I think Christian Wood for the Lakers alongside Anthony Davis might just end up being a recipe for disaster, like Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns partnership at the Timberwolves, except Wood being more of better shot maker outside the perimeter and serve as an insurance policy like you said for when AD is being out than usual or when AD is just off his game and can't dominate the paint like he ought to, I don't know why Dallas Mavericks didn't stick with him as a Center, he's an all round better player than more often useless than not of Center they have in Dwight Powell, who shouldn't even have ever graced a basketball court imo, I felt they've found quite a replacement for Porzingis in Wood, perhaps not a perfect fit, but not quite short-off from general perspective of him being versatile enough to play as a F, C or both combined quite effortlessly.

If Wood fits his game style to the Lakers and both LeBron will be playing with good health for sure they can make something good
out of this new squad, in terms of versatility, Wood can provide good space.

Plus, at the defensive ends, he can also provide a good defensive stop. With his speed and his span, it's not an easy to go to the basket of anyone.

Let see if how he will be able to find his place inside the Lakers squad and what contribution he can add for the betterment of the team.

Sure, this will be a good thing for the Lakers as it will provide a backup for Anthony Davis and they say this is a stepping stone for Christian Wood to establish himself again. I think he didn't do bad during his Dallas Mavericks stint, he was actually helpful to Luka there. The only problem is, he is being forced to be the center instead of being a Kristaps Porzingis type of forward.
Anyway, I will stop ranting about his salary, for me, he deserves more than that. Let's just see what he will provide for the Lakers but I bet they will make him a perimeter shooter instead of a center. Let AD do the bulldozing of the rim.

I agree with you; I think this is a wrong decision for him. He has the ability to play both inside and outside, so perhaps he's just searching for a team that could be the right fit for him. However, accepting such a small salary, I believe he may be wasting his time. I'm not sure if it's his agent's capability or if he's rushing his decision, but this is quite shocking. He could potentially earn more if he doesn't rush into his choices.

It's a one year deal to reset his value.  The Lakers are the perfect team for him to do that.  The second year is a player option basically knowing he isn't going to sign if he has any kind of decent season.  This is an absolute steal for the Lakers I agree.  Maybe there just wasn't any team with a ton of open cap space willing to spend on him.  Navigating an nba career is a chess game.

Good, I thought that he will be in the Warriors, but I guess Lakers is not that bad for Wood to be a destination team. Yeah, most likely it he will be some insurance for Davis, if ever AD got injured or something, at least there will be someone to cover the Center/PF department for the Lakers unlike last year.

I guess with no team picking him up, it's better to have that kind of deal with the Lakers instead of not playing at all in the NBA at 27 years. And maybe the Rockets are right to let him go and be traded. He was the core when he was with the Rockets back then and look to have a bright future. But the Rockets has some other things in mind with their young players. And after that, it was a uphill battle for Wood as he no longer have that kind of playing time and that's why his number goes down. So it's time for him to proved if he has what it takes to be a player and maybe he is a steal for the Lakers, so definitely a win-win situation.

I mean, both can dominate the paint and can shoot from outside, so it looks like he can fit into the chemistry needed for the Lakers team to work smoothly. Davis' minutes need to be managed, as they cannot afford to miss him in the playoffs. So, having Christian Wood, who is known for his offensive skills, I think he'll shine with the Lakers. Christian Wood is not on the same level as Anthony Davis but at a minimum contract of just over $2 million next season, that's already a steal. His stats deserved a double-digit contract so this is another big achievement in terms of the Lakers' negotiating strategy. Wood is a good shooter outside and inside so he is definitely another offensive player to not take for granted. He is also in mid 20s which means he can still be developed, especially his defense.

The Lakers are really doing well this off-season with very good additions. And with Bron still playing at an elite level, this team will definitely give the top favorite teams a run for their money.

If he's been arrested, the solution is simple. He pays and leaves.

As you guys know, there was this same incident happened in a bar where Draymond was allegedly involved in slapping someone out and this might be the same incident that they have used to make another headline. This is indeed a steal for the Lakers here, but I just hope that they should've offered him a bigger amount even if it is just a 2-year deal as they sure already do know his worth and he's not the kind of player who should they doubt first if he can be useful or not because Wood already showed his capabilities during his run with the Mavericks and Rockets where he was averaging very decently whether from the paint or beyond the arc.

This is a pretty good deal for the Lakers. I'd even say the Lakers' management hit the jackpot by signing Wood for a minimum contract. It's worth noting that Wood has pretty good stats since he averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last year, which means he'll be capable of partially replacing Davis. That's just what the Lakers need because Davis will probably be injured again in the upcoming season.

Now this is a good signing! Wood was amazing at Rockets, and he definitely is the type of guy that can help AD down low as well. He has a smooth shot, maybe not shooting that much but he can make some, and he is very athletic down under as well which means that he could be inside when AD is outside and be outside when AD is inside which would help the team.

Overall, it was expected that Embiid wouldn't leave the 76ers because it looks like their management isn't stupid enough to let a current MVP go. As for Danny Green returning to the 76ers, I associate him more with the Spurs than the 76ers. At least because he was a more active and useful player with the Spurs. Besides, he spent 8 seasons with the Spurs but only two with the 76ers.
