It's depends on the attitude of the people towards gambling.. It can be addictive but once you already on the limit and hit the wall that's the time that you stop gambling.. but some people will still keep going and going until they win no matter how much lost they have.

I also think it depend on player's mind what is expectation he have and how much money he want to make, if anybody won decent in the beginning than it will be much hard for it to stop this easily, I think this kind of behavior is purely sickness when anybody find himself helpless in that kind situation.

Before you enter into the gambling world, you should know the pros and cons and mostly the outcome is negative and that is a hard way to earn money when the odds does not favor you, but there are professional people who can exploit the house and we want to be like them but we can't because we are not gifted with the skills.

Well, gambling is not a disease but gambling addiction is a disease, it follows the same logic as alcohol really, many people in the world have drank alcohol, and they are fine, but there are a minority that can’t stop and are addicted to alcohol.

exactly. gambling can bring out the greediness in people but gambling itself is not at fault here because mostly people who gamble are adults. and as adults we should already have that sense of self control and responsibility to know if we are gambling excessively already. a lot of people lot their minds already with addiction, so we should try to limit ourselves before it gets to that point where it'll be hard for us to stop

That is because people don’t want to take responsibility for their actions so they prefer to blame a scapegoat rather than point the finger at the right person, themselves.

That is really the reality to most of us, including me, that we tend to blame others on our present conditions in life where in fact we are the one that are carting our stars and making the decisions before - that is why we are here now. Unless you are being captive as hostage and can't decide of your own - that is another story. Sickness is likely a disease that ruins the day . Yes addiction is already a form of a pathological disorder.
Gambling is a form of addiction that needs to be treated with meds ( for some.. to lessen the anxieties and strengthen their fight against triggers) along with individual and group counseling.
