Everything is fine. I got the new wallet up and running. Mining hash rate on my machine has doubled. im seeing 380 hs with 7 wallets running. Huge improvement from old version. Fish
I'm seeing a good bit of "not responding" hanging the wallet using 3.0 version win64. If I wait long enough it resolves but it's a little worrisome. Started solo mining in the wallet and it instantly crashed.

Some wallets work better on 32 bit operating systems.

So what does this wallet Upgrade do ?
The minimum locking time for mined balances has now changed ?

once the fork block is hit, there will be no auto-locking of newly mined coins from that point on. You can still choose to lock the up if you want to. also, your HOdlings window is now sortable. also, a bug was fixed concerning interest being continuously earned by balances that have matured. I'll let Freetrade explain that one.

So I tried running the wallet as an admin, and that seemed to help with the freezing. But as soon as I engaged solo mining it crashed again as it has been. I then loaded it on a Core i7 laptop and engaged solo mining. It seemed to sail along nicely for a while, but now is getting a lot of freezing of just the wallet (sometimes minutes at a time). Other apps open are responding normally. Getting 62h/s on 4 threads. Back to the AMD machine. I manually blew away everything to do with HODL and reinstalled it. It came up normally and started to catch up to the blockchain ( 1year and some behind as expected). I shut it down, copied my wallet file into the directory, and started it back up. It's been stuck at the initial splash screen with "Done Loading" on it for about 20 minutes now and "Not responding" at the top of that box.

So the fresh mined coin holding period is still 1 year?
up to block 257000, after that you ll get the coins , and you can decide for yourself to deposit. Thank you for the answer. I hope the price can start to climbing again soon.

Reloaded 2.0 from scratch on AMD machine, added wallet file, resynced chain from nothing. Solo mining works fine at 79h/s, no freezing. Not sure what to do now.

You could try switching the optimizations off -
optimineraes=0 and optimineravx2=0
are you comparing 78h/s x1 on v2 against 60h/s x 4 on the new machine? You might just be seeing better performance taking up more cpu. you could try just running on 1 or 2 processors - genproclimit=1

So there was a 30,000 HODL bounty for the optimized code - I think it's 90% there - we've still got crashes on some chips using the code but I think most users are seeing much better solo mining results now, so I want to reach closure on it.
Both Optiminer and Fuzz contributed to it, so I propose to split the bounty 50/50. All those in favour say aye.

Im good with that, split it up. Lets move on from this.
I was a AMD man for a long time. I had the same weird problems on my noble wallet for years. it would lock up for mins at a time. Wallets would have to be loaded one at a time in a certain order to work. some wallets never liked to work together and would crash and make you delete and reload. I hate to point the finger at your chip but same stuff I was dealing with for years. My old computer burnt up I had a warranty, they replaced my AMD box with a 1699 usd cyberpc intel i7. 4.2 GHZ . this chip has real 8 core, not virtual cores like amd. its like driving a Mercedes. Ive had none of those problems. Im not suggesting you go buy a new computer. just throwing this out there for discussion on reasons why this could be happening to you. Fish

I was not intending to compare the performance of the i7 vs the AMD processors. I mentioned the performance of the i7 to try to give some insight into the performance of that machine and yet note the freezing on the i7 regardless of whether mining was enabled or not. I did actually try using genproclimit=1 on the i7 but again the wallet (and nothing else on the machine) is freezing up regardless of mining on/off. On the AMD, I was unable to get a hash reading while 3.0 was installed because the wallet crashed every time mining was engaged so thus far I don't have anything to compare to the 78h/s on 2.0 on the AMD. I suppose the next thing I'll try is genproclimit on that one with another fresh install of 3.0. In general though, if I have to turn off the optimizations (and perhaps limit the threads) to make it work then there really is no point in solo mining with the 3.0 wallet. I'll get much better performance simply staying with the Optiminer pool (assuming it stays online after the switch). I would very much like to be able to solo mine both to support network diversity and to have a backup option when/if a pool goes down. Speaking of the optiminer pool, I've been able to successfully mine with the pool (which is certainly using the optimizations) with both machines without freezing up the machines. Am I really the only one seeing issues with the 3.0 wallet?

@FishMaster - It seems to not be cpu brand specific. WiseBC is having app hang issues on his AMD 6 core and I am having app hang issues on an Intel CPU. Oddly enough I also have an AMD cpu with 6 cores that is doing great on version 3 and also a different model Intel CPU that is working fine also. I have no worries and for sure the issue will be diagnosed and resolved before long. It's no oddity that new code or code changes will have a glitch or two.
