Putting Lakers that high eh? Are we not forgetting that most starters in this team will be playing with each other for the first time? Same case with Clippers but Kahwi and George can easily blend in. Dark horses for next season are Nuggets, Blazers, and maybe Nets. So you are saying Lebron and Davis will not blend? Don't forget that Lebron although he failed last season he is still the king Jame we know. Once they will blend effectively the Lakers might dominate the West, for me Davis and Lebron is a better combo that Kawhi and Paul George or WB and Harden. Lebron, Davis, Green, Kuzma won't be blending that quickly. You can also throw in Howard to the equation. It's not just about the duo but the whole team that's why I said most starters. Forget about Harden and Westbrook. They deserve to be last on that list.

For years, some NBA players lied about their height. They can’t anymore.
What's the implication of this lying about how tall they are? I have never heard of any past and current NBA players getting fined for not disclosing their true height. Besides, I think the teams they are playing against are already familiar with their actual height. I don't know what will be the downside of this issue but like you, I'm also very curious to know things and its consequences like this. Maybe they are not taking it seriously and they can reason out that it's just a simple mistake that happens usually when inputting information through their database. Who knows? but if someone who's more technical and has a better thought about this, I'd love to read it.

IF the rest of the team knows its place in the system. IF the role players deliver. IF Kyle Kuzma makes another step in his career. Thats a lot "ifs" and not so much axioms. They can win the league and didn't make it to the playoffs again as well. It is indeed a big gamble with this team.

Among the players you've mentioned, only Lebron and Davis are in their MVP level, Howard was not given a good contract and that pretty explains on what his status now. Green and Kuzma won't lead the team but Lebron and Davis can lead the team like when Lebron and Wade were playing in the heat before.

Those "If's" will be concluded when the season started, coaches will play the big role here to make sure that the blends and the conditioning efforts will bring the entire squad to work together. Leadership can be provided by the King and knowing how close AD and LBJ it won't be hard for them to play alongside, with the rest, it's rondo who's there to command the game he's a veteran and knows how to deal with players.

I still think people are over hyping Utah Jazz, they are not as good as people think they are. Sure, they have some good players but they are not a great team all together, chemistry plays a big role plus having a system helps a ton as well.
They are just bunch of not bad players all together, mike Conley is not the best pg, Spida is not the best sg, crowder is not the best sf, favors is not the best pf, gobert is not the best C, they are people who have zero best players in their positions and probably not even top 5 in most of them as well. I would say clippers have a big chance of getting it this year if they don't get injured, which would put Kawhi into one of the biggest jumps of player rankings ever, I would start to see him as top 20 ever in history if he gets it this year as well.

Gobert is Most Defensive Player of the year. You forgot about that. Also, you are looking more at offense. That is one sided. Both should be played and Utah had been one of the most defensive team also. Actually, the number 1. That is just too much for underestimating this team and also their coach. They will not play in playoffs if not for that. Defense wins championship. I have already told that here. Utah is just lacking something because they cannot do defense only everytime. It will be exhausting.

I agree, it's not so much about ball hog, it's a type of ay. Some people can only play with the ball in their hands and others do better off the ball, it's why steph and klay work so well. Harden and Westbrook's together is a hail mary by their management. Without Westbrook they know they couldnt compete so they had to do something just dont know if this was the wisest move
I have the same bad imagination by now. Is that really the wisest move? Are there no options left? A ball hog to a ball hog? The Rockets management is really giving Mike D'Antoni a headache. Now, he needs to make a play for the two and pray that they will not be stealing each other balls when in the game. This is perfect for mike dantonio and his system . Dude runs a system where the more posessions the better. He tried it on the knicks when he was coaching them but didnt work at all

Let's pass all of those ifs to the upcoming season and let's see if they will click this time. Lakers isn't really impressive for the last season and it made Lebron lifting a heavy weight. Same assumptions came last time when Lebron was finally transferring to Lakers. We can all think of those ifs but we can't do anything about it but to wait and let their performance for this season decide.

Let the LA hype continue. I'm pretty sure many will enjoy once the season starts and this current team's performance turns out to be average. I cannot wait to see fingers being pointed again with all the blame games.

Pretty much every team in the NBA heading to the regular season also have a big "IF's" right? A lot of "if's" If youre not yet aware, Lebron is willing to pass the spotlight to AD offensively if he (Anthony Davis) wants to. https://uproxx.com/dimemag/lebron-james-anthony-davis-lakers-offense-focal-point-all-defense/ Now, lets take the "IF" about Lebron and AD cooperation. While on the other hand Kyle Kuzma is currently suffering from a stress reaction in his left foot and will expected to miss the first week of action. Yet, I have a feeling Kyle will make a difference this year.

@Oasisman, well, Lebron has transformed into a good playmaker and he already have a lot of recognition, being an MVP, MVP finals, and a champion, he can give chance to Davis if Davis is willing and he will perform but if not, we will see him more aggressive to bring the Lakers to a high level.

He has a back up star player before and he let Dwade and Kyrie to take the last shot, people criticize him not being clutch but that's how he trust his teammates to help the team win the game, I think he has no problem with that doing it again and this time with AD. Lakers is a tough team now, with Davis and Howard, any team will be having a problem penetrating in the inside and they'll have to rely on their 3 point shooting but that would not be most effective if they will have a great defense.

I don't think that anyone is thinking of the Jazz as top 2-3 favorites to win the title, but with current roster they are simply one of the contenders, most lists put them in top 8, and when you look at their roster, they deserve that at least. They had one of the best defense last year, and on top of that, they added more scoring options, so unless something unexpected happens, they should have good playoff run.

I don't also agree that Jazz will become a championship contender, they will have a hard journey in the west, they have to beat Lakers, CLippers, GSW, and the Rockets, and I think that's a tough job, even if they have some improvement 3 of the best teams have a major improvement also.

They are just combination of good players which seems not very solid compare to the starters of teams like Lakers and Nets but who knows? Maybe they got a surprising chemistry like GSW have in their early days where their main asset is only the Splash Brothers. I still believe in the saying "There is no I in team", basketball needs more of teamplays rather than monstrous all stars . Anyway, about on the possible teams we can look forward this upcoming season, my picks would be Nets, Lakers, Clippers (I'm getting excited to see if Kawhi can carry this team with the help of PG) and GSW.

Well if you consider it, the raptors didn't have any of the top caliber players in the league last year except for kawhi. You don't need to have the top players in every position to be a contender. All you need to have is a system that can make the 5 players on the floor efficient. The jazz are capable of being a team like that. Favorites, no. Contenders, definitely.

Upcoming season is really interesting. Line up seems to be balance. I can see Lakers is one of the favorite next season. With their line up, I guess they are now a ring contender. Meanwhile, next season will be tough for GSW. Their greatness will be on test again. Is their era over or they can still surprised us next season because they are still a ring contender for me even KD is no longer in the team.
