga and I think we will easily beat them even if we rest some of our best players. It would take a miracle for Schalke to beat Dortmund. They could go ultra defensive and try to keep the game at 0-0 but I do not think their defense is good enough to hang on when we apply constant pressure.

A few weeks ago I would have instantly agreed with you. I still agree that Dortmund is superior and that Schalke won't win that game, at least I am pretty certain about that. But you can say whatever you want, but the defense statistics are strong for Schalke right now. They are the best for the last 6 consecutive games!

Now the question is whether Dortmund. can score a fast goal. Then it is going to be difficult for Schalke because they don't score much themselves and they would have to give up their defense to a certain degree at some point in the game.

The longer they succeed in defending, the higher the chances that they could perhaps achieve a draw against Borussia Dortmund. I am not saying that the chance is high for that outcome, but their defense is rock solid right now.

i wouldn't dare to bet on Dortmund in this match, Schalke can do something there, not winning but at least a draw, they haven't lost in their last 6 matches in Bundesliga, and they are in a bad situation, and desperate times can show the best of them even against a team like Dortmund.

Yeb it will be not an easy game between Schalke against Dortmund and specially after the last weekend where Schalke has won too.
It was and will be already some kind of Derbys like that , that are going to be crazy and intensiv.
I remember years ago when Dortmund was leading with 4 Goals and Schalke managed to make a draw at end.
So all is possible on this match , but if all goes normal Dortmund should be win that , all other would be disappointing.

Dortmund will be defeating schalke easily. Schalke has been showing a positive sign from last give matches. Getting three draws and two win was making schalke to go up again. Dortmund is also still on fire and it wanna continue its mission to get another win. Personally, I don't think Union Berlin will be champion in this season. That seems unlikely to me. This group is not weak. However, the team's performance suddenly dropped. Against Schalke they definitely should have earned full points. But they can't do it. Union Berlin had a poor performance against Schalke. I think Dortmund and Bayern Munich teams are doing much better than Berlin right now. And if Dortmund continues to perform like they are now, Dortmund has a chance to win the title.

Not only you but everyone will definitely not think about conditions like this because the possibility is clearly very small. But what they did this time was really very inconvenient and of course this was something that was really good at making Bayern at least uncomfortable with their current condition.
But at the end of the season, in the end, only Bayern could bring the trophy.

There are some things I don't agree with about this.

I guess that it was definitely just an issue for the short term and they got much better and right now they are playing much better, which is a good thing for them and definitely something I can see myself and agree with.

However, we are not guaranteed to never see that bad Dortmund ever again, they may go back to how they were at the start of the year and start to lose some points as well, it is not a sure thing. I hope that they won't and I hope that they would do a lot better in the long run but I do not know if they could or not.

Well, it all depends on how they continue in the team, if the club's directors bet that it can be an increasingly bigger club, they will be able to do it, now if they start selling their players they will simply disintegrate and the results they have achieved will not be satisfactory I like the fútbol that Dortmund does because it is very showy, you can see the technique of each one of the players, I also like how they are forming their strategies, only with Bayern they have not been able to, however they are going on a very good run if Bayern is careless, Dortmund can surely catch up with them.
