Who is watching match between Harrison and Nishioka ATP Sydney? Nishioka is leading the first set by 4 - 3 and going to serve now.

I am following the livescore, I have a bet on Ryan Harrison, of course he is down   But it's not over. I must confess Yoshito Nishioka is insanely talented, he won a title last year, his game is special, very good left hand but I really thought on this surface the American could prevail thanks to his serve. Not over yet but not looking too good at the moment.

I feel you. The odd for Harrison is now 16/1 since he is 2 games down in the 2nd set. He must need to hold this game and rest of the games of this set or he is out unfortunately.

Nishioka is playing really well.

Straight away I really the odds of Frances Tiafoe, I mean why on Earth John Millman should be that big clear of a favorite in this match.
Ok, Millman plays very well at home, managed a win over Federer last year but come on he should not be favored that big.

Tiafoe's forehand, even though it looks awkward, is a big weapon. And the guy is so quick on the court. I think his odds are the results of the exhibition tournament he played last week. But well, different week and official tournament, he will try hard tomorrow, I really like his odds @ 2.53.

It was utterly stupid pick (harrison to win against nishioka)... ok the match is finished now and we can see it was routine 1h12min win for Japanese player. You guys didn't do a homework, you need full study before the event. Nishioka took win here with ease, two sets probably never get tight and competitive. Reasons why I see this stupid bet: 1. Head to head (Nishioka has already a win vs R. Harrison, match played in Acapulco 2017. 2. that win came in pretty much same conditions (hard court and Australia / New Zealand means hot and humid), 3. tennis is not only service (Nishioka is more stable player, simply moving quicker around the court). 4. Nishioka already played more matches in 2019. 4 matches played so far and this was only 2nd appearance for American in new year. 5. japanese played qualifications here so he already acclimatized and took scent of court and playing conditions.

Ryan Harrison was never convincing versus lefties, throughout his career he played 71 time vs left hand opponents and achieved 37 wins and 34 defeats (including this one against Nishioka).37-34 win-loss indicates his issues with left hand. Some recent matches vs lefties: 28-May-2018 defeated by Marterer (Roland Garros), 2-Jul-2018 defeated by Mannarino (Wimbledon) then he took win against Cameron Norrie and now again defeat vs Nishioka.

Ops, I had no idea that you do tips for tennis. I was just hanging around. I love tennis, football, cricket, beach volleyball etc types of sports. I used to be a gambling addict but now a days I don't gamble. Last time I was gambling 2 days ago in dice. But lost and this was first time after 5 to 6 years of gambling gap LOL

This thread has recently blown up with posts which is great to see as at one stage it was just myself, Kemarit and one or two other guys posting in here. I'm really liking Alex de Minaur in the Sydney International to maybe go all the way and win the tournament, he has been playing some very good tennis coming off a very successful 2018 so I think he has a big chance at winning.

Nadal was in action last night in the fast4 tennis event where he was up against Kyrgios, Nadal ended up losing the match but it gave him a chance to get some fitness up ahead of the Australian Open. It looked like he got through the match okay so hopefully he will be right for the Australian Open, I'm not sure if he will be 100% fit but even at 80% Nadal is a tough person to beat.

Cannot deny it was a bad bet. Unfortunately I tend to lose objectivity when Ryan Harrison is in the draw, because I am a fan of him.

I started rooting for Ryan back in 2009 during his close match at the US Open, lost to Sergyi Stakhovsky. It is funny because he lost the match, and since then he keeps losing. Of course not all the time, but he loses a lot of them. Yesterday I won $500 on a parlay where I included high odds (Joao Sousa included), so I thought I would bet $30 to support my guy. Of course it is not the right to bet, but we are humans. I just thought Ryan would put more effort into the match.

I got the autograph of Ryan Harrison when he played in Taipei (I think it was 2014 or 2015). He is a nice guy. In that tournament, he beat a local player very comfortably but then pulled out due to injury. The story of his career.
When I saw him live, his serve did not look that big but that's probably because Sam Groth was playing earlier on.

in Brisbane, even though Ryan lost, I noticed he went for his backhand more. I thought this shot could make the difference against the Patty Schnyder of the mens tour yesterday, but it was a poor day for him. I hope we will see more big wins from Ryan, just like he did in Acapulco a few years ago. He is still very young, I am confident he has a bright future ahead of him. He is an incredible player who can hit the ball with a lot of pace and precision.

To follow today, I am curious to watch Alex De Minaur versus Reilly Opelka, the two players are polar opposites. Reilly Opelka will try to go to the net the most often he can, but the Aussie is a fantastic defender and still a firm favorite (odds: 1.38). I was a little disappointed with him though last week, thought he could be good enough to counter an old version of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. He has great defense no doubt but needs to get more weapons. I am still convinced he will win at least an ATP title this season.

Pouille was continually knocked back by the pace of the ball coming at him, with the court playing quite fast in the heat. He found himself down a set and a break before he could get into the match at all, and such a quick first set also didn’t allow time for Rublev to have one of his usual dips. The Russian simply wasn’t missing much though, dominating play with his power and never facing a breakpoint, and Pouille’s lack of a plan B to break that rhythm became painfully apparent. Lucas Pouille is now working with Amelie Mauresmo, not sure how it will work out, she should be a good coach and the effects of the teaming won't become apparent straight away anyway, but yes he's been a massive disappointment last twelve months. Cannot believe he made it to the top 10 for a few weeks, taking advantage of weak fields in small events.

Hope Andrey Rublev will deliver this season, even though his game is really one dimensional at the moment.

Exactly, nice to see this thread come to life again with so many fans and not just fans but offering a lot of tips and analysis of the game. As a have said before, Alex de Minaur is the future of Australian tennis and it will be just a matter of time for him to be the a future Grand Slam winner.

Bad sign, it only shows that he is not fully recuperated and might need some time to heal this body. Again, he is not getting any younger, might be another reason why his body is slow to react to rehab or medicine. Might be good for him to take some time off and let his body healed 100%.

Last match of WTA - SINGLES woman Hobart of the first round in play in between Sakkari and Linette. The winner is going to face Minnen in the 2nd round. Both Sakkari and Linette are doing very well. Linette is trying hard to break Sakkari but Sakkari is doing very well. Both of them are enjoying their time.

Otherwise, for tomorrow, I love the odds of Diego Schwartzmann @ 1.73 to beat Guillermo Garcia Lopez. The latter is pretty much done as a player, in relative terms, the reason of those odds is probably the fact that the Spaniard has played several matches this season, while Diego Schw. has played none so far. Also, the Argentinean can be inconsistent when he is short of energy (his game requires a lot of energy!) but at these odds 1.73 no brainer for me, I'll play it and hope it hits tomorrow.

This is a very human behavior actually But the thing I love about my favorite players is that I know them very well, because I support them. Another player I usually know when he will lose is Kei Nishikori, of course I am not right every time but I seem to know him so well because he is one my favorites.

You are talking about Hurkacz Hubert? Well looking at his portfolio it's not easy so say.

I did a little search and the stats says that both Wang and Hurkacz are having good time in the recent past. Hurkacz won 6 out of last 10 match where Wang  won 8 out of last 10. Although bookies are keeping Hurkacz ahead. If I follow the odds from the bookies then chances for Hurkacz  to win is high but these bookies are not always right by the way.
