Alright I just heard from Bittrex Bill.

He wanted to know more about Swing, where it stands, and what's to come. Basically checking if there was progress being made or if it was an abandoned coin.

I told him about the core upgrades in progress, how I've been meeting potential Swing devs, how I plan to redo the website, and how increased marketing and new ideas fit into that roadmap.

The extra volume did help as well (i think without it we would have just gotten delisted), and he's decided to.. well let me just quote:

Quote
Hi,

Thanks for the update. I'll remove the delisting banner and keep the coin listed for another week. Please make sure the volume no longer dips. It's a bad sign for a coin to keep straddling the minimum.

Bill

& the response

Quote
Thank you Bill,

I'll see what I can do to get a more respectable volume going. You're right in that it's not good for my coin, nor is it of much use to you guys. I understand you're running a volume dependent business over there as well.

I appreciate your willingness to cooperate, have a nice night.

That is good news, now all we need is some more people to start trading it, other than the few of us who do.
Anyway keep up the good work and dedication you are showing for this coin and it should work out.

So that being said. Should we talk volume?

Do we want to re-prioritize things?

Currently I've been focused doing the slower, more time consuming, less 'exciting' core upgrade work.

To restate, this is work that's being done to improve the quality and stability of Swing's core. While the majority of users experience no issues using Swing, there have been a few minor reports of wallets de-syncing and losing proper connection to the network.

I'm going to continue progress on this regardless, but I think we should consider prioritizing volume generating tasks given our current scenario.

A website overhaul, and some marketing events might be a smart play.

I'd like to hear people's thoughts. Keep in mind this is a community oriented coin and a group investment, not a dictatorship. Your opinions matter and have an impact.

We are a collective now, I'm just here to help steer the ship at this point.

Nobody? Just me again? Yikes..

Alright.. I'll just keep going then.

I was thinking about running a promotional content contest. Basically giving a time frame for people to create videos / virtual fliers / articles / other promo material, then having a voting period and rewarding the best content with Swing. That way we have some material to market with, it gets people involved, it gets non-informed cryptoheads seeing the contest, and it gets free Swing in some people's hands.

Right, now I want to do something I don't normally do. I'm going to take off my 'lead dev' hat and put on my 'web entrepreneur / investor' hat and speak as if I was only a holder.

What we really need in times like this is a sales funnel and a steady stream of warm traffic. Any good web marketing venture is based around this and it's something that nearly 0 altcoins have. It's not always easy to do, traffic/sales funnels like this can be pretty potent in web marketing. If we can manage to do this properly and hook some reliable traffic into it, we would have a near constant stream of new swing users. In theory.. that could solve our volume rates securing Bittrex, and at the same time create an influx of competitive traders.

If we are ok with a little grey hat marketing, I could probably push a large amount of traffic from twitter users involved in Bitcoin.

Unless I get objections, I think I'm going to focus on trying to re-design TrySwing.com into more of a 'sales funnel' for now. Otherwise I fear we might lose Bittrex.

So i went back a few pages to have a look at activity. What I realized is that we are still REALLY small. We only have like 8 - 10 active swing holders as of late, and the rest are silent un-involved users.

So.. I suppose increasing our user-base should be top priority at this rate.

Also those of you that helped keep swing on Bittrex, just wanted to be sure to say thanks for the effort.

I think there should be some kind of giveaways, maybe IRC tipbot. RBY has trivia bot on irc to win your first rubies. At the moment people are really careful on what they are buying.

Can confirm that I'm having the same experience.
Just checked my wallet and I don't have the same steady flow of stakes that I have become accustomed to.
Also for fun tried to make a tiny transfer to Yobit, it's not going anywhere.

Blockchain is moving again. Seems that there was at least sudden drop of network weight. It was over 1 M earlier and now it is 250k. I have no idea about net hashrate changes.
