We can say surely San Antonio comes back again to be a contender after a few long years being a tank team.

We cannot tell that yet. Wemby will first show how good he is and this first-year experience will be a great learning point for him. There's a chance they might not even enter the playoffs so don't get your hopes up just yet.
Orlando Magic didn't move much so it will depend on how good Banchero will play this season. If not, they might fall to the bottom.
I won't also underestimate the OKC Thunder yet with so much talent in their roster.
Trail Blazers may actually be the ones who will get problems with all these issues about Damian.
On who will win, I think Denver Nuggets might get a back-to-back.

I agree mostly. Totally agreed about Spurs. It is too early to tell and too early for them to be a contender team. I don't think any player on earth can make that much of an effect in their rookie year. Not even Michael Jordan did, not even Lebron did, not even Shaq did nor Tim Duncan. I am very eager to see what Wemby will show us but let us not expect too much from him just yet. Also, Greg Popovich is kinda old. He is not what he is used to, naturally.

I also agree about the Nuggets. They were looking too good and I don't think anybody can be as good as them right now.

NBA sent a memo regarding the Damian trade request and they basically said it's open season and he can't just pick a team to go to. He wants only Miami but the NBA said that any team is free to send offers and that means it is going to be a bit weird going forward. After all a player has a right not to play anywhere they want but that doesn't mean that he can pick just a single team with an expectation to actually go there. If that were to happen then it means teams would have to pay insane amount of money to players and then send them wherever they want, which won't work.

So all in all, maybe there is a chance Dame goes somewhere else, he could still reject it if he wants to but usually teams trade whoever they want to wherever they want as we all know.

I don’t understand. Is there any problem with the player going to the team that he wants? And I just don’t understand why he cannot join the team that he wants if everything is agreed upon. What is the reason for them trying to deny him joining the team that he wants? I understand that some rules and regulations that must be followed. But when everything seems to be agreed upon, what is the problem?

Because he isn't a free agent.  When you are a free agent you can play for anyone you want to who will pay you.  In this case he is under contract and is screwing over the owner of his team for lessening his value on the trade market.  The commissioner works for the owners of the NBA, and if this becomes the new normal than it will be huge implications for teams trying to deal their stars.  I agree he needs to shut up and deal with where he ends up later.  You signed a huge contract knowing you could be moved at anytime.

Well, that is a problem. If he is under contract, he cannot just go out and tell everyone that he wants to play for another team. Of course, no owner is actually going to appreciate that behaviour. I agree that this behaviour also simply is going to screw up the plan of the owner. He should understand that when he is under contract, he is supposed to give his hundred percent to the team that he is in contract with.

The NBA is a little different in this regard. As in European basketball or football teams, there is no order, players cannot meet with teams and express their own opinions.
Actually, this is a bit silly. It doesn't make much sense to have such rules, every player should be able to meet with the team they want. But we know that NBA has its own ecosystem as the regulations on financial situations are different compared to other leagues

Every different sport is going to have different rules. And every player should follow the rules. And in almost every sport, there are some rules that does not make sense. But that does not mean the players can go ahead and ignore the rules. As a great man said, “without rules we live with the animals”

It's too early to conclude; remember that only a few teams have won back-to-back championships, so there's no guarantee that the Nuggets will be able to repeat next season. The Nuggets have also changed their roster, although they still have the starting 5 intact, some key players have already left and signed better contracts with other teams.

In terms of talent, the competition is very tight; it only differs in chemistry and injury problems. Some teams have outstanding performances in the regular season but struggle in the playoffs due to injury issues. The Nuggets were lucky last season to have a healthy Murray; without him, I doubt they would have won.

Let's hope that we won't be seeing a lot of injuries next season so we can enjoy a very competitive season.

If you were to ask me which team I'd bet on to win the championship, I wouldn't choose the Nuggets; it's probably the Warriors or the Bucks.

I just watched the Stephen Curry documentary on AppleTV. I found it to be a little on the boring side if I’m being honest but it was interesting to see his journey. It just wasn’t a very exciting journey. However, I did think it was interesting how his decision to stay at Davidson paid off and how his college coach believing in him seemingly made the difference between him quitting basketball or not. I think most people never find that person in their life that believes in them and gives them an opportunity.

I regret not having witnessed the documentary, hence my incapability to provide any commentary on if it is actually good or not. But I think every people in the world actually understand that to have a successful career even need to suffer first. Suffering actually gives life value. I know he is a good player, and I also have no doubt that he would have been a good player, regardless of him suffering or not in life. But he wouldn’t be able to become one of the worlds best if he had everything easy.

It's just a documentary because he won so many rings, not because he has a life worth watching. I mean he comes from a basketball family, even his brother is in the NBA and his father was as well, and his father was known for shooting too, so he basically showed them how to since they were very little. He worked hard on the road his father opened up, and things went well and he became a good player.

Sure he ended up being the greatest three pointer ever, but just because you achieved something, doesn't mean it would be entertaining to watch how. He worked hard, that's it, what are we gonna watch his training montage? What is this, rocky? I rather go back and watch Rocky series again instead. There is no entertainment value in his life, he just did all the right things and got it.

Well, it's a slippery slope. Ideally nobody should be forced to play in a team or city that they don't want but they have huge contracts knowing that there will be consequences if not met. If he was a free agent he would have every right to reject teams but he's still under a contract and that contains any trades as well. He has to perform %100 even if he goes to other teams than Heat. But I guess we all know how it will end up. Dame will get away with a fine and play for the Heat this season.

That I forgot. Yes, he is still under contract so it's like telling the Portland Trail Blazers management to do something and make it happen that he will end up with the Heat. But I think the Trail Blazers won't be doing it if the offer is not right. The Heat doesn't have enough cards to trade with them in my opinion. They are actually undermanned with so many players injured, including Viktor Oladipo and Tyler Herro.
Well, there's always the buyout option if ever he is traded somewhere else and won't like to play, that's if the other end of the line is just trying to open up some space.

The Miami Heat is indeed in a difficult situation to offer something meaningful to Portland Trail Blazers. They did some movements to free some space. Actually, Oladipo was also traded and it is even accompanied with 2 2nd round future draft picks to make sure Miami Heat gets a trade exception worth $9 million. Earlier Miami did not match and let go of Gabe Vincent and Max Strus. I began to wonder if Miami matched the other teams' offers for Strus and Vincent, maybe Portland is willing to make the Lillard deal. But then again, I am not questioning the capabilities of Pat and Spo.

Regarding the Lillard situation, I am starting to better understand NBA's stand. Lillard still has a live contract and he is expected to perform 100% not just inside the court but off the court as well probably being an ambassador promoting the Trail Blazers' brand in getting better deals that is beneficial to the team. So Lillard can honestly tell the management his preferred next team which is Miami but he cannot say that he will refuse to play in any other teams. That's like threatening and putting his team at a disadvantage in making better deals.

We have to wait until all the pieces are in place. There are still a lot of trades that could happen that could drastically change favorites. If nothing else moves, then definitely Boston, Phoenix, Milwaukee and Denver are contenders.

I doubt San Antonio will be a contender this year. As good as Wembanyama is, the Spurs are still a very young team. I will be surprised if they make it to the playoffs. It will take a few years to develop Wembi to NBA level and surround him with the necessary role players to complement him. It is good if they make it to the playoffs, if not, it is still good. It is a process.

Giannis was injured in the playoffs. It could have been a different story if he stayed healthy in the post season. The Nuggets are strong but other teams are getting stronger as well. The Suns were the only team that were able to give good competition to the Nuggets, so I think you have a point that they are going to be even better next season. Although they lost CP3, he wasn't significant enough to the success of the Suns due to injury issues. However, having Bradley Beal on the team takes them to the next level. Let's just hope that the big 3 will be able to stay healthy throughout the season.

Since the Denver Nuggets is the defending champion, all the NBA teams are mostly working on how to beat them and one of the contenders that will gonna surely compete with the Denver Nuggets this upcoming season is the Boston Celtics because they cannot afford to lose the chance again and again when they are few wins away to get that championship. surely they will gonna be different this upcoming season and they will gonna improve their play in order to secure every win to get back in the NBA playoffs and have a higher chance to get the NBA championship as well.

Well, I agree with you on one thing. Just because he is successful it does not mean that his story is going to be interesting. Of course he worked hard. And there is no reason to discredit that. Working hard is the hard part. There is a reason it is called 'hard work'. But I agree that hard work is not very interesting to see. What is interesting to see is actually the result after hard work. And I can certainly say that he has definitely worked really hard to achieve what he has so far.

And he did definitely win a lot of rings. He does have a lot of achievement in his life. But of course, there are some commercial movies like 'Rocky' as you said. Of course, this is nothing like that.

Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell were Spurs leading scorers last season. They're still young and could probably compliment Wemby's energy.
I don't think they will instantly become a new force next season with the addition of a promising talent but I'm hoping coach Pop brings in Tim to develop that young center.

It seems like maybe he’s lost touch with his team with all the other stuff he’s doing. The one good thing they had was Luka, and I think the Kyrie trade not only decimated their team’s roster but it may have also destroyed Luka’s career.

Portland is holding all the cards here IMO. They are not going to do a trade unless it makes sense for them as a business. I'm sure they are keeping Dame and his wishes in the back of their minds, but unless a team sends an offer that makes sense for Portland moving forward, Dame will be a Trailblazer next year.

True, at the end of the day this is all about business and what's going to be profitable on Portland's side and what Miami sees being part of them. And if nothing happens with any deal that's being offered to Portland then Dame remains to be one of them.

Before all of that, Boston Celtics should make sure first that they are the strongest team in their conference and not just finishing the first seed during the regular season because the real game starts on the playoffs season. We surely thought that they would make another appearance in the Finals because it seems that they are doing well but when they faced the unexpected underdog, the Miami Heat, everything had changed as they were even on the brink of getting swept.

And another thing, it will be a huge challenge to them specially the Celtics if the Heat can sign the Portland's star, Dame Lillard, and we know that the competition will be a lot tougher afterwards.

I am not sure about who will be tanking, but I can easily say that any team that went ahead for a chance to win it all, could always be contending. I am guessing that Lakers will not be terrible, but Nuggets and Heat and Celtics looks to be great and they will probably still be around, obviously we will get Suns who will have a decent team as well, and that's going to end up with something that has a good entertainment for us.

Nuggets vs Suns at the west finals, Heat vs Celtics on the east finals, and whoever wins gets to meet at the finals and the winner gets the ring. I believe that's going to be how it is like but of course we can't know for sure right now. Miami getting Dame would make their place more permeant there.

Wemby is surely a lottery star because of what he can do to the team and the Spurs was indeed lucky to get him, but since NBA is a different league, we cannot say yet that the Spurs will have a good run this upcoming season because first, Wemby is still a rookie and definitely needs more time and experience before he can keep up with the stars in the league and second, we can expect that Wemby is going to have a lot of struggle because he will be a live target specially after he made a statement where he said that "it's not as physical compared to European basketball". The kid shouldn't have said that because he's just inviting the unwanted visitors in his rookie years.

Expect that, Nuggets still have that same core, and with the way they are playing the game,

I still see that they've got the chance to keep that championship spirit, just need to have both Jokic and Jamal healthy
and the rest would be playing alongside with them.

Lakers are another year older for theor main stars I can't see them putting any real pressure up top.  Suns if healthy will certainly push Denver.  The 2 wild cards are okc and Sacramento.  Sacramento was a pice or 2 away with some of theor stars getting into theor prime.  Okc shoukd start to reap the benefits of all their draft picks as well as sga going into his prime.  In the end, I'd still take Denver to win the west.

I think it is right that Bronny's camp stays silent because it will have a big impact on the kid's future as a basketball player. But if they do not clear this out, it will backfire on them since teams will have doubts about drafting Bronny if they are not sure about the health of the kid.

This is giving much pressure on both sides, but surely because of the filed contract he can not do something about it but get along with the terms, and right now that the Miami Heat is getting some space on their team to likely sign another superstar they can not do such a thing because they want Damian Lillard, but because Dame can not make outs to Portland Trailblazers this means the Miami Heat will likely need to acquire another superstar for them to be more efficient they are now out of time waiting for Dame to be traded,

Of the most trade that they did, this is the most clever one, and even though Kyrie Irving is a superstar in his own right there is a lot of issues involving him that many dislike when they announce that they will get Kyrie Irving, I really don't know what Mark Cuban is thinking but maybe he is not thinking at all, and just make a trade without even thinking the possibility for his team, for surely many will still be interested with the Luca Doncic and Kyrie Irving tandem but it is really too late if they could also get Clint Capela,
