- Yes there are absolutly different with data signals taking from schimitt triggered hex buffers. Look at bm1385 PDF. -i dont know which chips series or parallel on this new 135 chip board. 15 series possible. if feed 12 optimum 0.8V, if feed 10 min 0.66V. but we know this is overclocked model, finally you cannot feed 10V for 700Mhz. -i dont know but i dont think so, this is not step up or down buck converter because this coil needs large mosfets and controller, i dont see them yet I do not think the data signals etc. are relevant to the discussion on the reduced string length and the Capacitors & Inductors on the 135 Chip version of the S7. However my theory for why I think there may be a Buck Converter chip on the other side of the PCB is that without it the Core Voltage applied to each ASIC in the 15 Chip string would be 0.8V which is way too high and would have a detrimental effect on the efficiency of the miner. What we need is a picture of the other side of the PCB. Rich

i am not afraid bad electronic - thermal - software designs I AM AFRAID FROM THIS I am sorry but I am begining to doubt the points you are making and any connection between "bad electronic - thermal - software designs" and that you are then concerned about a detail in the protocol which appears to indicate that when a number is reached the Core stops Hashing...... All seems very random to me? Rich

Hopefully batch 7 isn't to far behind since batch 6 and 7 have the same approx ship dates.
Does anyone know if they are going to make a batch 9? I'm pretty sure they will. We may see a Batch 9 once Batch 8 is close to completely sold.

The interesting "game" is guessing what it will be? Will it be a chip count / speed that we have seen already or something new? Following the recent trend I think we are due for another 162 Chip Miner perhaps the same as Batch 7 with 5063GH/s? Although pending further information on exactly what the changes are and some feedback from people taking delivery I am liking the look of further releases of a Batch 8 style with 135 chips & 4725GH/s. batch 6 shipped last night - supposed to arrive friday but my batch 5 are still stuck in customs My batch 5 was stuck in customs as well because Bitmain overstated the value at over $7000 per miner. I just had to call FedEx and email them a screen shot of my order and state that the value was overstated due to human error. They'll also want to know what the miner does. This explanation got it released right away,"This particular item is a collection of computer processors called ASICs that perform a specific computational task. Alone, this component does nothing. Once I assemble other pieces and attach the ASICs it solves complex computer math problems. In the most simplest of terms, it is just a computer component." Hope this helps. Years ago when FedEx asked me what the shipment was, I told them they were complex calculators. Released immediately.

i'd say S7 "+" would be coming soon 162 chips version (using the better chips production batch) x 2 single controller 10.5 th/s, roughly abt 11 th/s +/-5% power has to be 12V +5% & up price won't be cheap, 11 BTC ? it's a pre-order !
just my guess . . .

My opinion is when the new rig put up for sale has less hash rate while consuming more watts it should be priced lower. At present, the rigs are priced at .001 BTC per GH/s. When the rigs are lower hash rate and less power efficient, they should be priced at 0.0009 BTC to 0.00095 BTC per GH/s. 4,730 GH/s x 0.00095 BTC = 4.4935 BTC + shipping 4,730 GH/s x 0.00090 BTC = 4.257 BTC + shipping

Has anyone received any compensation for any s-7 any batch if it under hashes or if it was late.
My batch 1 came on time as I was a very early order. But it now has become a slow machine .
I don't get 4860 gh as promised .
I never over clocked it. I use an evga 1600 p2 psu. it is providing 11.94 volts to all 10 pcie jacks.
It used to do 4800 then 4700 then 4600 now it is down to 4500. Maybe more like 4400.
So this piece of gear is becoming very disappointing.
my other one is very good So I have a dog and a good one.

That rig sounds like an RMA. It's still under warranty. EDIT: No, I have not received compensation for my shipment that was 4 days late for 9 x S7's.

EDIT: No, I have not received compensation for my shipment that was 4 days late for 9 x S7's. after a hour of looking at what could be wrong I may have found the problem. may be my error. my psu's volts dropped from 12.01 to 11.80 and I know that is an issue. Iplayed with psu and it is now doing 12.01 volts. I think the psu did not get enough space for cooling off and dropped it volts a bit. I will need to keep a closer eye on it for a day or two. so my good one does 4890gh with .0001 errors and this troubled one is now back to 4730 at freq 581 with 0.0111 errors they owe me on time with the good one as it was a few days late. but it runs so well I am more forgiving.

well if everybody waits there wont be a batch 9 lol. I got a batch 8, i'll be honest. i'd have gotten a batch 7, but i was a few coins short. any case, I dont get the hate over the batch 8...there is a lot more to it than just a higher clock rate edit: I would prefer a 7, but after my purchase i had 0.025btc left im not rich like you guys

Just think about it: Batch 8 uses 1293 W to get 4.73 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2734 J/GH Batch 7 uses 1278 W to get 5.06 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2573 J/GH Batch 6 uses 1042 W to get 4.05 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2572 J/GH Batch 5 uses 1210 W to get 4.86 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2490 J/GH Batch 4 uses 1160 W to get 4.66 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2489 J/GH Batch 3 uses 1210 W to get 4.86 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2490 J/GH Batch 2 uses 1160 W to get 4.66 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2489 J/GH Batch 1 uses 1210 W to get 4.86 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2490 J/GH It is all about efficiency 24 hours a day! Looks to me that the Efficiency is going down.

Hi Guys, I have just installed my 3rd S7 with 1 more on the way (Batch . S7 #1, v1.7 / 4.66 S7 #2, v1.7 / 4.66 S7 #3, v2.0 / 4.46 S7 #4, Batch 8 What batches are the first 3? All at clocked at 600mhz, and all them at frequently touching 5TH with 50% fan settings 3600-3720 RPM steady at 57c-61c temp. The HW errors are also very low at 0.01% I am really pleased with my vertical design, because now I can house them in soundproof cage and improve the heat exhaust greatly. Thanks to all the expert advise from this thread and others. Let me know if I can further improve my rig. Note: I will post some pix as soon as I figure out how to do it ...:-)

Here is a pic of all of my miners shown (11) right now. I had 3 overheat when the internet went out and I have shipped them back to Bitmain. I am waiting for their return. Electric is about 25% of my total cost per month. That comes out to be about $3700 per month with a $1000 electric bill. I had 26 S5's before and sold them all to get the S7's at the end of September. I have maxed out my electric power and will be installing 20 S7's (11 in the pic and 7 more on order) in a data center in mid December. I will show pictures when I get them set up in a 42U Cabinet. Here they are in my basement: Here is a pic of the back side: Let me know if you have any questions.
