Too bad that the young lad had to suffer an injury early in his career but it's a good preparation for his career. He already started some weight training and shooting exercises as mentioned in the article so he could be scary when he returns. Chet has a decent shot outside and he could reach Toni Kukoc's level or maybe surpass it.

I don't think that Simmons can be a "shooting" guard, we all know that his one of his weak points, he can't shoot outside. He is more of a drive by player and assists man, so really a point guard. So now sure how they can space things up with Kyrie and Ben at the same time. Or it could be Irving and Simmons alternating as PG for the Nets, and then KD doing his thing and then Seth as tehir shooting guard. But we will have to see what kind of adjustment Nash will do with his 3 superstars that might overlap the position.

He needs to adjust. As I mentioned, looking at the Brooklyn Nets roster, there's already a good Point Guards there.

Although Shooting Guards technically means "outside shooter" doesn't literally mean they need to shoot outside lol. There's no need to follow that word exactly but rather the other role that SG does. SG can act as a duo with the PG when the latter is under hard defensive pressure by the opposing team. Obviously, he can still do assists even in an SG position.

Simmons just needs to do his usual way of getting points which is attacking the paint regardless of the assigned position.

I believe that Chet just had a freak accident and it wasn't even his first year at all, dude got injured during the summer. So if he goes to gym, gets buffed and gets better physique until next season, then he will be much more ready. What people do not understand is that the difference between college and NBA help is a lot, and I mean like driving a regular car vs being on a rocket ship type of difference.

And I think that's what we have been discussed once he got drafted, sure he has all the talent, but if his body is not going to support that athleticism, his body can't take the brutal beatings of a 82 regular games. So OKC trainers and conditioning coach will get their hands full on Chet and now we've seen him injured, that investment on him goes out of the window for the first season. Just imagine if he would get injured prior to joining the league, he might not be the second pick.

I am not saying he could have Giannis levels of difference, but I am sure he will get a bit more buff, just a bit. That's why I believe that we should be waiting for 2023-2024 season to start and he will look a lot more different and be a lot better.

Giannis is a freak, I don't think that Chet can be like that even if he lifts heavy. So what he needs to go is just get at least 20 lbs of lean muscle.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34457655/oklahoma-city-thunder-rookie-chet-holmgren-miss-2022-23-nba-season-foot-injury-suffered-pro-game

And there it is.  This has bust written all over it.  7 foot lanky children aren't meant for the bodying up on nba level players.  Chet is out for the season after a foot injury from guarding lebron.  This kid is going to be hurt every year.  They should have drafted jabari.
I was surprised to see this news a while ago and I know that someone's going to post it here and here we are. The season hasn't even started yet and Chet is already going to miss the whole season because of that ligament injury on his foot. That's sad on his end and this is like already a sign of his career to end bad for him. OKC has already lost an investment on him but I wish him all he'll bounce back for the next season. Damn, what a dream for the kid and then a sudden turn of things. I hope that his contract will still be there and they shouldn't be allowed to play outside the league if it's a resting season for all of the teams so, they're full blast only for the season's league.

Oh, there's a lot of hype around this kid for the past couple of days because of the way he played at his size. And now not even his first NBA game and he got injured already? This is a bad sign for OKC again. It was good that he was the number 2 pick though, if he would just be another rookie then we might not see his career prosper. Hopefully he can get back, still young we don't want to see another Greg Oden. Too much prospect in this career, number 1 pick, even higher than KD but never make it big because of his height, tall for his body and he can't take it as he suffers injuries after injuries forcing him to retire early.
Yeah, too much hype. He's a 2nd overall pick and that's why expectation was a lot on him. Well, I hope so too that it won't be the same scene on what happened on Greg. Whenever I have watched some videos of that guy, it makes me sad.
Well, it's going to be a long way for him and this season is just about to get started. He has to be patient and wait until the season ends and hopefully he's healed by that time.

Honestly, I think there will be a lot of trash talk in the Lakers locker room, considering Westbrook wasn't very complimentary about Beverley a few seasons ago.

I thinking the other way. These players will disregard their trash talk history on a certain player once they will become teammates. These guys are professional and will surely work as a teammate. Unless the trash talk is nothing personal, they will just forget it and work as a team.

Good thing also that Westbrook and Pat are playing different roles and expertise. Even though they will not have a friendly status, there's no conflict in their respective positions and roles for the team. And if they will play badly because of that history, LBJ might put a banhammer on them and ask the management to trade these players lol.

Agreed.  What people don't understand is a lot of the public trash talk is somewhat for show nowadays.  Back in the 80s and 90s there was real hate for your opponent, not much now.  And now that he is on the squad they have one goal.  Win.  They will drop all past stuff real quick.

Stephen A. Smith attacks again.
Quote
“I’m talking attitude, I’m not talking actions. I’m saying the attitude, the level of focus, commitment, determination, just putting your head down and doing the work. I’m hearing that he’s shortchanging the Warriors in that regard, and he’s got to get his act together because I’m a Jonathan Kuminga fan.”
https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/jonathan-kumingas-attitude-shortchanging-warriors-stephen-smith-hears

I don't know. He is young and hot-blooded, this is just normal at that kind of age. SAS should not be worrying too much about the kid. Steve Kerr knows what has to be done. If he won't be following disciplines and rotation then it's up to him. It's not like the Warriors rotate at him. Besides, Wiseman is back, so if Kuminga wants that minutes badly then he should do the right thing, or else he will be benched for a long time.

Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

Pat is experienced but also with an ego together with Lebron and Russ. They will collide if they always lose games. Pat is the guy that can be honest and will tell Russ to his face that he sucks. Cheesy

I'm not sure how this will turn out for the Lakers as we all have the same thoughts on this. I remembered NBA players who hates each other while they're on different team but eventually became a teammate. It's on the back of my mind but I can't remember who that was lol.
TBH with the Pat Bev acquisition, I don't think it's a bad trade for the Lakers as he is a good addition defensively which the Lakers clearly lacks last season.

The Lakers are reportedly targeting to re-sign Schroeder back as well.
That's the problem with the Lakers now. I wonder what is on Rob Pelinka's mind while doing this trade talks with the Jazz Cheesy.
I mean Russ and Bev's beef is way beyond other beefs and it has been that way for a very long time. From inside the court to interviews, they are still talking trash to each other.

Beverley is a 3-and-D guy and with the Lakers being 21st in the league defensively last season, he is a big addition to them but I'm still curious if he will be a fit to the team. Now with regards to Schroeder, I just hope that he will not request for a 4 year $100M deal just to join the Lakers but adding him again is a good addition to the team as they will have another reliable guard.

I am not saying he could have Giannis levels of difference, but I am sure he will get a bit more buff, just a bit. That's why I believe that we should be waiting for 2023-2024 season to start and he will look a lot more different and be a lot better.
I just saw some videos and pictures of the injury that Chet had and I confess that I am totally surprised, apparently it was a simple move, nothing more, but unfortunately it was a serious injury and that took him out of the whole season

I sincerely hope that he can recover from this injury and come back as well as possible, with a better physique and with a greater level of muscle mass... although apparently his body shape is like of a "skinny person" (maybe even with a similar body shape like Kevin Durant).

KD staying with nets is definitely something I would love to see. I mean they already didn't had a terrible team. Kyrie can shoot, KD we know can shoot very well, Joe Harris can shoot and Seth Curry can shoot, plus Ben Simmons can drive inside and pass out.
It's actually a smooth feeling to read that news that the KD trade and rumors have come to an end. It's best for all of the teams that have been in the news that showed interest of taking him.

I guess the buzz made by the team will also give that huge benefit from having those ticket sales for the very first days and opening of the league again for the matches of Nets.

Maybe a good advertising / marketing to have more interest from the fans knowing that KD will stay.

Or, it can backfire as annoyed fans might boycott him since he created that drama. But let's give the Nets another shot, mentioning those
info above gives fans a reason to watch them out.

We can't say if they'll be able to blend together and have a smooth season, all will be witness when they start making the plays and
see if there're sparks with both defense and offense.

Both scenario is totally possible but I'm thinking that the 2nd scenario mentioned above is the most likely to happen because of Kevin Durant's drama recently that end badly as the management has been connected by it. We can't know for sure what would happen this coming season or how would the franchise handle them in the training camp but one thing is for sure though, there's a lot of awkwardness that will happen in the first few days.

I believe that Chet just had a freak accident and it wasn't even his first year at all, dude got injured during the summer. He really needs to add mass if he wants to stay in his position and play NBA full season. He won't last that long in his frail body frame. He will be injured every time he faces anybody with great athleticism like Giannis on the floor or gets banged up by other centers heavier than him. He is still young and can get that body that he needs with proper nutrition and training. Let's see in the following years whether he delivers or become what the internet is already calling him, Oden 2.0.

Yes, I also saw the video and it seems that when he lands, everything looks ok, but the injury is worst than we though as he will be out for the whole season. Nothing is to blame though, it was really a freak accident, however, the damage is too severe for him. He is still very young and that is a good thing for him. So it might not be a career ending. As others have said, he need to add some mass and muscle so that he can at least avoid this kind of injuries in his lower bodies.

With basketball as your profession, anyone could buff themselves up whenever they want it. Because they all have the focus to enhance themselves in every possible way unlike when you're still in college. These kids work hard to reach this far. Now, what they'll gonna do is to work harder than before as they just entered the league of the best basketball players in the world. So, yeah everyone is expecting for Chet to enhance his physical appearance and make it more solid.
This kid got potential as he has the skills of a guard and he still have a lot time in the NBA and a lot of time to improve. So, this 1 season he'll miss won't mean anything as long as he continue working regardless of the injury.

Aside for doing more extra efforts to became more better player they also need to do extra care since your potential will go into waste if you are injury prone player. And I guess the current injury accumulated by Chet is totally bad for his career since imagine how big the impact with it for not playing for his whole rookie season.

Not good because he was expected to have a great rookie, but we can never guess what will happen, basketball is a physical sport, injury could happen anytime. Well, if he will be out for the whole season, he just have to make sure he will do everything to start strong and make a name in the NBA.

A very disappointing news, he is a rookie that could make his name in the NBA due to his great skills. Injury is really killing an NBA player's dream, hopefully he will recover soon, missing one whole season is really disappointing on his part as well.

It's fine he's not the only one who had hurt himself before his NBA debut and made an amazing season after that. Most likely they will still gonna have some light practice to condition their body and will gonna be ready once they are fully recovered just like Zion Williamson this upcoming season. It's not just his time yet this season and maybe when he gets back he is fully aware of what role he gonna play to further strengthen their team.

Best to take it as good timing in preparing his body. After he saw those physicalities, it's best for him

and for his training camp to focus on adding more muscles, he has the speed and the shooting touch, but NBA is not just
like an ordinary venue, he needs to be stronger for him to create a good impact.

One season for resting his injury and for a good preparation on his upcoming debut playing, looking for the best outcome.

I was hoping I could witness early on why he was picked by OKC rather than Jabari Smith. We might not see that in this season. Yes, this is just like the expectation with Zion, the only difference was Zion was the number 1 pick and even after resting for a year the hype doesn't end although Ja Morant had proven so much being a pro than him.

What I wish is for the kid Chet is to not let this become a mental problem. It's just an injury it will heal and he can still go back.
Lisfranc injury is said to take a year before it heals fully. That will mean we should not expect for him even if the OKC go far as post season.

We have seen a lot of players getting lost in time because they had to face a lot of injuries in their careers. Greg Oden is just like one of them. He had a really promising career but just because of injuries he could not continue playing basketball. I don’t think anything like that is going to happen with Chet. I believe he will be able to make it come back in spite of his injury. It is true that he is going to miss the current season (most probably). But I expect him to recover and come back very strong.

Chet is out for this season if I am not wrong. Because of Lisfranc injury, he is gonna miss the 2022-23 season. I hope he is gonna recover soon. He was the number 2 draft pick by the way. This is going to be very bad news for Oklahoma City there will be missing the service office really great player which is not ideal. But at the same time, it is not the end of the world for them in my opinion. I think they will be able to manage.
