I just read a few days ago in the local newspapers that police catch drug dealers with a lot of drugs ready for sell.
It seems that they paid for it with Bitcoin.
Such news really can show whole BTC community in negative light.
Yes, it's sad fact but Bitcoin is used for illegal activities.
It's nothing we can do about it.
Is it confirmed that they used bitcoin in buying drugs? Like telling everyone about this in the used of media? In which country? All things have it's positive and negative impact. |

It happened in Croatia. I read about it in the newspaper last week. I think that journalists heard about it at the press conference with the police. Sorry but I can't find article about it in the English. |

All people are not good and not bac some people are really using bitcoin into illegal activities for there own sake , And for there own safety or weath they using bitcoin in such of buying illegal drugs, fireamrs and many more that bitcoin can really deal with illegal activities.

It happened in Croatia. I read about it in the newspaper last week. I think that journalists heard about it at the press conference with the police. Sorry but I can't find article about it in the English. Media really annoys me. It's fine if they report like that but somehow they must report too the benefits of using bitcoin. Anyways up to people if how will they deal in those negative news about bitcoin. An open minded one will never believe easily that bitcoin is mostly used as instrument in illegal activities. It's being used but not mostly used, it's different. |

sometime when i take a tour to the deepweb i see most of there sites are accepting bitcoin as payment mode i don't know how kuch of them are scam but most of them accept btc and are illigal even the whole hidden network is actully illigal

Bitcoin is used in illegal transaction like drugs, hitlers and illegal weapons. Because of anonymous feature of bitcoin, it become famous in the black market in deep web. |

I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering
I know some illegal activities that includes bitcoins, Like in darkweb. They are using bitcoin as their payments to the bought drugs, guns, or something illegal their There will always be those who would find ways to obtain what they want. It is just that they found out that bitcoin is another instrument that can be used to anonymously purchase stuff that are considered illegal. The same goes with the fiat. So it is not only bitcoin that's being used for shady activities and transactions. Everything in this world has some advantages as well as some disadvantages. It might noot be only bitcoin by which people does the illegal work. Might be some people use it for illegal work but we can not negalate the advantages of bitcoins. yes you are right, it is only the problem with people that how they use bitcoin, bitcoin is only a currency and with that good people do good activities while those people who have a bad mind do wrong with that. |

What kind of website are you visitin on deepweb there are lots of scam website on that deepweb as my friend says. Im not tying to visit that but i read some article that you can find anything you want in that place not like google it's limited and some of news are fakes. |

What kind of website are you visitin on deepweb there are lots of scam website on that deepweb as my friend says. Im not tying to visit that but i read some article that you can find anything you want in that place not like google it's limited and some of news are fakes. well anything in the darkweb is most likely linked to illegal activities and bitcoin facilitates that completely. but bitcoin does more good than bad imo. |

Bitcoin will be used for good as well bad things the same way it happens for several years with fiat, soo nothing new here, besides its harder to trace the people who are under the dark marketplaces.
I think although Fiat is also used for illegal activities as well but I think it will not be as perfect as bitcoin, because you can be easily tracked when you use fiat to transact. with bitcoin you can not be tracked and there is no evidence of when you really use for illegal activities This is a mistake, unless you know what are you doing then tracking your bitcoins is very easy, cash in the other hand is very anonymously by its very nature. Yes, bitcoin does not support complete anonymous because bitcoin is providing us only pseudo-anonymous. So, we need to take necessary steps to protect our identities. I agree cash dealing are complete anonymous but carrying them is very much difficult whereas bitcoin has the feature to carry out across borders too. Yeah, this is a mistake that I see over and over again in the forum bitcoin does not offers anonymity it offers pseudo anonymity and steps are needed in order to achieve a good level of anonymity. That is why cash is still king when dealing with illegal stuff. |

That is one of the big reasons why bitcoin now is in demand and we are seeing that the price has increased so much, I guess it will continue to progress in the future as more and more people are coming in to do their illegal activities and normally those who are doing illegal activities use big volume of bitcoins to transact, the would help the economy of bitcoin to progress in overall. |

like fiat moneys bitcoins can be used for illegal activities but today the majority of bitcoin activities are legal, and if you want to exchange that money for fiat you maybe need to share your personal information I think this politic reduces the ratio of ilegal activities.

I'm not so sure about that, most countries do not have the proper mechanism in place that would allow them to make sure people are using their Bitcoins within the law. I wouldn't be surprised if a large number of criminal organizations have already adopted Bitcoin as a means to transact under the radar. I mean let's face it Bitcoin really is the ideal money transfer system for criminals right now. |

Correct,money has always been used in the illegal activities or it is the major part of that and as we say bitcoin is a currency having a great value so as a money obviously can be used in illegal activities and already being used,in dark web and may be more that we dont know yet. |
