Here is a pic of all of my miners shown (11) right now. I had 3 overheat when the internet went out and I have shipped them back to Bitmain. I am waiting for their return. Electric is about 25% of my total cost per month. That comes out to be about $3700 per month with a ....
Bitmain didnt fix the internet problem yet ?? Did smith already have done a upgrade of the firmware to fix this ??

wow... 11 x S7s.... its a long way still for me to reach that level. With that many S7... I think it's better to put it in proper home like a full fledge DC. How much does a DC charges in your country?

Wasn't it determined that putting the fans on a manual speed would alleviate this issue? I think that the OP did not have them on manual. Manual actually is more like an upper limit and at manual fan speed is still fluctuating downward when warranted, so setting manual at 75% (or even 70%) basically solves this for almost all contingencies sans ambient of 40C. 10/23 vs 9/15 soft DOES NOT solve this.

Has anyone received any compensation for any s-7 any batch if it under hashes or if it was late.
My batch 1 came on time as I was a very early order. But it now has become a slow machine .
I don't get 4860 gh as promised .
I never over clocked it. I use an evga 1600 p2 psu. it is providing 11.94 volts to all 10 pcie jacks.
It used to do 4800 then 4700 then 4600 now it is down to 4500. Maybe more like 4400.
So this piece of gear is becoming very disappointing.
my other one is very good So I have a dog and a good one.
Same Here, I have 2 Batch 1 units. one of them is slowly getting lower. Now at 4.65 and the other is 4.8 with a OC to 612. Only way I can get it to stay around 4.8. The first unit that getting slower, can't take any OC without err going sky high. Quite disappointed and should have skipped Batch 1

after an hour of looking at what could be wrong I may have found the problem. may be my error. my psu's volts dropped from 12.01 to 11.80 and I know that is an issue. Iplayed with psu and it is now doing 12.01 volts. I think the psu did not get enough space for cooling off and dropped it volts a bit. I will need to keep a closer eye on it for a day or two. so my good one does 4890gh with .0001 errors and this troubled one is now back to 4730 at freq 581 with 0.0111 errors they owe me on time with the good one as it was a few days late. but it runs so well I am more forgiving.

Haven't been here for quite a while and in fact I'm not really in the loop since S4, just took a look at their website.
So why is efficiency going down? How comes B7 was 5.06 TH/s and B8 only 4.73 TH/s? Any hint at S7+ or S8?

Look at number of chips and freq. Decent design change. They keep changing amount of hash about every batch. It's getting hard to follow. And nothing official on what's next. They are keeping pretty quiet on it.

Keeping track of S7 batch / Spec is quite tricky. Reason for difference is that B7 is 162 Chips at 625MHz and B8 is 135 Chips at 700MHz This from Bitmain Rich

Thanks for clarifying. I assume more chips at lower freq are the better choice?

Thanks for clarifying. I assume more chips at lower freq are the better choice?
At the moment that is a difficult question to answer as noone has a Batch 6 or 8 which are the 135 chip systems. As a generality though within a given chip count of S7 be that 162 or 135 chip I think that a Higher Default Frequency represents a better system. Until we understand exactly what they have done with the 135 chip systems and in particular have they added a Buck Converter & if so is that Buck Converter software or otherwise adjustable? Then when we know the actual efficiency it should be possible to decide between 162 & 135 chips. Bitmain of course is not presenting it in this way with each revision just having a price, chip count, GH/s & an efficiency which is always presented as 0.25J/GH, albeit that the 135 chip systems have a +10% on that... Yeah, they don't seem to be in a hurry with the compensation. I wrote emailed them last week and the best answer they could give was "real soon now". Not that it matters much. With the swell in difficulty, I doubt that the early batches will ROI in raw BTC terms before the reward cuts in half.

I am assuming / guessing that the only difference between the 3 firmware versions is the Default Frequency. If you select the same frequency I would expect the same result with any of them. Rich

No, I have not had any problem wording the 1600W PSUs from Bitmain. I have been ordering about 2 per week with no problems.
