When POS will work properly?
When are the fixes?

We are trying to identify the problem. The issue is that the code around PoS seems ok, so the the problem is not as obvious as an 'oversight' in the code. It is something else. We are looking for the culprit....just hang in there...

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Mac-qt 2.1
Please do not run any older Mac wallets and be aware that the PoS problem exists but you will be able to send and receive etc.
If you have problems running the Mac wallet, save your wallet.dat and delete the app data and resync and copy your wallet.dat back again.

We are working on debugging the code and there will be an update soon with some fixes. In the meantime, you can run the wallets and send / receive but the PoS will not work as intended until after the next release. I hope to be able to give an estimated completion date for the update in the next 1-2 days. There will be a fix for the PoS system, some masternode updates and updates to the spork system that we discovered is not running as it should. As soon as I know how long this will take to do I will let you know.

Stay with us...

You will need to contact BCT user 'MaxMinersNet' who is running the mining pool. We are not involved with the running of the pool. I got my last payout today at 1655 hours (GMT) so just over 30 min ago so it seems to work for me.

Sorry about the slow block times, it looks like someone is trying on purpose to stall the network by throwing 8-10GH X11 on making the diff. rise and then switching it off again or someone has no clue about mining and is wasting that much X11. I'm trying to do something about it.

We are working on a fix for the PoS system. In the meantime and whilst this miner is trying to stop the network, please try to make some PoS blocks by keep staking and restart your wallets and don't forget to unlock them.

Alot of clueless nicehashers out there.
"If i rent 10GHS and multiply the total hashrate with 100, then i will earn 100 times more. lets go 1000 times then" lol  Roll Eyes

They will hopefully learn by their mistakes when they see that they paid 15000 sat per MOJO etc Smiley

Just a quick update, we have identified and fixed the PoS issue and we are running some debug wallets that seems to stake as they should. There are still a few minor issues to sort out but expect an update / upgrade in the next few days. Once an updated wallet with the PoS fix is out we will start working on the spork system and get that up and running.

ED: We have a MOJO v.2.2 that we are testing now that will have the PoS fixed....

These are the updates so far in MOJO V2.2 and the official release is probably due in 2 days time:
As you can see we are testing a V2.2 now Block explorer

Updates done:
Uses FixSpentCoins to fix PoS reward wallet corruption.
Fix removing of orphan transactions
Fix wallet.h for AddAccountingEntry
Apply Bitcoin patch for miniupnpc 1.9
Don't process transaction's we already have. (AddToWallet implies BindWallet)
Queued transactions (Only notify transaction changed when finished syncing)
Store transaction list order in memory rather than compute it every need  bitcoin/bitcoin@616d61b
Changes in Masternode initial Download (Skip total by initial)

New release imminent and the PoS issue will be solved...

The PoS is set at 15% until block 512,000 (the ideal being 1440 blocks per day so about 1 year) and then reducing to 10% after 6 months and reducing to 5% and the to 1% in 6 month intervals. This has to be monitored for the next few months and maybe voted for any changes. Once there are a few more masternodes we can use the vote function to agree on future updates.

Thanks for the update. I would suggest if possible going no lower than 5% as POS incentive as it gives much more incentive for running a node than 1%. Or is there good reasoning why the POS incentive should go so low as 1% ?

What is the reward for running a masternode? Please give me an example if I have one masternode running and also have 10000 coins staking. Thanks.

I will address both of the questions above.

The masternodes will get 50% of all the PoS blocks. So, in ideal conditions, with 15% PA, if all all 100 mill. coins stake there should be 15 mill. coins generated per year. So, 7.5 mill for MNs per year (maximum) so if there are say 20 MNs running, that would mean 375,000 MOJO per year.
The stake is 15% for another year and then it reduces. We can think about ways for the MNs to be compensated. The PoW is only for 6 months to ensure the chain is moving.

Any ideas would be welcome, especially from MN operators.

ED: We can discuss the MN collateral and reward with some input from you.

Excellent, thank you. Is the MN setup you have listed a few posts up still viable or will there be another MN setup tutorial? Also can we run multiple MN's on one IP address? Thanks!!!!

Edit: Still need 200,000 for each MN?

Yeah, there is still a 200k collateral requirement for a MN. The setup will work for a remote / local setup. I hope to have a MN setup guide for Pi and others in time. Now we have to get the V.2.2 out and see how staking is doing.
Yes, you can run multiple masternodes on one IP remotely but you will need to know how to set up IP tables in Linux. We will not provide a guide for this as it is too advanced. If you know how to use IP tables in Linux, then go for it. If you provide a decent tutorial, there will be a bounty.
