Every currency in the world is used for illegal activities.

Dollar, Euro, Pounds, BTC, you name it. It's used for buying drugs etc.

Yeah bitcoin don't has a monopoly. Criminals will use anything they can grap their hands on too to make money.

All currencies are used for illegal activities. So the answer to your question is yes, but along with all the other currencies out there.

Everyone is repeating the same answer that criminals are using every currency for crimes, with their modified words.
The reason of this thread is that the transaction of bitcoin is anonymous which hides he transactor from other people, which provide an opportunity to the criminals to use it.
So the OP is asking about that , and he may need the technical answer for his question.

Yes criminal use btc but they are skeptic for high price change, and other matters involved during the exchange (how trust another criminal Cheesy ?)
Obviously "little gang" doesn't get involved in the really btc advantage (likewise move funds, recycle and so ...)

Well, to be honest, I think no self respecting criminal would ever use bitcoin. I think they are respectful towards the bitcoin and treat it with the respect it deserves.

I think their purpose for using it is to buy illegal materials with it, like buying weapons, drugs etc. as it is anonymous to send to anyone so so no one will know that from whom that money has came and who is being using that materials which are purchased with that money. So in this way the criminals are getting benefited from bitcoin.

You can mask profit from crime, move funds, for what I know in the real life people love cash and not btc...
And in such days of tx delayed, how to deal with a criminal ?

Unfortunately, Bitcoin is not anonymous: http://www.bitcoinisnotanonymous.com/
It is pseudo-anonymous. And IP can be easily hidden through tor. Thus, any half-intelligent criminal would know what to do to make his/her transactions more anonymous, than they normally are.

A smart criminal will not use bitcoin. He will use Monero. That is totally different from bitcoin, it is truely anonymous.

I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering

Criminal can use anything to fulfill their desires. Does that mean you will blame the thing involved in question?

They use cars, knives etc., so will they be banned for it?
I guess you got it by now.

They wont use Monero or Dash or anything. They have much poorer liquidity than Bitcoin. There are no Localmoneros to get it from cash, only few USA-based exchanges deal with monero, xmr.to has limit of 1 or 2 btc for transfer. Monero is far from ready to be used for some serious transactions.

I find it fascinating that this question even comes up. Anything of value can be use to trade for goods or services that is illegal. Bitcoins is not the problem, it's the criminals who use it. Heck, if they could trade onions for some blow they probably would.

Lots of things are used for illegal activities. It does not mean something should not be used. Words and letters are also used for illegal activities by the way - terrorists are using them to communicate. So we should use them with care, maybe we are potential terrorists?

Sure but Bitcoin is the one that is being hammered down all the time. Unfair but hard reality.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

agree all used for illegal activities. weapons, social media, currency,
not only bitcoin. so it was very reasonable when others use bitcoin for illegal activities
