The only problem is our fear that he will be injured again and all the money they invested in him will be wasted since they could not utilize him. However, I know they are smart enough to understand what they are doing. They know better than us, so they gave a good contract to a player they believe in and his capability.

I agree that he played really well before he was injured and he will probably come back stronger. The problem is, that videos that are spread all over social media are his mistakes, and most who will believe it are those who don't really watch basketball. He has an attitude and that is not a problem, a basketball player must have confidence to be a better player. I can say it's just his competitive nature.
But he must also accept that the NYK's new leader now is Brunson and it's filled with Villanova players. Adjusting is the hard part in a team but he ain't a guard so I guess it should not be that hard for them. He and OG will do a great job at their position especially if they need rebounds and defense in the painted area.

They played so great in the playoffs without Randle, of course it will be good if he was there, but not sure what will be the outcome of that series.

IMO, they could've played even greater with Randle on the floor. The Knicks were on a 6 game winning streak and was 12-2 the month before Randle got injured. But even before the arrival of Jalen, the team were starting to flourish under Randle and they became better with the much needed addition. So I guess the Knicks' management will give him that contract. Maybe there will be some movements or trades or they'll just pay the luxury tax in order to keep Randle. But we'll see, maybe Randle is willing to receive less in order to avoid higher luxury taxes.

Yeah, I would agree he deserves the contract extension, I mean evaluate for the value he adds to the team when fit and on the court, he didn't get injured jet-skiing or at home, he got he injured while on the Knicks jersey, occupational hazard, I guess ? Yeah, for me that KIA Season MVP that he got was just media trying to stop Jokic from making a record. I won't say he doesn't deserve it but obviously, it was Jokic who wins the stats but since it's a voting process, Jokic cannot do anything if they try to stop him from making history that will be difficult to erase. So the next option is their vote.

Now discussions float up regarding on new contract eligibility what Randle can get and now Knicks is thinking about this matter since maybe as you said they are careful giving huge contract to him since they are afraid that they might just waste their money he get injured again. I suspect that's what happened. Because the league feel that americans should be more superior and has to be dominating the leauge.  Jokic had already won a back to back MVP before that if I'm not mistaken, so they tried to kill that streak. PG13 is very serious, I hope he'll be the one that will lead the team, not Embiid. It remains to be seen this coming season if the chemistry will work because with Harden before, it didn't.

Speaking of efforts I really don't even why Embiid was on the team USA to be honest, after the surgery he's had and how he struggled in the playoffs with fitness, I think they only put him on the roster just to secure his service to commit to USA once and for since there were talks last season about whether he would choose to play for France.

I'd say the Olympics Embiid is completely different from what he brings to the NBA, perhaps he's not fully committed to this because there is no way he could be the center of attention, I think we can expect a completely different player when he gets back to Philly.

He isn't now; it's still LeBron acting as their real leader, and we have this clowny but talented Edwards, who is easy to play with. All in all, this Team USA has good chemistry, which is why they are playing well. So, bringing in some veterans who are still making contributions to the team really works for them, unlike the roster that represented during the FIBA World Cup, which consisted of young NBA star players.

Not at risk mate, there will be no playoffs to talk about if this how Embiid would play during the next regular season, but I strongly doubt it, I believe quite a number of players in this team except the veterans that have been here before are not used to not having the team almost centered around them and the entire team playing to these players strength, even when he's on the floor for team USA a lot of possession will not and doesn't have to go through him, probably he's still yet to adapt to that fact, look at when KD came in from the bench in the opening game and literally lifted the team USA within minutes almost individually, but Lebron on the other hands, has also been doing it all too. This USA team has enough offensive fire power, in the backcourt and on the wings as well so that have zero need to play through their big men, and the primary object of their big men would always be grabbing boards and defense, which Embiid quite lacks as a big man imo.

Sad world we are living in now. Most people do is just bash others like they are always entitled to do so.
The New York Knicks did a great job last year acquiring a ton of players that I actually didn't expect would work that fast because of chemistry problems but surprisingly they played well together and it's awesome that they reached the playoffs and better, to the second round after defeating the 76ers in the first round.
Sadly, injuries are part of the game, OG and Randle getting hurt had a big-time effect on their team and they are left with a small ball lineup that I doubt could win the series against the strong Pacers (although they almost did). Heck, that's the time I saw Josh Hart not sitting down unless it's a timeout.
They need Randle, it will be difficult to find a forward at the same level as him and I bet he would accept it considering how far they reached last season.

Anyhow, yeah, Joel is there as started five for pure defensive purposes. And then Bam later to finished the job, same with AD.

There are a lot of players that can really give offense to this team obviously, but they also need to put defensive presence and that's where Joel is inserted in the beginning so that teams might not want to go inside or at least they will change their shots as Joel is in the middle.

He’ll win the gold, but the fulfillment isn’t as great compared to playing with France and perhaps leading the team to a championship. Maybe Embiid just wants an easier path to a medal, but we can't blame the fans for being disappointed because the team could have been better with him. So, he’ll play with France. All the great talents are big men: Embiid, Wemby, and Gobert. Will they play together as part of the first 5? LOL.

USA have been enjoying their time in the Olympics though.    It is such an easy work for them with all these NBA stars of course. They don't care about FIBA this much. We don't see most of these players there. But they always give a big importance to the Olympics. I'm already adding a gold medal for them as there is no other team to stop them. There is Canada which also has NBA players but still they are not as powerful as USA.

Well, I wouldn't be 100% on them. We saw what can happen on a bad day. They looked really bad against South Sudan and against Germany it was also a tie game with 5min to go. Sure these were exhibitions but I am convinced if the US has a bad day and Canada or Germany( hopefully) has a very good day there is a chance.

That's probably some of what went into the decision.  Having goberylt and wemby already do they really need 3 centers.  Would be funny to see who would be listed as small.forward on that team if all 3 were on the court lol.  They would get ran off the court with that team.  I get it individually tye are good defensively but how do they cover faster smaller forwards like taytum?
