I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering
yes you are right, bitcoin being used for illegal activity, but its not main reason why goverment must ban bitcoin,as we know,so many payment also used for same thing, and goverment not ban that payment/currency,illegal activity that use bitcoin just will make bitcoin have bad label or mark, and more people will afraid to use bitcoin.

but you know well that bitcoin do not have such trust as the dollar has. The dollar is nation-wide and important economic currency that has absolutely other destination, unlike the bitcoin. and according to well-known experience, the laws are the laws are not written until that time while splash precedents happen. The same was in the Soviet Union when MMM financial pyramid raised. Their government should not interrupt in that process at first glance. But indeed they should prevent the global machinations

Yes some bitcoins are used for illegal activity but the focus on banning or controlling should be on the items banned themselves not the payment method, Dollar is used by criminals as well and it is not banned.

Yes some are using for illegal activities. This describes that only a very minimal number of users are getting involved in illegal activities. This number of the users can also be reduced if some initiatives or technology developments were made in bitcoin transactions.

Speaking in percents, there are more people using money for than bitcoins. People will always use whatever they can for illegal activities. BTC should not be blamed for what people choose to do. Though that could attract unwanted government attention towards BTC and try to regulate it.

Everything that has a value will frequently be used for illegal activity & has been for thousands of years. These kind of threads pop up so many times, it's boring seeing them.

Yes bitcoins are used for illegal activities.
Any currency basically cash can be used for illegal purpose, so bitcoin can also be used.

The first to adopt new technologies are typically vice industries because they have limited or no other options.  Cash still supersedes bitcoin for use in illegal activity, however as bitcoin becomes more adopted and more mainstream it will be used much more in all industries.

Probably, but so is cash.  Just because something is being used for illegal activities dosnt make it bad in itself, i could name you many things that are used for illegal activities, cars,guns,women,boats,cash,bitcoin........ Huh

And by the way if governments could stop bitcoin they would have done so already, thats the whole point,,,,, THEY CANT  Grin

Yes some bitcoins are used for illegal activity but the focus on banning or controlling should be on the items banned themselves not the payment method, Dollar is used by criminals as well and it is not banned.

Dollar is the most widely used criminal money, most dollar notes have traces of drug residue. It is the official reserve currency of many countries.

Since bitcoin got to popularity for being used on a darkweb market the Silkroad, many people assume that it is its only purpose.
But, cash is also used for illegal activities as well, but it doesn't mean that everyone that has cash is a criminal...

Correct. And more people die in car wrecks than do from exploding hand grenades.
Which is not to say that we should legalize hand grenades and ban cars.
Guess why FTW.

Nope. Bitcoin was created to finish and fight with financial censorship. Bitcoin was never meant and designed to be anonymous and used for illegal things.

Bitcoin or cash its all the same,to say bitcoin is responsible it a nice way of shilling for the man.
Cash moves with ease through the right channels and would suspect it finances a lot of terror cells compared to bitcoin.
The pedophiles are a different group though and would think they like bitcoin due to not having to reach out to the other dirty deviants they buy off.

We can never know what was the main purpose of creating bitcoin. What is important is bitcoin is not used for only illegal market today.

Yes, bitcoin is very popular in dark web but paper money is being used for illegal stuff in daily life as well. That doesn`t make bitcoin the "bad guy"

Bitcoin is getting more and more popular among honest people like us who want nothing more than privacy in their economy.

'Course it's being used for many illegal activities... if you go to the gambling section of this forum you'll see lotta people who use BTC with this purpose.

But, BTC has only 7 years, the past history is full of "illegals" using fiat... the "old" money is much more "corrupted" than BTC ... it's' a question of History.

BTC is beautiful, we can trace people much more easier Cheesy
