They may have made a plan as soon as they finished last season on how to do well in the new season and they are performing according to that plan. Leverkusen's first goal was to qualify for next season's Champions League anyway, they began their performance with the goal now that winning the Bundesliga title is a much easier equation for them. Apart from doing well in the Bundesliga, this team is doing very well in the Europa League and with the list of the best teams in the Europa League, it is definitely possible for them to win multiple titles this season.
