Ok, I had a careful think about it, and decided to submit a pull request for a fork at block 257000 to completely remove autohodling in accordance with the Nutocracy motion. It also fixes the bug with matured deposits continuing to earn interest.

https://github.com/HOdlcoin/HOdlcoin/pull/86

I hope we'll have a quick review period and then get it deployed asap.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote on recent motions, but after consideration I thought merely reducing the period has a whiff of deckchair re-arrangement about it, so I coded for the motion that enjoys greatest support.

So at the end, the changes were as simple as I thought after checking the v2 fork commits. The only non-obvious change is the part where you fix the interests after maduration period.

Is there any technical documentation on the coin to start learning more about it and crypto-currencies in general?

Please explain more. What about payout or roi?

Indeed, 166% interest rate doesn't mean 166% ROI. Can someone who understands more about this coin explain the economics here?

You have 3 angles in terms of ROI and all of them are really worthwhile.

Angle #1 - The coin you mine gains interest while it's locked (this may change soon)
Angle #2 - The coin gains interest if it's unlocked and you lock it
Angle #3 - This coin is going to gain value big time just you wait and see

If you're not HOdling you're doing it wrong Wink

Hi dev of HODLcoin... I try to deposit some HODLcoin to yobit.net via my wallet for exchange. But they said that our source code has update and we must send them a new source code! Like that:
"Deposit\Withdrawal coin will be available after you upgrade the source code of the wallet. Unfortunately the developers are in no hurry to send you updates
- therefore, in order to avoid the loss of users, the network is not available.
If you have updated the source code of the coin, send us (https://yobit.net/en/maintenance_request/ Free)and we will promptly correct the problem on the coin.
Thank you for contacted the support."
Could u help us? Only at yobit we can exchange.. so if cannot deposit or withdrawal... Our coin haven't liquidity.... Pls check!

Outstanding!  Grin

Right now I see the chain at block 240,207 so I'm wondering when is the correct time to update?

After the pull request is merged if you're using the source, or after binaries are released if you use binaries.

What about Hodl listed on poswallet.com? Dev should get in contact with them and see if coin can get listed there. They also provide exchange feature.

Don't know about poswallet - but be aware HOdlcoin is not POS.

I do agree we're looking for a small, reliable exchange to add us after the fork code is settled and merged. I don't think we're going to be listed on the majors any time soon.

Yep, pretty straightforward changes.

Our ANN here is pretty technical, and once you're comfortable looking at Bitcoin, you can understand the differences by looking at the diffs between the codebases.

This is going to depend on Fuzzbawls - he's pretty busy at the moment. He's put together an amazing build system and it mostly automated I think, but he'll need to pull the trigger on it or explain how it's done.

Yobit suspended withdrawals and deposits a week ago for unspecified reasons. It's an improvement over the previous occasion when they only suspended withdrawals! Trade on Yobit with caution. They may not be liquid, and my guess is they'll eventually do a Cryptsy.

yeah the btc exchange rate has gone way down, but the USD price has been stable or rising.  this is expected I would think given that btc has gone through the roof.  we're not really losing value we're simply comparing to digital gold with a ridiculous price.

I just got an email alert that pull request #86 has been merged.... that means we should all update right away?

the binaries aren't out yet so I wouldn't say there is a lot of urgency.  Incoming feature of the new wallet (as heard on slack), wait for it, you can sort the Hodlings list on the overview tab!  It just makes my day.

Heads up  Cool version 3.0 source code is out! https://github.com/HOdlcoin/HOdlcoin/releases/

I don't see the .exe's for Windows, Mac & Linux but hopefully those will be available shortly.

Based on my reading this new fork takes hold as of block 257,000 and as of this post we're at block 241,836 so if you do the math that would mean that in roughly 27 days or so the older versions will become out of date.

HOdl on my friends  Tongue

P.S. Many thanks to everyone that contributed to the code necessary for this fork as well as to all those who contribute to the health of this coin!
