Theres always a chance for them to team up. The real question is, can KD play the way he did before the injury? I mean that was a major injury right there, most of the player who had a major injury are struggling for recovery and might end up in an early retirement.

That's not good, KD already had Irving and if he comes back playing his old self, they had a chance to win championships.
KD leave Warriors because he don't want to play with a superteam, he wanted to prove again in another team and Him and Irving are like Lebron and Irving in the Cleveland days and I think Durant is even better.

They could team up to get another ring, but we need to see the full damage of his injury first and see if he can comeback just like his old self. KD leaves the Warriors because he was chasing for his ring and now that he accomplished it, time for him to move and partner with other elite players like Irving. It could be Irving and Lebron again, but it is too early to call as KD needs to recovery physically and mentally after that devastating injury.

You are right, it's hard to expect that KD will can still play like his old self because according to experts, that injury is a serious one and the fact that he was  our for the entire next season, that means his injury requires him a lot of time to recovery.

That is if KD is the same KD we used to know during his GSW days. I think after his rehab in his injury, KD will never be the same as he was. Like most players suffered the same injury as he acquired now, their skills drops drastically and it would be what KD will be. Though he will still be a superstar but not like what he is at his peak.
Maybe yes he won't be the same, but also Kawhi suffered before but happened to came back stronger, it's a love from the game and the passion that he will continue playing the same intensity that he have way back, KD is one of those prime player from the league and having him back with the same types of athletic attitude will keep him as one of the best that the sports ever have.

I think the injury of Durant is more serious than Kawhi's injury, Kawhi miss playing with the Spurs because there's a tension inside and he doesn't want to play with the team anymore. Kawhi were able to come back and played with the Raptors, he was still consistent but only played limited minutes in the start and as we noticed he has a lot of rest last regular season because the team are managing his minutes to prevent him from getting re injured again, I think we will see this kind of treatment when Durant comes back.

Right, and maybe Kawhi has a lot of rest as well that's why the injury did flare as much as he expected. As compare to Durant who everyone in the NBA thinks has a more serious injury and would take a lot of time just to heal it. And then you have to practice and can a feel of the injury and see if you still the same. But I do hope that Durant recovered quickly so that we can enjoy watching him and Irving doing their thing.

Jeremy Lin has given up his chance on signing on an NBA team as he is now a Duck  Grin. He is the latest member of the CBA's Beijing Ducks.

I think this is an excellent move on his part as his stint with the CBA may boost his confidence as he has a lot of follower on China and  if he will do good, there is a big possibility of an NBA comeback just like what other NBA stars did in the past.

That's what he should do and not mourn about his career in the NBA because there are still doors open for him. If he can show good quality basketball in China, there could be some scout in the NBA that possibly bring him back to the league.

Yeah it was reported weeks ago or its already a month that has passes since he has expressed his disappointment and sadness that no one will take him on their shoulder.

But its good to see that he is with his hometown now playing with Beijing Ducks. There is still more to follow with this guy. His dedication and passion to the game is genuine, hoping that he will have fun and have a better career there.

I think it is better for him to stay there than go back to NBA. There are a lot of his experiences there, and I think that is a proof for him that NBA is not his stop but what he is chasing right now. It is better way to improve his skill in a team that is interested in you than a league that really don't mind about you.

Good for Lin that he finally sign a new league which is the Beijing Ducks, actually I was looking on the terms of contract, particularly the amount he will earned signing with this team.

His previous salary can be seen in this site.  https://hoopshype.com/player/jeremy-lin/salary/
The biggest salary he had was when he was playing with the Lakers, the lowest is when he started with the Warriors and ended with the Raptors.

I'm just curious really, can you share an information here?

He has a championship ring. He was once the star in the league, he was once the rejected one, he was once near to MIP level. So it's been a hell of a journey for him. All the best for Linsanity. He gave individual form and new flavor to the whole NBA.

Just for the record, Jeremy Lin is born in America (Cali) with immigrant parents from Taiwan.

I was looking on the terms of contract, particularly the amount he will earned signing with this team.

It's probably safe to assume it is in the range of $4-6mil, Beijing Ducks initial offer was $3mil. In other words, a lot more than what he was getting in Toronto last year.

Ohh. I've always thought that he is a Chinese citizen, thanks for that info though.

I think still a good location for him though near the origin country of his parents.

I think this is good for him salary wise, he has already gave honor to his with his journey in the NBA, so that's a great contribution already.
His salary then is higher than what he earned playing with the Hornets and I think that's normal since he came from the NBA and the expectation is high.
He wasn't able to show his full capability in his later journey in the NBA, but he needs to show up in his current team now.

What's the chances that he can get back playing in the NBA?

The even wise thing to do is not come back.
Why?
There is no sense anymore.
He already lose his fans in USA and those who are just watching NBA. Me literally, I dont watch China games so I wont have any news about him anymore.

With him out of the sight playing in US soil, there will be a large possibility that a lot of his die hard fans will be looking for another player to cheer with. Forget about going back and move on. Be a star in China.

I agree he will get plenty of other opportunities (sponsorship contracts) outside of basketball too. He might not be Chinese but he is still hella popular over there, meaning financial incentive to move to China was too big to pass on, along of course with getting to be a starter again and playing meaningful minutes.

What's the chances that he can get back playing in the NBA?

If you ask me chances he plays again in the NBA are very slim. I will give you, for example, Jimmer Fredette, another undersized point guard, he had his Linsanity moments but in college, played like 7-8 years in the NBA and then moved to China. He tried to make a comeback this year, signing with the Suns but only played in 6 games. Made the Warriors roster for this year's summer league but didn't get any interest from other teams. He was avg. over 37pts in China.  Shocked Once you are out of the league, comebacks are tough. So yeah, at his age 31, Lin probably played his last game in the NBA.

It's probably safe to assume it is in the range of $4-6mil, Beijing Ducks initial offer was $3mil. In other words, a lot more than what he was getting in Toronto last year.

Chances are very slim. Those NBA players who chooses to play in China never come back because it looks like they enjoying their stint there. They good good salary, good exposure, their game is a stand out Chinese fans love them and best of all they can be true stars that they can't imagine going to happen in they chooses to go back in NBA.

On classic example is Stephon Marbury, he was a two time NBA All Star, but when no team pick him up, he decided to try CBA (Chinese Basketball Association) and had a storied carrier. He is know retire but there are news that he is joining some Chinese investment groups as Chairman of their sports operations.

So we do hope that Lin will have the same success story in CBA as Stephon.

Same will happen with Durant, dude will not play all year this year, the difference between Kawhi and Durant is that Durant got injured on the last game and Kawhi got injured during the start of the playoffs, plus Spurs said Kawhi could comeback but after 9 games he was re-injured and didn't played at all after that. Durant if kept healthy and not forced to play with the Nets would be able to go around 16-17 months without playing a single game of basketball. Of course he will start some training or so after a while but for a long time he won't have to force himself at all.

As long as he doesn't get re-injured during the rehabilitation process he will return back without any problems at all, he is not too old neither so he will be capable of recovering and then having a bit of career afterwards as well.

~snip~

After all, Fall was signed via Exhibit 10 contract by the Celtics, therefore it was even expected at first that this tall guy might not be included in the Boston Celtics' final lineup. His summer league game stats will now be evaluated.

But honestly, even for let's say he will get the last roster spot for the Celtics, there's another opportunity for him to showcase his skills and that is thru NBA pre-season games (if ever he made to get a spot). From there, even Celtics will limit his minutes on the floor once Season commences, other teams might now show interest in this guy after seeing him in good action at pre-season games despite after some evaluations did by them prior NBA draft pick that it's risky to pick this guy.

Fall should really work hard to make a buzz to the point that he should be a monster for every given playing time.

The way his contract works shows that Boston Celtics are not taking any risk with him and Tacko Fall being part of the team isn't guaranteed yet. If he doesn't showed any improvements this offseason then the best thing he would get is to be offered up a two-way contract and prove himself in the G-league which I think he will be a contributor right from the start. I still see him as a raw talented player but not so talented enough to be a contributor in the NBA's regular season. This is a win-win situation for Boston on snagging one of the most overlooked players in the NBA draft.

if he will do good, there is a big possibility of an NBA comeback just like what other NBA stars did in the past.
Forget about going back and move on. Be a star in China.
I agree with Reid here. What's the point of coming back? He should just enjoy his playing time in China and retire there. He gets to play basketball and he gets to earn millions. He can simply become a basketball ambassador there just like Yao Ming.
