Hey guys,

Already found it  Grin

See link: There is an company who even had a lawsuite agains VOX media for using there trademark "Verge" and they are in the Hitech. The lawsuit was about the name www.theverge.com

Indy Founders LLC a small company no-one ever heard from.... had that lawsuite agains Vox media (a big company)

They are the company who is already registrated the Vere symbol as a trademark and name back in 2011 and started this project in 2012 already.

So "Verge" is a trademark and if they even suit Vox media, for using "Verge" in there website...... why didn't they ever suite "Vergecurrency.com"?

And also that we just say "Verge" also in the advertisments "Verge" which is a trademark and NO LAWSUITE agains Mindgeek or ....... whatever,

See link, lawsuite about Trademark "Verge" year 2016 !!! https://www.scribd.com/doc/297915127/The-Verge#from_embed

So let's see now how Indy Founders LLC will react on the fact, that some cryptocurrency is using there Trademark Grin

I don't but I will connect the Trademark "Verge" with childporn and abuse, have fun you all Cool and than they can suit me Roll Eyes

Please don't worry too much, don't panic.
It is something like regularly maintenance on Bittrex exchange.
Just turn your computer off and hang out several hours (might be days, lol); then turn your computers on again to see everything back to normal.

it appears some mining pools are under ddos attack, and we are experiencing a delay in our blocks, we are working to resolve this.

i just came online and didn't check, but as someone mentioned "only orphaned blocks" doesn't sound good but more like the last attack.

$XVG @vergecurrency is once again under attack, someone is 51%'ing the chain and invalidating all legit blocks.
All pools and miners suffer from this, the attacker is getting all blocks currently.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/8l8dsm/verge_xvg_getting_exploited_again_with_the_same/

SECURITY     Verge (XVG) getting exploited again, with the same exploit modified

Here we go, Verge devs didn't listen, the chain is getting exploited again with a slightly modified attack vector (2 algorithms overtaken instead of one...).

Vergins still think this is "only" a DDoS of mining pools as officials claimed (ROFL) while the attacker is possibly gaining millions of XVG for free again.

If Verge will implode this time?

Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3256693.msg38135174#msg38135174

This is the guy who last time pointed the exploit out. Reliable source.

Edit: earliest block I found as a starting point is 2,155,913. https://prohashing.com/explorer/Verge/ still shows the current growth of the blockchain at around 25 blocks per minute resulting in 18250XVG or 950$ per minute for the attacker.

Currently sitting at around 650.000$ worth of XVG.

it's not really a 51%, more a old bug that gets exploited again with a slightly modified method the 2nd time after nobody fixed it properbly ....

Maybe people have send warnings that the last bug fix doesn't fix the issue instantly .... Seems they have been right.

So far 35M XVG stollen worth 1.7M USD ...... Deja vu, Deja vu

Since nothing really was done about the previous attacks (only a band-aid), the attackers now simply use two algos to fork the chain for their own use and are gaining millions:

Both algos, scrypt and lyra2re can be rented easily for a few bucks at nicehash, they simply send one block scrypt, after that a block lyra2re and so on and all with manipulated timestamps thus lowering diff to lowest possible mining several blocks per minute like this

Another timewarp / modified vector attack.

Official block explorer is back online, with a much higher blockheight.

2.205.900 is one of the last blocks from the attacker. Roughly 50.000 blocks were possibly mined.

It appears the attack is over, 35 million XVG were generated in a a couple of hours. Official response is "mining pools were DDossed".

We are surrounded by legends on this forum. Phenomenal successes and catastrophic failures. Then there are the scams. This forum is a digital museum.
