The benefit of giving away free lisk , is the it helps to get more people to know about coin.
The more people that know about the coin, the better the chance that it will become successful.

It's just a way of advertising, instead of paying funds to buy a banner, or signature campaign, or something like that, they are just giving it away at small amount so new people could try and enjoy the lisk platform.

As I see that there are more and more new users joining the lisk discussion, I'd like to advice you not to vote for gdtpool as it's just pointless and you won't make any money. They change their delegates almost every month, and to be eligible for the reward, you have to change your votes every month too, and such change costs 1 LSK, yet in a month with them you earn maybe 0.01 LSK if you have a small wallet (less than 500 LSK). Instead, vote either for elite that may not be the most likeable one, but at least they are consistent and pay you, or of course get interested in robinhood and their liberspirita, liskpro pool.

you can just vote for gdtpool only. It is a "common" 90% share pool. All the voters will receive the 90% share once it is in top 101 (with the only exclusion of GDT members).
To vote all the rest of GDT members for a "gdtpool" voter is optional, not mandatory, but doing it the voter will be entitled to receive some bonuses.

In fact, actually gdtpool is not in top 101 so it is just sharing the gold level voters bonus who are donations made by GDT members to their supporters.
