When it comes down to it, it has to mine the number of BTC back that I paid for it and not fiat since BTC to fiat as we all know changes. But I'm not in it to make a fortune. I just enjoy the hobby and if it pays back then it pays back. If not, at least I'm having fun.

I'm not sure who got the best deal there was the time where BTC surged fastly and they were fixed USD pricing. Seems there were "bargains" then but I cant remember exact price just that it was cheap as far as BTC. When btc hit around 350ish if any purchased btc around that and bought a B9. That might be also one of the better deals. So unexpected and unpredictable things are what create "deals" I think For most part they are able to keep price pretty even. But there was a few drops to I guess in there.

I think he's probably pretty happy about his choice now but I could be wrong since the price had dropped a bit.

Interesting that he lost fiat value. I would like to see that loss vs a batch 1 S7 once the S7 is done and possibly sold to a second owner. I think a lot forget that miners these day's will be mined by people with decent to normal electricity. And for most part now they instead of sitting in corner unplugged will be sold to cheap/"free" electricity users. So can't forget about the sell at end when thinking about ROI.

I had plenty of loss on buying many BTC at $480 and also buying quite a few S7 at much higher price. Just the way this game works. But dollar cost averaging does help, I'm happy I got some at $890, I chose wire instead of BTC since I purchased my BTC at much higher prices. But I also prepaid some Batch 9 at higher prices so I'm no Wiz at market timing by any means, else I wouldn't lose my fortune in the casino we call stock market. =)

In the Bitmain purchase PO is states it has to arrive in 3 days. So if you order today and wire on Tuesday morning I do not see it getting to them before the order expires. Yesterday I sent an email to bitmain, saying more or less when they began to send the miner batch 9, if they met the timing, but nothing to do, no answer, perhaps I heard back from bitmain tomorrow Monday January 18

Just FYI to people that check. Myself and at least 3 others have received ZERO compensation from Bitmain as well as had our tickets deleted from the ticketing system. Not 'closed' or 'resolved', but totally gone.
GOOD JOB BITMAIN. LIVING UP to the expectations of many.

I guess we'd have to compare his BTC vs the amount of profit mined from the batch 1 S7 plus the potential resale value of the S7.

As far as I remember, whoever bought BTC when Bitmain started selling preorders in August made out well since BTC was around $240. However, buying BTC after S7 started shipping was a different story at close to $500.

Decided to do this again instead of buying an S7 Good luck everyone. Boy did I pick a bad day to buy or what ? *sighs* Had another urge to buy a miner. A Batch 3 S7. Decided to do this again, instead. PACMiC v4 looks to be a loser. Good luck everyone. And the buy button just went live, despite the large expense, I wonder how long until they sell out of batch #1?
Good luck to everyone buying these ! Looks like some great gear, but this time around, instead of buying a fancy new miner, I did the following and will HODL. Lets see which will be the better investment 9 months down the road.

But you do show a track record of pretty good investment's which I applaud you for. Are there any losers you have not shown? It seems like you could have not been right 100 percent of time?

The Nov.4 purchase has been my only loser (so far; given the price of ~$385 USD at the time of this posting). I got caught in the emotion of that rally, and went against my better judgement.
