Well i wouldnt go soo far, sickness, no people drink social, smoke social, use drugs social, this make them sickness? No, sure if people do abuse of any of those it will become a huge problem and usually without no way out.
We all wanna to win the jackpots, is what makes the most gamble, even knowing they can and will loose their money to the house, there isnt nothing new at those, people must realize it. Definitely it's needed because an addicted gamblers needs help to cure the disease, as early as possible this gambling problem should be treated immediately to it will not aggravate and will result to losing your family which in my case I could not imagine happening to me.

addiction happens when you have no real goals in life and your only source of income comes through gambling . if you are good enough to get a good real job then you wont be having any problem with gambling,never plan on becoming rich through gambling,only a very few could win lotteries like that.

In my perspective gambling should be considered as a sickness. It is a sickness when it becomes an addiction. Addiction is considered an illness in medical world. Even if it is not considered sickness, in my opinion I will still label as that. So when you have problem on gambling like addiction better to cure it as soon as possible seek for an adviser to help you. It is really hard if the disease spread on your mind if that will happen it can't be cured. You will always thinking about gambling everyday on your life, that is though action if you will continue to gamble.

Yeah. Gambling should be considered entertainment instead of a sickness in my opinion. You simply choose to entertain yourself - at a price of course, which is the house edge that casinos make money and charge you upon.

If you are gambling away bill money or borrowing to gamble, then it is time to think about your decisions. But otherwise I guess it is fine.

that's right , i don't think it's a sickness when you feel have nothing wrong with gambling , it's a sickness when people get lost so deep causing so many problem in their life and instead to stop it they continue playing without considering there could be make their situation much more worse than before until they feel desperate. once people reached that level it should considered as a sickness.

agree with this but unfortunately many people is not realize about this and they still continue to playing gambling. its really bad for their life, and they will not stay for longer time. not just loss in the money, they will loss everything they have and they will ruin and its hard to get out in that situations. so i think we should control our self while we playing gambling and only play with safe.

well it may cause a lot of negative effects in people's lives once they get too hooked to it. especially as you've said, if people have big capital, sometimes it's hard to control yourself. following this routine would most likely lead to addiction and that's where the sickness comes in. i think it's more of a mental issue and can easily be resolved with the help of family and friends.

With that said, I still can't consider gambling as a sickness, though we lose more and win, we agree to that and we depend on luck to win. You can't be hooked in gambling if you don't want.
