Maybe it is now a good time to enter on PIVX. Price is relatively if I want to build a masternode out of 10000 PIVX. Definitely it is worth a shot, with alt-coins are in red mode.

Does this release include the official zero coin implementation? How do I make use of the zero coin implementation with the new wallet?

It says nothing about Zerocoin in the release notes, this sounds more like a preparation release to handle new message types etc.

The list of masternodes is not in the masternodes tab anymore, is that normal ? I'm only staking but I saw the list with the previous version.

from the release notes:
Quote
All Masternodes List GUI Removal

With the standardization and reformatting of the masternode list (masternodelist) RPC command, there is no real use case to keep the full list of masternodes in the GUI. This GUI element causes a great deal of extra overhead, even when it is not being actively displayed. The removal of this list has also proven to resolve a number of linux-based errors

Note that the GUI list of masternodes associated with a controller wallet remains intact.

That's pretty lucky, I got about 30% less stake rewards over 3 months, there were periods when the rewards just stopped entirely for a week or even more.

Are you sure ? I run a masternode (thats 10000 pivx) and i dont get 66 PIV a month ... the reward on MN should be higher than 4 staking .... is there a problem with the sesaw algorithjm or are u just lucky???

I'm pretty sure he is just lucky Smiley For example I had 2 days with a total of 6 rewards then the next 6 rewards took 2 weeks, it's just variance.

Current MN reward is a bit higher than for staking, but even the staking reward is within the general ballpark for what Turing was reporting. Staking rewards are pretty random, and the 'correct' value would have been somewhere around ~35 PIV for staking 6K PIVX for a month. So yeah, guessing he just a had a lucky month. Chances are he'll have an unlucky one soon enough and things'll even out.

where is their information that explains how obfuscation works

good point , i am also interested in that !

Back in March, Jakiman said this in answer to the same question:

Quote
It allows mixing of coins through the masternode network to make those amount of coins much harder to trace in the blockchain when you send it to someone. It's inherited from DASH. (Private Send) It is not really needed unless you really want to hide your transfers. It's not completely untraceable but makes it more difficult to track down the source and target.

...and the PIVX website says this:

Quote
Mixing Mechanism: In wallet coin mixing based on CoinJoin with various improvements over the original, but done in a decentralized fashion facilitated by the network of masternodes. This provides for an additional layer of privacy in transactions, while not perfectly anonymous, it is a far cry better than the standard bitcoin transaction. If a nefarious actor were to control 50% of the current masternodes they would have less than 0.5% chance of de-anonymizing an individual transaction that was mixed with 8 rounds of Obfuscation.

...and the Wikipedia article on CoinJoin is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CoinJoin

Hope that helps.

Would the staking rewards be higher if we split the 6K into 6 X 1000 coin accounts in the same wallet ? I remember reading something like that for another staking coin.

I've been staking 11000 PIV for 1 month and 3 days now and I made 127 PIV, this is in the same ballpark.

I'm thinking about getting another 9000 PIV and setting up two master-nodes, It's a pity that I didn't hear about PIV earlier because atm. one has to invest quite some money to get a master-node running.

Same over here, 10,000 PIV and made ~105 PIV staking in one month, so I think these numbers are correct.

That's a ~$200 reward in one month, not bad Smiley

I'm running my PIVX client on my VPS, together with other wallets and a Waves Node.

Makes me wonder why staking seem to be rewarded more frequently than expected.

I run my wallets on 2 small N3700 PC's located in my meter cupboard, drawing together about 15W.
They are on separate IP's, I only need some extra PIV to get 2 master-nodes running.
