Used SoloEasy tool to get the cgminer running, intensity at 20, averaging about 630 khash atm.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Dont be affraid to play with 11.2 and the thread concurrency of 8192 with your 7970s.  In my rigs I have to overclock even further and use even more electricity to get the same hash rate on 11.3 as I do on 11.2.  Needless to say I have stayed with 11.2!!!

Just reinstalled Windows 8 from scratch.  I have 2 7950's.  All I had to do to get cgminer running was install the latest beta drivers and everything started working.

Solo mining atm, 685khash/s, overclocked the card to 1100/1500,70° at full load.

Should i push the card even more? 70° is pretty decent at fulll load, isnt it?
the card is a 7970.

I've come to a conclusion that cgminer 2.11.3 is a lot faster than 2.11.4 on my 7970 cards. I can get up to 15-25 kHash/s more on the older version. I hope others will try and report here if that also applies to you.

Thanks for this guide. I am having a small problem with 2x 7950s on win 7.
Whenever I pool (coinotron, ozcoin) mine at intensities greater than 12, I get 90% HW errors and can only get around 200khash / card
However, when I solo mine I jack the settings all the way up to -I 20 for ~600khash / card with 0 HW errors.
So my main question is, when solo mining, does cgminer detect and display your HW errors? Or is HW error detection built into more sophisticated pool software?
Would really suck to be hashing garbage forever and not know it.

Anyone here have newest sapphire 7970 vapor-x with 8+8 pin's? Any mining results? Power consumption?

If you are ever getting hardware errors, you need to fix your settings.

Do not use Reaper. Ever.

My question is: will cgminer even display HW errors in solo mode? Or does everything just stay at 0?

I was poolmining with intensity 20, cgminer showed my hash rate being about 700kh/s, but the pool registred <10 kh/s.

I lowered intensity to 13,and now the pool accepts my shares much more frequently.

cgminer shows the 580kh/s rate atm.

Is that a common problem? i should be able to poolmine at higher intensity, right?

EDIT:

Think i finally managed to sort out my poolmining ! Smiley

I have ATI HD 7970, currently getting 606 kh/s.

My clocks are GPU 1125 and memory 1575. Using cgminer 2.11.4. (Maximum overclock, this card comes with 925 and 1375 stock clocks and it is stable)

How do you guys get close to 700, I have tried playing with my clocks, tried to get 0.57 ratio between GPU and memory, no luck. Drivers are 13.1.

My current setting are --worksize 256 -g1 -I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192

Any ideas?

Thx

I have nearly identical settings to yours, but i have -g2 instead.

But you probably have different card. When I go with g2, I get much lower hash.

Skip the worksize and the -g1 setting.  Get your memclock higher-> closer to 0.57-0.60.  Then up your intensity to minimally 18 then you should see higher hashes.

Tired of substandard power distribution in your ASIC setup???   Chris' Custom Cablez will get you sorted out right!  No job too hard so PM me for a quote

try this  -g 2 -I 13 --shaders 2048 -w256

use cgminer 2.11.4 do not set thread-concurrency let cgminer detect the best value for your cards, maybe try the last beta drivers 13.3, i get more than 720 kh/s with core1040/memory1750 with vcore unervolted and vmemory overvolted , i did order Arctic extreme cooler tried it on 1 card and it is amazing I am getting around 67 c°with these setting comparing to the other cards that are running @ 86 c° I did order more coolers for the other cards, it is worth every cent I did give.

No luck when trying to skip worksize and g1 settings, getting exactly the same, 606.  Regarding memclock, I do not think I can go higher, Catalyst control center shows 1575 as max for my card. Is there any other way to increase its speed?

No luck here either, g2 instead of g1 cuts my hash to 400. Will try the new drivers, although I see people still complain bout them a lot.

you have to do some work around, each card model differ , do not get so pulled with the settings posted here , in my case the myth  of 0.57 doesn’t work  , i am using a sapphire dual-x with 925/1375 and I was struggling to get them to work @ 700+kh/s I did post a guide that you can check it, but it really vary not from the card only but i did notice that even the motherboard, in my case i am using 2 diffrent motherboard models but the same model of graphic cards on both motherboards, in the first model I get 720 kh/s so easy , the second model was a pain in the ass , for the same cards i use different Over Clockings to get the same hash rate  .

I am trying to tell you that getting the right configs for scrypt mining is not that easy, you have to play around to get that sweet spot for your cards, you can take a look here https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison

when I was just starting few months ago i got really confused , take a look at the list and see how 7970 really differ in matter of OC and hash rate. I do not know how this will help you, but at least you have a clear understanding of your problem which i wish you will be solving soon, now the LTC community is bigger and you will fast solve your issues , it took me 3 weeks to get my shit up when i just started few months ago.

good luck

How can you set, "g" value in the cgminer config file?
