During the early years of Dirk, there was also an experiment when he played as a center but it doesn't work at all that's why he played back in a position where he can manage the ball, shoot or pass around, I think a forward position fit this kind of player, like Dirk which his idol.
That's right but the current coach of the Mavericks was the same coach that help Dirk to improve so he can do the same with Porzi and Luka and these who will become a good dou in the court. Mavericks is still an underrated team and I expect them to improve this season despite of their untested line up.

I think I was still younger during those days but he's truly more effective outside the ring. Mavericks is still an underrated team and I expect them to improve this season despite of their untested line up.
I don't think that Mavs are being underrated.

Mavs fan out there, did you watch the recent interview with Kristap Porzingis?
Look at his built. I've noticed that his body becomes more bulk up. Damn, what did he do while out on NBA (aside from involving into a brawl lol)? Like he isn't came from an injury.
Maybe others will see it as a disadvantage since he might become slow but for me, he will be like an athletic version of Dirk Nowitzki.
Of course he should build up muscles to not easily get overpowered by his match ups. It's not as if he will get slower but it's a must to bulky up a bit for this physical game. I mean slim players always gets overpowered by muscular players. Because it’s depend on their position in game if what’s needed,if you’re a shooter mostly there’s no need to have a bulk body because you don’t intend physically engaging by which outside shooting or perimeter is your place, while bulky bodies n needs under the ring that engaged mostly in physical contact.but in KRIZTAP I think he will be given another task by the coach that’s why he improved he’s muscles and gain weight

I don't think that Mavs are being underrated. They are, because their odds ot win as NBA champion is "100/1".. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/It's a decent line for this line up, and people aren't seeing them now because of the hype of the newly upgraded teams like the Lakers, Clippers, and Rockets.

LA Clippers is on hype due to Kawhi and PG. Well, a lot of supporters will follow their idols. This is another interesting team to watch and interesting if this two superstars will go along well.

Well, Gasol and Lowry are stars but now with the same level with Kawhi and the top 10 players in the NBA now.

Exactly! Things might be changed when the season starts, specially when a lot of people are expecting something big from Doncic and Porzingis. People even think that they're the future of the Mavs just like Nowitzki and Nash back in the days. Nevertheless, these young guns got the talent. Who knows in the middle of the season they might not be considered as underrated.

Even though Doncic is carrying the team right now even when he is with Porzingis, they are still underdogs. Well, at least right now that we see that Porzingis can play now, I hope their rankings get high this time. He is after all the unicorn. The European iconic duo could be lethal if they found their synergy together.

Yes, they cannot make the same mistake all over again or it will be a mess. Although Dirk showcased his shooting range when he won his 1st championship, it took a lot of time before they could even reach it. I am against making Porzingis as a center. It is the new era of basketball and they have a different way of plays by now. Going against the flow might just make them missed several playoffs. Oh, and it is going to be difficult making him change his style over and over again.

Again, the results will be the changing factors regarding to how this team will be treated, they are seems to be underrated as Porzingis conditions still in question, if he can play healthy for the rest of the season, it can influence the future of the franchise. He have been absence for a while and he's coming back will be interesting if how far he can manage to help the entire team to compete and win.

I think we just have to wait what will happen and see how porzingis perform in this coming season, it's preseason already but its still different compared to the regular season, I want to see teams playing with a complete team and with their full effort.

The idea is because of what they did with Dirk back then. They put him in the center position and he was eaten by monsters. But I do think something better is being cooked in the Dallas roster. Yes 2nd unit. Put him in there and take charge of the big guys. Maybe they could put some good show while their star players are resting. I do agree if this happens. Jordan Clarkson had been improving his game.

Dirk = One-legged fadeaway shot Harden = One-legged running 3-point shot The guy seems desperate to create a signature move of his own. I hope he gets it right for his egos sake lol. The pre-season looking good for the Rockets. I think he will be able to help the Lakers if the management will be able to get him back. He is a good scorer and they can put Clarkson in the 2nd unit, this team will surely improve more.
That's a long time. I'm not sure if that's going to happen since Cavs needs him more than ever.

They will be putting Porzingis in the Center position for two reasons; one is that he got injured and his lateral quickness will never be what it once was, some players do not return from harsh injuries like they used to be, look at Shaun Livingston dude was a super speedy tall dunking point guard yet he got a gruesome injury and he had to leave for a long time and when he came back he was a midrange shooter, same with Porzingis he still has his talents and that is good enough to be a star, he will be an all-star once again one day and he will help his team a lot but he will never be as quick laterally as he used to be which means center is better.
Second reason which is once again one of the most important ones, they don't have any centers as great as Porzingis, they can put a smaller player on power forward due to this "small ball" era but the center needs to be talented and Porzingis is super talented.

I think it is more about him moving to Center position than anything else. He may look like he got some more pounds on him and muscled up but in reality that is what required from porzingis if he wants to play the center position.
Now, if he stays at power forward which I doubt now that he is no longer that quick and agile and skinny than he would have to make up the difference with something else but if he moves to center position like we all expect him to, then he will have to fight for rebounds against players like Embiid, KAT, Drummond, Howard and many others that list goes on. Hence, putting on some muscles was a good idea but not enough, its not gonna suddenly make him a great beast, there are tons of other players who have that type of size and power, he just catch up to them to become a center.
But if I am the Dallas management I would still prefer him as the KD type of play. Moving to center will most likely slow him down even if we take out the weight that he is going to receive by toning his body. You are a center so will always be taking rebounds and blocking shots. With that it will be a slow phase game while waiting for him to post up for offense or whatever the play would be. That is not how NBA is being played now. Lots of fastbreaks and a sudden 3 point shot with equipped players and also a fast paced game. Imagine Dallas against a Houston Rockets team. I just dont understand it if they will put him on that position. I dont think he is turning into a back to the basket guy. He is still going to be a stretch player his outside game is amazing. People forget how good he was on defense too, this new weight will help him only get better inside. The only thing he lacked was a power post move and this was probably done to be able to get one. Sad the Knicks lost him

~ The pre-season looking good for the Rockets.
It's just another practice. Real action is coming in a few days. Lakers don't need him. They need a consistent outside shooter and not someone who loves to dribble. They already have Kuzma for that position but things could quickly change come midseason.

Jordan Clarkson would be a great part of Lakers' second unit. But, the thing in here is, I guess LeBron does really want him as a teammate. Although his stats with him during the Cleaveland season was not good especially in the playoffs, at least LeBron knows the worth of him. ~ The pre-season looking good for the Rockets.
It's just another practice. Real action is coming in a few days. It's still a match but you can see their dominance. Hey, have you seen James Harden's new move? The one foot step back three? You should definitely watch this one. This would be a major upgrade for him. Practically doubling his offense less defense, kidding.

Someone to guard the other teams best players and on offense can play without the ball and be a 3 point threat to spread the floor. Those types of players are invaluable come playoff time. Clarkson will demand the ball, that isnt needed for them
