Essen only scored one goal even though we thought they might do better. Leverkusen was just better and deserved to win. Stadium seemed to be lucky for Leverkusen and they played great game. Overall Leverkusen good playing earned them a win that they deserved.

I don't really understand the flow of this discussion, but it seems like it's between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. For me, several teams have varying chances in the competition for the Bundesliga title this new season. As we are discussing, both Bayern Munich and Leverkusen have varying chances to win or defend the title.
Let's talk from Munich's side first, in terms of player depth, Bayern can be said to be superior to other teams competing in the Bundesliga. However, Vincent Kompany's performance has not been tested at all. As for the pre-season matches they played, they cannot be a definite benchmark in our assessment.

If Leverkusen managed it last year, then someone else could do it this year, it won't be some team like Schalke or something that's just impossible but a team like Leipzig or Dortmund could turn the ship around and have a great year, they are almost always quite close anyway, so just one good season could make it happen. Otherwise, the "expected" result would be either Bayer or Bayern, the yare both quite good and they have a chance to win it like they always do, I think that would be the most possible outcome based on every data.

I think you are wrong. Kompany is doing serious preparation in Bayern Munich. He is in the process of getting to know the players and after getting to know the players, he can start playing the strong, quality and effective football that we are all used to in Bayern Munich. Bayern Leverkusen are showing us that they are getting more prepared for the big season ahead of them which they will also be playing in the champions league to show their greatness and confidence to fight for the league title amongst other top clubs including Bayern Munich that they defeated last season to the league title who are not a first timers or one time show up club in the champions league. I have hope in them that they’ll do well in next season both in the champions league and Bundesliga.
