The staking for charity is flowing in for the tree plant crowdfund! Thank you!
Great to see some funds coming in there. Do you know how much we need to raise in total - its not too clear =)

Short answer, the more the merrier. Any overage could be pushed to another crowdfund.

Long answer, not much. I hope to order the trees from my county's soil and water conservation department. These can range from $1 to $5 per sapling depending on the tree. I live in a very rural area and could find a virtually endless amount of land to plant but, a neighbouring farmer has an area that I already discussed with him. I am thinking 20 trees but, that number might change a bit depending on the type of tree selected. I have to give the land owner the final decision on the type of tree.

I will have my nieces and nephews help me, wearing EverGreenCoin T-shirts, and it will make for some good photos for promotion and such. Hopefully helping us have larger tree plant endeavours in the near future. If there is a large overage, perhaps the funds would be set aside for the next tree plant. Of course, I would let the community dictate that decision at that time.

Great - so the plan is to raise between $20 and $100 - I think that is pretty achievable - would be great if we got a price increase before the planting. I think now is the best time to donate to the funds whilst the price is pretty low. I'm working on building my buy and sell chains which will help future liquidity of the coin and have a little impact on price stability - but will be sure to throw a few more EGC in that direction.

EGC is quite stable, the team is still working hard to deliver things and make massive adoption, although the price is not looking good like last ATH, it still very promising project.

Maybe DEV should make time by time some bounty rewards to get more people into game

What and when are the next steps regarding development?

Hello PS1987,

The specifics and timelines can be more generally answered by Steven, but our priorities which were discussed openly in December in the freenode #EverGreenCoin channel included the website, Solar Staker, Android wallet, improving the RPC API, tree planting, fixing the forking we had been experiencing, QT wallet improvements, rebasing the repository to be able to take advantage of upstream contributions and further developing the water side of the project.

Additionally, we planned at the time to identify key leaders, engage key leaders, establish weekly meetings, identify mutual goals, develop plans of action, set dates to finish goals and complete goals on time.
We also discussed using the alert system to help send notifications of environmental causes.

I will defer to Steven to comment further about the generalities and specifics as well as those items which we have already completed.

Thanks for asking such a valuable question!

Best Regards,
-Chicago

What and when are the next steps regarding development?

What: Compile and release EverGreenCoin v1.6 wallets for Windows and Mac.

When: Today.

Beyond that: Completing and releasing the Android wallet and then shifting more focus onto the solar staker, in regards to both development and business logistics to bring the solar staker to market. There are also some developments not public yet that soon will be.

FYI - Cointopay seems to be having an issue with accepting EGC at the moment. Their system does not register payments made.
I just emailed them and is waiting for a reply.

Cointopay was recently verified. Their interface can sometimes be misleading, showing no confirmations when in fact confirmations are happening. Other times, it will report confirmations accurately as they happen. I have noticed this with other coins as well, not just EGC.

Enough time might not have passed but of course, I am curious to their response. I will be on the lookout for a confirmation email that a payment was received.

Thanks for reporting this.

EDIT: I am doing some tests...

It might just be their interface, but its been 2½ hours since the transaction was made. Double checked the block explorer and addresses and everything was fine there. I guess for now all I can do is wait for their reply.
Hopefully its just delayed somewhere in their system.

There is a small delay with compiling the Windows and Mac wallets because of a new dependency used in v1.6. Because of this, they might not be tested and released until tomorrow. I will make every effort to release them as early as possible tomorrow. Sorry for the premature 'today' announcement. I did not forsee this dependency being the hurdle it has turned out to be.

Thanks in advance for your patience!

...

You can already. The syntax is:

Code:
stakeforcharity <EverGreenCoin Address> <percent> [Change Address] [min amount] [max amount]

So, to donate half of your staking rewards to the EverGreenCoin Foundation for example, you could:

Code:
./evergreencoind stakeforcharity EdFwYw4Mo2Zq6CFM2yNJgXvE2DTJxgdBRX 50
