I suspect most, if not all, of the S7s they are selling right now are what they've been running in their mines for a while and so the reduced price reflects the "used" nature of the devices without them coming out and selling them as "used". The next gen of chips in on the horizon, so they want to get as much out of these as they can. I can't wait for the S7 used market to take off in the coming months, then I can get one. I hope to see them around ~$200 used soon.

I hope to see them around ~$200 used soon. Me too. I am also waiting for the cheaper price to come... But considering that s5s are still commonly sold for 200$ on places like amazon and ebay, i'll expect people will start selling them for around 300$ each. I only have a budget of 200$, so if they get that cheap around july (halving will KILL prices) i'll start buying em. Profit per day is sharply dropping, so I expect that these cheaper batches are just a result of bitmain trying to offload their current s7s. If these come in to people used, don't be surprised. You got them for cheap for a reason, but there is still a warranty, so it's still a good deal.. at least for now. The difficulty drop could have been because antpool unplugged their s7s to get them up for sale. Purely speculation though.

Since no real news on Bitfury other than speculations, I might go for another 10-20 x S7. I think Bitfury really dropped the ball by being all talk and no show of product and pricing by now. I was saving some amperage for them but since all talk and no news, I'm going to get some more S7 instead.

It's not currently worth it for me, though. I still think i'll wait for bitfury's "chip" that might never come out. I have 0.1$/kwh electricity, and i'd lose money buying these. Still a cool product, and once price drops I might buy one of these just to experiment with these. ATM roi is impossible because of my electrixity.Cool miners, but I think i'll just mine at a loss for fun. Gotta hit a block one day, no matter how long it takes.

It also says:
The coupons assigned before Chinese holiday is still valid
So I guess the ones that expired on March 2nd are still valid for batch 12.
I have to check on that info thanks. IT does clearly state that and I have 11 coupons not used. But when I went to order it refused to allow coupons. Soooo once again an annoyance from bitmaintech. So @ bitmaintech please fix it. @ everyone looking to order please email them about this. no sense to get screwed out of a coupon. I sent an email to Yoshi Maybe he will fix it. My coupons are not usable anymore and cannot use them for Batch 12. here is the screen with the info I also have a full pdf. of it. Anyone heard back? I still have a few coupons and are ready to buy a bunch more S7s. The coupons would be a bonus.

Why is everybody saying PEERCOIN is up? It seems to be the same price as it was before. Its just as profitable as BTC.

Why is everybody saying PEERCOIN is up? It seems to be the same price as it was before. Its just as profitable as BTC.
People are just confused. It occasionally rises up over bitcoin, but it's generally unstable and not a good coin to mine. I'm guessing this is being fed by coinwarz.com. They're not the best source for market price but everybody seems to look at them for information. They're wrong most of the time, though. Possibly somebody bumped market price, I dont know but i'll look into it tomorrow when I have time.

This is a pretty stupid response if you ask me especially since their Batch 12 pages said we can still use coupons offered before Chinese New Years which is the ones I have. Fortunately I was able to donate many of them before they expired. From: Bitmain Technologies Limited < info@bitmaintech.com> To: Nhan Do < nhan_do1@yahoo.com> Sent: Monday, March 7, 2016 9:49 PM Subject: Re: S7 Coupon Hi, coupons are automatically generated, and if they expired we cant prolong them! The update on Batch 12 says that all coupons before Chinese New years are still valid. My coupons for .05 discount was from before Chinese New Years. How come I can't apply them to my order? Please advise as I'm ready to order 7 more units. thanks, Nhan

ok so i got my s7 today, set it all up.. holy crap, it whistles.. so loud.. im guessing because the front fan is pushing more air then the rear fan can expel and air is coming out all of the holes on the top.. so annoying ;(
if i put my hand infront of the rear fan it stops.. im guessing because the air pressure makes the rear fan speed up.. i kind of dont want to put something in front of the fan.. any ideas? maybe if i take the rear fan off and put a washer or something making a small space behind the fan and the case?

Someone put a small piece of cardboard in a corner and it made it stop, might want to check that out before you try to figure out something more complex.

For some reason you have a board that doesnt like that low or something. Did you try a power cycle reboot to 600?

Im convinced now Bitmain doesnt give 2 shits about the customers. Between the HUGE lack of customer service and them totally killing the potential resale value these pieces of metal once held. Oh and selling used miners with burn marks.......but what would one expect from a chinese company thats unregulated.

well its been about an hour on my new s7.. temps are 56, 59, and 57. its running at stock 700.. i was going to underclock it and try to use the one 1300W psu, but i decided to run it full speed and use a 750W psu to power one of the boards instead.
it makes a wind tunnel noise, kind of hollow sounding... its nice that i fixed the howling fan, sucks i might have to get a new fan when i start up my s5 again.
i wonder if i stick some foam padding on the outside if it will quiet down the hollow sounding. or maybe a foam padded box with fan holes. maybe just cut holes in the box it came in. if i cut the box in a H pattern i can fold in the tabs and use those as air ducts..
i saw the one post where the guy put it in a air duct.. but i dunno about that. those ducts are expensive.

The ducts are sometimes expensive but not always. You can try using a pwm fan from noctua and using that, but the cfm from those is a bit on the low side and s7s tend to not like those fans. They run real hot with those but if you hate heat, dont use em.Ducts are cheap and work well. Bitmain didn't work on cooling very well.. considering s7s are nearly the same size as s5s and s3s. They still have a good miner, but they might want to think about cooling for their future miners. S7s under and overclock very well, so if you wanted to do that to make it quieter, it works.

S7s under and overclock very well, so if you wanted to do that to make it quieter, it works. the s7 fan is 4500 RPM, the s5 fan is 4100 RPM and i have 2 AFB1212SHE fans that are 3800 RPM and i also have a TFC1212DE fan that spins at 5800 RPM.. altho that thing is loud enough to hear outside through the walls. and a few s3 fans not sure what the max speed those are.. they never got above 2000 RPM in the s3. tomorrow i am going to play around and see if i can find a good combo. with the enclosed case, and the high static 4400 rpm fans i think its causing a lot of pressure, causing the air to make the noise. it kind of looks like they didnt do any kind of research at all trying to see what would work best.. if you can get the air to flow better it might even cool them off better. might even run to frys to get a cheap 4.99 120mm fan to break the insides out and use as a spacer to see if that helps. i did already notice that fan 3 slows down at a steeper curve then fan 1, so maybe if i can split the fans with a Y cable and run them at the same speed instead of one slower then other it might help
