An overhaul to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Zion Williams Lonzo Ball Brandon Ingram Josh Hart Jrue Holiday J.J. Redick Nicolo Melli Jaxson Hayes
and their new addition. Derrick Favors
For me, it is a strong roster. The problem is these are young guys. Chemistry will be difficult to achieve. Any thoughts?
Its a roster of underrated people but with good chemistry, they can be a good team throughout the whole season. Add also Okafor because he is a good rebounder too. When you are new to each other there will be problems regarding chemistry but on how they are playing right now, I think they got the chemistry already. They just need to maintain it so they can clinch to the playoffs.

I don't think this will be a problem, the more they play together, they will have good chemistry. Do you see today's match? Pelicans against spurs today. I was surprised by Lonzo giving assist from halfcourt to Zion. that's pretty awesome! these two young men will have a good future in NBA

They are lucky if ever they will enter the playoffs, with this line up, I can say that its an interesting team but its not enough to be called a championship team, they need to learn first and I am not seeing a great 3 point shooter in the team, of course we have Redick but in terms of consistency, I don't think he will be when the defense is fully focus on him. This team's strength is more on the inside as that's zion Williams strength, their best player. And that is the good thing about it. They have Zion which is like Gianis when he plays. He can absorb the defense to him making Redick shoot freely on the outside. It is not a two man game. All of them could score including Lonzo and Ingram. Their roster is almost a complete set. They just need to perfect every plays that will be made for them. If done right then there is a possibility for them to enter the playoffs. They really need a veteran with them and Favors could be the answer. Being in Utah Jazz for many season which is known for their defensive style, he will be a great help to the team but depending on the minutes he will get. Though he has a lot of playoffs experience but IIRC, they high achievement was just to enter in the 2nd round, so I think it's not big at all.

We could see them both on the court with Lebron playing point guard and two outside shooters. That line up could still work for them both on the defensive and offensive end. It's a good opportunity for Howard to show what he's been working on.
Absolutely. It's good to see them both playing at the same time by powering inside the paint. But, if that happens, the team's transition in both offense and defense will slow down a little as they are big men. Anyway, let's just hope for AD's fast recovery. He's vital for the team. This injury happens in preseason and if this is really meant to happen, I think its on a good timing. according to https://www.rotoworld.com/basketball/nba/player/29801/anthony-davisThere's a decent chance AD will skip Monday's preseason game against the Warriors, but as of right now, this appears to be a fairly minor injury. So there's nothing to worry as it's just a minor injury and its expected that he will be back soon.

The team is full of role players who can step up whenever they needed it. Lakers competitiveness will be test it will be AD less from the season opener.

Lol, even if it's a preseason game nothing's a good timing when it comes to injury. Luckily it's a minor injury yet, it's still part of the game injury comes to every players. Well, we do not expect that AD will miss a lot of games, as said in the news he'll be sidelined so he could take some minutes if he can play.

He'll probably be rested for the rest of the pre-season action. His injury aint too serious, It was just a sprain on his thumb. They'll just rest him until the swelling subsides, since theres a more important game coming up for the opening of the NBA regular season against the Clippers.

I doubt that AD will take a long rest, looks like the extend of his injury is not that worst, probably just a couple of weeks rest and he will be back and play with his new team. Definitely, everyone will be dependent on Lebron's leadership we all see what happens when Lebron is not in the court last season. Although you can argue that this is a different team now, however, Lebron is still the key for the Lakers to be successful.

The preseason does not matter. The only thing it is good for is to fill out the bench with the 12th-15th players on the team. AD can sit out the rest of the preseason and some ayers do so they dont get any serious injuries when subpar players are flying around the court.

That's what I thought too. At least he still have 10 more days to rest and I hope the swelling subsides that time.
However, what do you think the result at the opening tip of the 2019-2020 NBA season? Let's say AD isn't injury that day and will play the game against the Clippers. It's good to see a year when Danny Green and Kawhi wearing different uniforms. I'm still rooting for the lakers when the time comes. But, at that tipoff, basketball will be harder than the preseason. That's where the real game starts. The same day, it's also the defending champs, Raptors vs New Orleans.

That will be exciting to watch. I am sure both teams are eager to prove which team is better, which tandem is best and if Kawhi is now ripe to eclipse the era of Lebron. I'll be rooting for Clippers on this one whether AD will be playing or not.

Maybe it's pride for both teams to eagerly showcase their star caliber types of game. The season opener will be the first impressions of the fans, making it more enjoyable will bring more support to this league.

Nobody should expect some sort of championship run from them, that would be silly, these are all young kids, almost all of them under 25 years old, its just too new for them. However with 5-6 years of development together they can be serious heavy hitters, maybe not win the championship (they totally can as well) but at least they would be contending like for example Rockets have been doing for the past 3 years.
I don't care if people think they are not talented, they really are to me, sure they have their problems, Lonzo is a blackhole on offense aside from passing of course, he can't score at all, Ingram is not an avid scorer neither but he is fine, however he has a temper, he reacts badly when something doesn't go in his way, there are other small stuff like that but over time I am sure they will figure something out and become much better.

It's basically a battle between the duo of defense vs the duo of versatility. I'm not saying that PG and Kawhi are not good in the offense, I'm just stating their trademarks as a player. I assume that most of you are saying that the splash brothers are duo of three point shooting, so just made a name for duos since NBA is back with just 2 superstars in a team not composed of superteams.
What is your take regarding the NOP vs Raptors? I'm going with NOP this. They practically hammering every team on their way just this preseason. Look, I know that New Orleans isn't a team that have an experience in playoffs, unlike Raptors that is a championship contender team but they have the best passer in the league and soon to be ROTY. If they can continue this chemistry they are building, I'm sure they'll be unstoppable. With the raptors, losing Kawhi is a big thing. Trading your best player(Demar DeRozan) in the team for a championship and then the star that brought you championship left lol. I am pretty sure that Pascal Siakam could limit Zion's offense in this game. Remember, after preseason, that's where the real game starts.

I'm with the Pelicans in terms of pre-season games. They are playing aggressively and we all noticed that. However, in terms of a head-to-head meetup, once the seasons commences, I will go with the Raptors. Even without Kawhi, we all noticed their evolution coming from a choked team to a well-improved team. Raptors shut down most of the top player's last playoffs especially the Greek Freek which is unstoppable not just because of Kawhi but the whole team's effort playing defense. Their defensive type of play will surely continue even without Kawhi. They stopped the monster Giannis so I'm sure they can handle well the young Zion even how athletic he is. As for the Pelicans, there is one thing I want to follow if he will blend properly to the team, especially to Zion, and that is Brandom Ingram. I want to see if he will still pursue his desire of being the main center of the offense. As you noticed in his 3 years unsuccessful run with the Lakers, he always acts as the main man even LeBron was there. He always does that ISO thing and failed last shots during clutch even there are other players around who is uncontested. There are lots of failed selfish plays etc. Now that Lakers traded him, I'm sure there is a sort of "I will show Lakers how good I am" on his mind and surely he will more focus on improving his offensive phase. I just hope he is matured enough to think that he needs to let go of his pride if he saw Zion is playing good in every particular game.

Yeah, nothing to worry about his sprain. And it's a plus that it's still a preseason although some other teams are looking forward to show themselves on how's the new roster they have. It's not worth it for him to play if it's possible to him just to take the rest and play for the main season.

It has a chance that something like that is on his mind. He might like to show that Lakers wasted a talent like him in exchange for Anthony Davis. This pre-season, Ingram is just silent and allowing Zion to be the main man of the team. We don't know if the same setup will happen once the season starts. There is no way Ingram will just allow himself to be a second option.

Yes they are both talented specially Williamson and Ingram but I don't think they can be a huge threat to top caliber teams this season. Both have some things to prove in the NBA and that's why they might do a one man show for them to lift up their status in the league.
