Oh man I read about this thread! man I wonder what this guy thinks of this trade now.....
Not sure how Laszlo thinks of the trade now, but the following is his post in Feb 2014 (half a year ago).  I spent it all on pizza long ago: https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH43-4 years ago there were less than 100 people frequenting this forum, and I was pretty happy to trade 10,000 coins for pizza. Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I lost 3.55 BTC 2 weeks ago and I'm crying about it. I can't imagine how he felt losing 10k........

This is definitely NOT a joke. 10,000 BTC were nothing in 2010 when someone bought a pizza with them. I would be really pissed if it was me who spent that amount of BTC on pizza. Hell, if I have access to a time machine, I would love to get those 10,000 BTC and deliver a bulk of pizzas on the buyer's doorstep myself! |
