Well I don't think that playing gambling should be considered as a sickness,
Maybe some player who are a compulsive gambler is sick but for those who can controll their selves I don't think they are also sick maybe they are just doing it for profit like me and when ever we reach that limit we would just simply stop.

I believe it depends on how bad a person gambles. If the person just gamble for fun and entertainment and not regularly, it is not a sickness. Unless that person gambles regularly and spend his/her lifetime savings as capital for gambling - that is really bad especially if that person lose that life savings from gambling.

I don't agree that gambling is a sickness. Addiction to gamblig - yes, it is mental illness like any other addiction: to food, drugs/alcohol, etc.
But gambling can also be a hobby that you enjoy and receive fun from.

Why we shouldn't eat a big piece of fat cake if we like it?
Why we shouldn't gamble if we have fun from it?

It can be considered sickness if a person is being addicted to it and he/she has no control on his gambling passion. But, to think the benefit of gambling is a number one stress reliever away from very busy world of career that you have. A lot of people went crazy because of gambling , they cannot afford to lose but the did it anyway.
Causing them in a lot of debt and desperate to continue their lives and even try to suicide.

It would take time before you can finally do.

well i don't see gambling really as sickness from a personal point. i've been gambling for several years now and i can say that it has a positive effect on me as it relieves stress and puts me in an enjoyable mood. i think there's such a thing as healthy gambling where in you can be engaged in it without having to worry about becoming addicted. gambling has been around for as long as people learned how to communicate with each other and i think it becomes a sickness only if we do it with an unreasonable amount of time and money,

No it's not a disease that is like dengue. Dengue can be cured with medicines. Gambling addiction, on the other hand, can't. It's a mental sickness and dengue is a health sickness. It's much harder to cure someone that has mental sickness because it would take time and practice to do so. Gambling addicts have to attend seminars and meet up with other individuals that suffer from the same sickness which is addiction. If they do it by themselves, it would be a really really tough battle and the chance of them actually succeeding is very low.

You simply just can't say "I want to quit gambling" and then be cured the next day.

Gambling is becoming risky if you have a lot money when you enter inside the gambling sites. But even if  you have a lot of money but you never try to get inside of it, probably risk not be also connect with you. Therefore, no addiction and no sickness will be happen.
