I doubt we will see that KD and Westbrook tandem but well, Thunders knows how to find talents before but sadly they didn't became champs with them.
That's why they are planning to rebuild again, there are young talents that might come and lead the team to more success. No team can make a player to stay forever, though westbrook is no doubt one of the best player in the NBA but he is not a good example of a team leader, and we all know basketball is a team game and not only a one man game, so even with his very awesome triple double stats its still useless if he cannot lead his team to be in the NBA finals and to win. But Kobe Bryant stayed to Lakers until he retired? Thunders is sort of a talent scout but they should start getting their team rebuild and I hope they can cope up with the next season. Kobe indeed stayed until he retired, they have very similar type of a player as they both have wanted to handle the ball, the good catch with Kobe he always have a good team behind the titles, that he've got role players that's willing to adjust with him, unlike Russ he's individuality focused with stats and not on how the team will win.

I wonder if theres a lot of fans out there who like westbrook, I think he has a lot of haters and I hate this guy because he loss against the Blazers where I bet on their team to win, you know they are the favorites that time but he is not shooting the ball well but still persist to shoot.

I don't hate players as much as possible I appreciate on how good they are, what shall we get for hating these great athletes? unless they really are pissing.

I have the same bet for that series I hate the way he lead the offense he should gave it to PG since the percentage is much higher that time, but moving to that topic regarding to individuality, Kobe is far greater and have higher leadership I.Q than Russ, it takes good adjustment and how will you show it from your teammates for them to follow your lead.

The best reality to use for this argument is their achievement, Russ has never won a championship compared to Kobe who already won many times, 5 to be exact and 2 finals MVP. It's all written here - https://tl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobe_Bryant

They are too late to make a trade. Free agents already have their teams.
Not that late. I wonder on how long Oklahoma Thunders have to wait just to get one championship. The perfect example would be the patience of Raptors but as long as they are doing something to rebuild their roster, I think that as soon as they've got a nice line up with a combination of veteran and young ones they can nail one. One of their options is to rebuild from scratch. They have acquired a lot of drafts picks because of PG13 trade. They can rebuild from the young talents they will acquire just like how the warriors have done with clay and curry. It will take them a long time but it is way cheaper than acquiring superstars right now. Sure it will take time but it depends on how they will manage and train these youngsters. They still need some help of veteran and experienced players to teach the young ones that they have acquired. Initially reports say that Russ might be traded this summer, but seems this is very challenging. I don't know if there are suitor as this point for Russ as most of the teams now have already spend the big bulk of their money chasing top caliber athletes. Doesn't make sense for him to go to Houston, two dominant ball hogging guards? that's unheard of.
He's going with the flow, the superstars are being traded and teams are liking the trade now. I think there must be a team that's rooting for him but as for the rumors, he likes Miami.

Remember that Russ is not getting any younger, he is what 31 now? And we don't know what will happen in the next two years if that body can hold up the way he plays. He doesn't have a decent jump shot, and we all know that when all that athleticism is gone, you need a fall back plan like having a jump shot, similar to what Jordan did. Is Miami willing to take that risk?

Kobe already talked about that. If you are in the same line as them then make sure you prove it. Westbrook will not join Houston. I doubt he wants to join with Harden again looking at how he plays. Same thing as how I predicted Kawhi not going to Lakers but instead Clippers. He doesn't want to play with LeBron. Westbrook needs that team which doesn't have a star. Try Charlotte.

Even if they did, two starting guards, and knowing how Westbrook play and decision making, I'm sure the two will also clash. . I think it will be a terrible decision.

NBA teams do not like first round exits for some reason, I don't know why, you are getting more money, maybe its because okc was spending too much money, that seems to be the real issue with them. They have been over luxury tax for a long time and still only reached the first round, however it was obvious for them to stay at first round or at best second round, they were never a championship team at all, so to think that they were spending money knowing that and now stopped would mean they had enough.
Maybe they want to get back on under cap space and just focus on rookies and so forth and build again so they could just stay under the cap space and not pay 100+ mil extra money for now. That seems like only logical reason to give away Paul George for just some picks.
It is better for teams to just tank and get a good draft pick instead of just barely scraping by and getting destroyed in the first round of the playoffs. With the warriors losing key players I think this opens the door for all the other borderline teams that can make a real push for the finals.

Looks like my Timberwolves team is one of the frontrunners to land Russell Westbrook and the media is not quiet about it. To be honest it's the first time that I'm not happy they will be receiving a superstar if this happened. Westbrook for me is not a long-term solution for the team yes he can contribute right away and help KAT but will he be here after the end of the season or the next one after that? I don't think so, I'll be glas if Rosas didn't push thisbtrade through.

I wouldn't necessarily agree that tanking is the way to rebuild your team from this point on. Not with the readjusted draft odds. Knicks were absolute horse shit all year long, hoping to get that number 1 draft pick - Zion, they obviously didn't. Traded away the Unicorn in hopes of signing KD - they couldn't and ended up with players like Taj Gibson and B.Portis. On the other hand, Nets had an early 1st round exist, but they did all things the right way. They didn't tank, they developed their young players, they have a nice coaching staff/front office and was rewarded by landing two superstars in the off-season + DJ.

Hopefully russ and towns will click. Considering that they're in a very stacked western conference, they may have no choice or we'll see another big time player move out at the end of the season. Westbrook i think is more of a stat-padding type of player. You need to have efficient role players to make his style work, like the kind james harden has with the rockets. I hopenhe doesn't end up like another melo.

I think Kobe's championships are different from others as well, the first 3 was with Shaq and you can argue that Shaq was the alpha dog there even though Kobe didn't want that to happen.
However, we are talking about Kobe winning 2 rings with Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom as his best help whereas Russ had like Paul George just last year with a first round exit, I could maybe see them not getting a ring that is fine but if you are a first round exit then you are not at Kobe level at all, did Kobe had first round exits? Sure he even had a last season with something like 17 win only but when he played he was playing to win it all back in the day, even with a horrible team he carried them to playoffs multiple times, Lakers had NO business in playoffs many of those seasons and Kobe still took them there and moved to conferences finals with people like Kwame brown and Smush parker. Russ can't do that at all.

Warriors have lost some key players that you cannot cross them out as a contender. They are still a very strong team. Aside from that, new superteams in the west are formed, both of them in LA. They can try but I am sure the new superteam will block them. Looks like my Timberwolves team is one of the frontrunners to land Russell Westbrook and the media is not quiet about it.
It seems that they are pushing for this. They are pushing Wiggins out of their team. This is beneficial for OKC because they can easily trade Wiggins in the future rather than Westbrook. I think timberwolves will still benefit from Westbrook's athleticism.

I dont know that T'Wolves is trying to make a trade for Russ but it might just work. Here is the problem though. When you are trying to get Westbrook, you are not aiming for a championship. He is just not "that guy". I have told it here for so many times. He can make different record breaking acts but yet why the hell is his team stops at the first round or the 2nd round of the playoffs? For a player who averages triple double every game? 4 years contract $171 million. As a team manager or a governor, will I really waste that much for this guy who doesnt really pursue for a ring but instead more focused on his outfit every game? I dont think so. But I guess Pistons might really be his good landing space. Why? He will not be the superstar there. He will be more like a wingman. One more thing. Go to the East and he might have a slight chance. The West is just filled with so much power teams now. It cant be Houston. CP3, Harden and Westbrook? A big NO! Miami Heat with Jimmy Butler? A big NO!! Why? Jimmy went to Miami to get the lights on him only. To be a star of a team. Pistons will be his best shot and they are interested.

Randy M. Williams, a friend and a 'brand ambassador' of Kevin Durant roasted Russell Westbrook on an instagram post. He said that nobody wants to play with rust. Well, you said it, he just want to have his stats highlighted. But you can never blame him, he's just that type of player. Probably, he deserves to be alone surrounded with role players. One more thing. Go to the East and he might have a slight chance. The West is just filled with so much power teams now.
Miami is the best landing spot for him and the next one is the Pistons. But, Miami is the most likely team to get him.

The miami heat were "unbeatable" in their first year with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh and they ended up losing to the Dallas Mavericks. But I still think the Lakers are the favorite going into next season.
