I think in retrospect and despite a late release of the full nodes it might not be the worst thing to happen to this token. I'm sure the devs are well aware of the benefits bigger exchanges will bring to the price of waves once they release the nodes and with that in mind the timing might be strategic. There's no doubt waves will see a massive increase once polo and kraken add it. ICO price will soon become a "I wish I bought earlier" number.

Pretty spot on! This is something I agree with. Many traders will be kicking themselves for not buying in around ICO price in a few months/years.
