Okay, scalability solutions are probably on par with Ethereum in terms of what can be done. I'd remove that from the "5 qualities" list then.

IOTA and Ethereum are situated on the opposite ends of "Complexity", all other cryptcoin are somewhere in-between, being on par with Ethereum means that Ethereum was coded by superhumans... Maybe you are right.

Haha, yeah, what I mean is that scalability solutions are similar in that they are both of sound theory and manually capable, but not included in the core. You could say both Ethereum and Iota solve the scalability problem with the same likely-hood and shouldn't be marketed as such...yet.

I am a manual claim holder. I generated a seed and addresses, and sent David the addresses. I checked the published snapshot and the addresses I sent David have correct balances. Question: do I need to check my seed usìng,

https://service.iotatoken.com/upgrade?seed=XXX&address=999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

If my addresses show correct balances, can I avoid risk of sending seed over the internet? Can I check my seed on my local PC? I feel very nervous sending seed over internet, is it encrypted using this service, or visible as plain text?
ok. may I ask when your manual claim was completed?
I did also a manual claim, but didn't receive anything yet.

Check your manual claim addresses in the proposed snapshot.
https://github.com/domschiener/snapshot/blob/master/snapshot.csv

The network is paused at the moment, so manual claims are not completed as such, but you can check your addresses in the snapshot.

Thank you for your answer.
I couldn't find my address in the snapshot.
I don't know if this is a problem cause I thought manual claims aren't included yet Huh

It looks like manual claims are included in the current snapshot. I also claimed manually, and I can see my address is present in snapshot.csv, though it is missing in old_snapshot.csv.

However the addresses in snapshot seem to be truncated (my address miss the last 9 symbols). Not sure why... Try to search for your address using only first 5-10 symbols. It might be there...

Last 9 'address' characters were changed a few months ago:

https://github.com/iotaledger/iota-gui-beta/releases/tag/1.0.1

Quote
Switched the address checksum (last 9 chars) to Curl instead of SaM.

I'm confused about the re-claim. Re-claim from WHEN? When was the snapshot date? How does this effect old tx and balances?

Deadline to claim? I'm out of the country and need to RETURN to access my seed. etc.

Thanks,

Thanks,

snapshot date was afaik while the network was down, so TXs that were not confirmed at that time are not included

deadline afaik (no guarantee) july 2017. so no need to return.  Wink

Cool. I had confirmed TX months ago. I have not touched the seed since. I moved all my funds to a MAX security account - so I should be good on that front.

Still, I'm assuming everyone MUST re-claim AGAIN. Regardless of when my tx was confirmed (months ago).
