It lessens the expectation of a player like him that just got an injury.
Many times and many great players got an injury and that made the noise for them a little lower and decreased a lot of expectations for them. But I'm sure that he won't be forgotten quickly as long as he can prove himself back again.
If what he need is a team that relies in him then I guess he can prove himself with the Charlotte Hornets as Boston Celtics are playing with a lot of rotation, they changes their plays defending on their opponent but certainly Hornets are like an OKC team who relies on Westbrook or a Rockets team who relies on Harden. If that's the betterment of him and the team that he'll go to. That's absolutely going to be effective for him but we'll still have to see if that's going to work perfectly when the season starts.

Well, I'm a little bit anxious for the beginning of the season I hope the teams from this season are more balanced and competitive, but I think the Lakers will be able to win this championship again, let's see how they will behave during the regular season.
As long as there is small market and big market teams expect that there will be imbalance when it comes to the distribution of players. Starplayers will always of for the big market teams or the ones who will be competitive as they will always be looking for the highest pay day as well as the chance to become the champion that is why you will see some non-Playoff teams like the Lakers will suddenly become a play-off team because stars will sign a contract with them. You won't expect this kind of outcome for small market teams as there only hope is from drafting players or through trades. Those team who cannot afford to land some star players in their team are building their team silently but surely but his kind of mood also takes some risk especially if the players are not enthusiastic enough to bring their team into the playoffs. Not all players have the same mindset for some of them will only play well if they are with certain players they want to play with.

DeMarcus Cousins will sign a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Houston Rockets. If he is healthy and his body doesn't let him down again, this contract will be a good opportunity for him to relaunch his career.

I do not believe that there is a small market and a big market type of difference in the NBA as much as people claim. Last year Lakers won but they have missed playoffs many many seasons before that as we all know, they became good only after Lebron joined them and even that wasn't enough and they had to convince AD to come, which doesn't frequently happens but Lebron played in Cavs and Miami as well and brought stars with him there too and those teams are not major teams, this time it was Lakers turn to get Lebron and stars.
Miami was at finals last year, they are not considered a big market, toronto won before that and they are certainly not big market, GSW was a horrible team for decades before they became very good and they drafted both klay and curry and even draymond, only good player they got on their first run was Iggy and he wasn't some super star to get neither, they later got Durant but they were already good at that point. Plus they played Cavs almost every season which isn't a big market. Before that we had spurs who won 5 rings in 20 years that is not a big market, and miami obviously who won rings during pre-gsw era.
I can go back and count all the finals teams in the past 20 or even 40 years and show you how big markets are big markets and they do get good teams but small markets keep winning or at least going to finals almost every other year as well with proof but I doubt it is needed, you can check the finalists for past years and see that big markets are not guaranteed to go there, and many small market teams either win a ring or go to finals at least.

Raptors does not have an all star big man anymore with this news, I wonder what's their plan?
I didn't see that. Honestly. Yeah, Marc and Ibaka are both from Raptors and now they are left with nothing because they already signed contracts. Damn, it's really confusing. But they already made a move. (Just researched it after I read your post, thanks.) Toronto Raptors sign Aron Baynes, Chris Boucher to 2-year dealsIt's a good addition to the team.

Yeah teams like Suns, OKC, Hawks and Knicks have been building their teams like they are not going to fight for a title chance but they are not going to suck neither. Normally Hawks played very badly last year, but they are looking to surround Trae with a lot of good players so they could at least look like they can go 50% this year, which I doubt would happen, I still think they can't do that but it looks like they at least have a better chance this year compared to last year.
Knicks always sucks, they are getting not so bad players but they are all good role players and they have no superstar at all which means they probably won't even make it to playoffs. I still congratulate these teams on trying to get better, they might have just tanked for a good pick if they wanted to and it looks like (from FA signings) they are not doing that. Or maybe they will still tank with these players.

DeMarcus Cousins will sign a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Houston Rockets. If he is healthy and his body doesn't let him down again, this contract will be a good opportunity for him to relaunch his career. Good thing there is a team that still trusts him after 3 consecutive serious injuries he got within just 2 years. He is frustrated as he is eyeing a max contract to any team before those injuries got him which is not likely to happen now. Rockets need a Center and Boogie is fit for this. He badly wants to play but sadly, his body isn't cooperating with him. He needs to maintained healthy as much as possible.

But at least he was given another opportunity by the Houston management and hope that he can remain healthy.

Hard for Cousins to come back, he has been consistently injured, in the Warriors and in the Lakers which is his worst has he hasn't played even a single game in the regular season. Though he still has that name but we all know his current condition now, he also need a tough mental health now because for sure inside of him has been affected a lot.

The good part is, he had a team now. All he needs to worry about now is how he can contribute to the team. Achilles tear, quadriceps tear then torn ACL. I can't even imagine his mental state right now. But according to sports news, he's well-rested and can now play at full strength. We will need to see that though. It's damn sad but this may become the last year of his career if nothing is done. No disrespect to him but no team will waste money anymore on someone who won't contribute anything. He ain't like the last years of Nowitzki, Duncan, Carter, and Haslem. They can still provide a veteran perspective. (Compared it to them because Cousins was given a veteran's minimum.) Still, this is a good sign that some team wants to give him another shot.

I understand that giving break for this long could be really bad for players, and when they make a return they are rarely ever the same player, but he is not expected to be a dominant super force neither, he is just expected to fill the center position decently enough to let westbrook and harden score.
Right now Rockets do not look like they are crashing everything and tanking and going for a rebuild and trading their players. The talk this year was how westbrook wanted to go to charlotte and how harden wanted to go to nets but looking at the situation there right now, I would say they have a chance to be even better than last year. I really liked RoCO he was a great player and he will be missed but I guess that is the only thing they are missing and that’s it.

Nobody can't play at full strength after such serious injuries, and it's okay that Cousins got a minimum contract because the Rockets just don't want to risk. And yeah, Haslem was inactive as a player the last few seasons. I guess he was like a mental coach for Heat's young players.

Totally agree. First, he will need to maximize the minutes that will be given to him. It doesn't matter even if it's just garbage time. Somebody will always be watching him play. Somehow, if he achieves the trust of those scouts then he might be given more minutes as 2nd stringer. That's how it should be and I am worried about his mental toughness since he is one hot-headed guy. Here's an article about the remaining free agents. Top remaining free agents on the market: Where NBA teams can still find bargains this offseason and beyondStill have some good players remaining out there.

It's either a win-win situation for Rockets if Cousins remains healthy throughout the season and contribute as the main center for Houston. I think Cousins still has it, we see what he can do when he was with Golden State. So that is the best case scenario. However, if he will get injured again (hope not), then the gamble of Houston are not going to paid off and probably it will be Cousins last hurray in the NBA.

They know that already, that's why it's called a gamble because they will either win or lose. If he get injured again, it's the 2nd time around that he can't play, then I don't think there's another team that will be interested for him. But I could be wrong as well.

Is this one an interesting news? Pistons Called Wizards To Discuss Blake Griffin For John Wall TradeI think Blake does not fit with Pistons, the best seasons for Griffin was when he was still with the Clippers, I hope to see him back in a good team again. If he will get traded to Wizards, what are the chances of this team in the playoffs? He did try his best with the Pistons, even added new arsenal to his game with his three pointers. However, the team is really in poor shape and it seems that Blake thrives on a team with a good point guard like CP3. If he gets to Wizards and with no good supporting cast, I doubt that they will be able to go to the playoffs. A lot of team has vastly improved for the next season, if Wizard can't compliment Blake with another good A-player then it will be difficult for them to reach at least the 8th seed in a very competitive Eastern Conference.

For John Wall? I doubt the Wizards will let him go. They waited long enough for him to heal and this time might be the healthiest of him. But if they did choose to trade him then that means another plan will be set. 20 months for John Wall's Achilles injury to heal and in January 2021 it will be 24 months after surgery. I bet he's in really good shape by now.
