So I like pivx the more I look at it, but one thing that kind of worries me which my friend, who has been in crypto since inception, pointed out...is that Pivx tweets about price speculation and "Pivx to the Moon!"...which you only see with pump and dump coins or garbage altogether. I have yet to see one serious project that does this. Can devs please chime in. Otherwise I am very bullish and would like to start investing in this project.

Hey!  So, this is something that as a community lots of people were having fun with...as "to the moon" etc are somewhat of an insider crypto joke really.  Some of them "skyrock" were done by folks outside of PIVX and it became an almost overnight meme.  To your points, PIVX has (and will probably continue to have) much more of a "community/person/social" feel to it.  THAT SAID - we are tailoring posts and what gets distributed now to keep the messages segmented and targeted.  Things that go to FB vs Twitter v Linkedin.

Also, not sure if you have been in the slack - but come take a look (slack.pivx.org) at the community there Smiley

Ok awesome. This is my bct acct on mobile. I'm zero from my desktop. I don't use slack much, I did join pivx telegram. I have some invested I'll be buying more in coming months and tweeting more about it. Thanks again for the clarification.

Yeah.  We're looking at other p2p platforms as well for the communities to hang in.  Slack is the largest right now of course.  I will say (of course with a BIAS) - PIVX has a "feel" unlike most others, which I believe stems from the fact it really is a community coin and in that a true consensus/decentralized endeavor (more so than "most" that say they are decentralized).  With that, you'll get a LOT more personality/persona/human-esque feel to it.  We're always working on refining and focusing as need be...but in that, you will find a LOT of flavor that spins from the fact you have 7700+ people all working collectively in and for PIVX.

In 2018 we will see x10 for Pivx. One of best projects.
I think you will see close to $10 before 2018. Once the zerocoin implementation is release, the price will go up.

Then a masternode would be worth 100.000 $  ... guess some will then sell off and the masternode count will decrease .... not many will pay 100.000$ to install a new masternode ....

It did take a bit of time to let it sink in: when there are less masternodes, the seesaw mechanism will increase the rewards for masternodes, as an incentive to... keep it running.

How many masternodes are there running now?Is the count going down or up in the recent weeks?

There are a few to check:
http://pivxtv.azurewebsites.net/?f=USD&n=1 (this you can set your # of MN to see various elements)

Apparently there are 1123 Masternodes online.  That said, it looks like a hosting provider is having some issues, so a few MN are offline at the moment.  It's been hovering around 1800-2000 MN (you can check the graphs here: http://178.254.23.111/~pub/DN/DN_masternode_payments_stats.html

Are there problems with the blockchain at the moment?

At height 793881 the blockchain stalled for a while, and when I look at the cryptoid block-explorer the height is totally off.
Atm. cryptoid shows height 794093 and my wallets show height 794041, it looks like a fork.

this can happen when a significant amount of masternodes are offline (see posts above)
you just need to resync

cheers

Well, I don't understand why this could happen when there are some master-nodes offline, there were still ~1100 MN online which should be more than enough. My guess is that it has something to do with some people or master-nodes still using the old wallet, probably cryptoid is still using the old wallet as well. This still doesn't explain why the blockchain stalled for a while at height 793881.

There was a slight hiccup with some code in the wallet. Anyone that was running the newest wallet should not have forked off. Only old versions would have forked. The rest of us on the newest wallet just had to wait a bit longer than usual for the chain to keep moving.

pivx.presstab.pw is on the correct chain and always feel free to check in there. You can be pretty certain that pivx.presstab.pw will be the most likely service to be on the correct chain. And if it ever gets off, you better bet that I will have it on the correct chain immediately  Cool

Pivx is very solid project...devs are really profesional...I wish them to keep going

The more solid project is visible from every feature and development update, and the end result is a price that is so expensive, getting people interested to buy more, including this PIVX.
