Others though are quickly to criticized Austin Reaves as they said they found a loophole on his game and that is his defense. There were moments that he did guard someone bigger than him in the post and so obviously it's hard for him to guard those players, but sometimes he over react and then in foul trouble in the FIBA tournament.

However, for the next season in the NBA, it might be a different looks though. Lakers had a solid defense overall, and with the addition of big men Hayes and Wood, for sure there will be more rim protection for them.

For sure he will have a big impact on this team when he is on the floor. He dominated the NBA in the last 3 years, winning 2 MVPs and then won the Finals last year. I think it will be huge for the Serbians team if he is on the lineup. On the contrary, it could be a blessing though, as their opponent will not guard their main offensive weapon in Jokic. So they really don't know who will take over in certain games, in short they become unpredictable, without Jokic and it make them hard to deal with.

However, there's a catch here: Serbia lost to Italy in a close game, while Germany hasn't lost a single game. So, I expect this to be a close game, and I believe the advantage is with Germany as they know how to handle winning in close games, like their games against Australia and, of course, the USA.

It's a battle of the best offensive team vs the best defensive team right now. Both teams got a chance because Serbia rallied back in the last 3 minutes of the fourth quarter, just a few seconds to the clock though but it's still early to say who they cannot make it and Germany got the same chances as well. The guy has an understanding of how a lot of other players play. He knew the dynamics of the game on a very personal level and even though he's not considered an all-star in NBA, he can still carry his own in the big leagues as evidenced by their win and his outstanding performance in the finals. I consider NBA as the toughest basketball league in the world, and FIBA just comes second. So your statement that anyone who has experience in the NBA can perform well enough in FIBA, too. It's just that team play is really the name of the game in FIBA compared to NBA's foul mechanics and banking on superstars.

Yeah, that's true. He was itching to go home after the Finals and I think he just wanted to spend his time in peace with his horses.

Aw, no Looney? That's a way far small ball and I think Steph will be the target of the opponent's offense most of the time. I don't underestimate his defensive skills but that had been the norm even before. The only good part of this will be the spreading of the floor but they will have a big trouble if they try to make an offensive rebound. They will be 1 shot and done. On the other end, their opponents could try a 2nd or even a 3rd opportunity to shoot it using their big men.
I don't know, I kind of do not like this kind of strategy and it looks to me like Steve Kerr will become like a Mike D'Antoni style if he does this which we all know didn't receive any ring on his career. The pure offense doesn't work.

They never had a real center lately, so this would still be running the same play, only slower since their starters will be on the older side if they start CP3. They had the advantage before because they were quick even though they do not have a true center. But I think it will be difficult for them if they choose to continue the same play with slower players. I guess we will see what the outcome of their new lineup will be when the regular season starts.

Not really. FIBA tournaments are more on teamwork. Just look at Canada and USA in this World Cup. Their lineup are mostly with NBA players but they still lost to Germany and Serbia. Just putting NBA players together is not a guaranteed success. They need to have chemistry in order to work. Even if you are a dominant NBA player if you do not have chemistry with your teammates, you cannot win. It will just result to miscommunication on the court. The winner in the FIBA World cup are players playing together for an amount of time mixed with a good floor general.
